Your videos are WAY better then all the guys one I’ve watched. Thank you for planning ahead and writing everything down to inform us nervous wrecks! And I have slight OCD so I like to know what to expect to mentally prepare as well as prepare in general like what to bring what to look out for etc...
Try not to overthink things and don't let your nervousness show or get the better of you. It actually makes the situation worse

ANY TIME... ANY PLACE... MUSTANGS!!! I actually just graduated basic through the 323 and am at tech school now. Your videos are very accurate. I can look back at basic and realize it wasn’t so bad and after 4th week it really flew. I always told people “I wouldn’t say it gets easier, you just get better at knowing what to do.”

I'm so excited. I have an eye consultation this Wednesday that MEPS is having me do. My ASVAB score qualified me for everything but my vision needs to get checked before I am able to completely swear in. Thankfully I won't have to do the complete MEPs once I go back. Thanks for the info!
Update! Eye consultation was cleared for me, as well as I am now enlisted in the DEP program and I ship June 25th! My first DEP call is this Saturday. I'm excited 😁

Like watching your videos sister they are awesome and I love hearing about how life is for you in the US Air Force, it’s not 100% different from Army life but it’s interesting for sure. Glad you graduated BMT now go kick ass at Tech School. I have no doubt you’ll do amazing there to. By the way I can see your not only a strong determined person but also intelligent so I hope you use that talent and be a TI one day. I think you’d do amazing at that.

ur vids are very helpful i wish i could serve my country but i was denied about 2 yrs ago from the airforce and then again from the army but i still watch all the vids like im leaving for basic bc its all i want to do still. have a great career and thank you !!!!
I went to basic training in 2012 and we did 8 1/2 weeks, but you're stories seem a lot more relaxed and easier then when I went. We did PT at 4:45 right after we woke up, got screamed at and PT'd all day long for stupid stuff. After PT we did our shower and shaved. They drilled us all the time, especially at the beginning of Basic. We had only had a call after the 2st 2 week and then we got 10 minutes on the phone once a week. We were in the old dorms too which we're old..., the new dorms were being built. Nice to hear the differences over time.
PT is still in the morning for summer schedule. I went during the winter schedule.
I know the people I met that went to during the winter did PT in the afternoon. I was there from april to june so we just did it in the mornings.

What was your experience like?
I ship out March 26th and I’m a slow runner and my endurance SUCKS! Lol that’s the only thing I’m worried about. It makes me wish I did this when I was younger lol. I’m 26.
Run as much as you can now and stay as hydrated as possible! I'd also start taking a prenatal vitamin and/or iron supplement up until you leave!

Thank you for your videos. New sub here. Currently in DEP. You mentioned vending machines in your video. How much cash do you recommend bringing? I’ve heard you have to account for every bill by serial number so just wondering what’s best.
I didn’t bring cash. My money list was always empty and it’s easier that way.

So MTIs yell at you a lot. Do they require you to yell back when answering them? How much trouble would you get in if you always had a calm voice...no matter what
Most of the time, no. Sometimes when I was chow runner, yes lol.

I ship out April 2nd and I’m really nervous with the rifle part, I’m so glad you mentioned it here. I can do 25 push-ups, a pull up, 25 sit-ups (i need to work more on this one) and 16-17 min 1.5 mile run which i also need to work on more. I really hate having short legs bcs I’m only 4’11 so running faster is really much more work for me. I’ve been in DEP for 2 years and I’ve finally gotten my shipping date so I’m trying to get the best out of it and work hard. Do you get much time to improve more? So it is 8.5 weeks till graduation then there will be no more airman’s week after?

8.5 weeks of BMT

With all the classes that you go to in BMT are there written tests that you have to pass in order to make it through? What about the classes in tech school? Are these all training classes or will you have to pass tests in order to graduate both tech an bmt ?

No they aren’t required but I wore them under ABUs sometimes because they’re kind of a rough material!
Did you lose any weight when you left boot camp and did you build muscle?
I lost 2 lbs lol but I definitely gained muscle so I probably lost fat too
I would like to know what is your best advice for someone who is trying to study for the asvab to get into the air force because I have tried everything to take this asvab and get in my recruiter hasn't contacted me and I dont know what is the best thing to do?

Very helpful videos Brittany, I’m leaving for bmt May 7th as an E3. I heard from a friend that recommend me to take a lighter for burning the streams from my clothes, is that acceptable, won’t they take it in the airport?. Another questions, I been more focused on improving my pt times that I haven’t really study much of the ranks... should I get to it urgently or I should be ok learning that in bmt?. Thank you, and thank you for the videos.
You can’t take a lighter on an airplane lol you can use scissors or nail clippers for the strings on your uniform. And you’ll have plenty of time to learn the ranks when you get to BMT but it’s better to know them before you get there! :)

I saw the backpack they issue has a DIYed name tape but because my spouse is active duty I have an official name tape, can I use my own or not? It’s a very specific circumstance but just wondering if anyone has advice on that

I liked tresemme or the green gel in a tub you get at the BX lol I think we got 3-4 phone calls

MirAguirre there’s coffee at the dfac but you don’t really have to actually get the coffee bc MTIs are always yelling at you

so when u graduate u have your own dorm and everything changes right? u have enough time for everything and like free time , since u are recording .. also
im a fast runner like i can run fast but not for a long period of time.. what would u recommend for me to do to get better?
You'll have a roommate or two in the dorms at tech school. We're off on weekends unlike in basic. Try practicing sprints/opening up your stride to get faster. It's something I need to continue working on too.
Auribel B many recruiters have told me that running is more about consistency than speed. It’s great if you can run 1 and half miles in 10 minutes but it’s important to be able to remain at a constant pace for 30 minutes. Running is a mental challenge as much as physical, remember to control your breathing (try breathing with your stomach 3-2 ratio) and to remind yourself when you’re getting tired that the pain is temporary and will be worth it in the long run
Question in bmt if you have really bad cavities some that can be filled and one that needs to be pulled would they disqualify you or will they pull and fill them?
This is a random question, but what beverages were offered for breakfast? Did they have coffee? lol.

Your videos are my favorite. I ship out in a month and this has been the most helpful information so far! Can you tell me what your final PT score was when you graduated? I was feeling confident until I looked at the dep call app and saw that the minimum for situps is like 50 something 😭

jim ammor no I didn’t I asked the guy that gave us our medical papers and stuff and he said unless you have extreme cystic acne that you don’t have to worry. I just have normal teenage breakouts and acne scars and it was totally okay

MirAguirre Yes. Similar to the Army’s uniform. They’ll begin issuing them during October of this year at basic training.

Everyone gets assigned jobs so there’s a few people who do laundry for the flight
