Another version of Dylan's "Man in the Long Black Coat" that works as a demo track is the one by Joan Osborne, from her album "Relish." It has lots of great sounds and textures, a wide dynamic range, and it's a great-sounding song!

I have a Bluesound Node. I bought it as an entry level, streamer, thinking of them upgrading. I quite like it for what it costs, but I don’t get why people praise it software; I find it clunky. There is organised and integration between streaming apps is non-existent.

I have the Pd Creative power board 5v converter and the Pd Creative top of the line power supply. I love the sound in my Node N130. I've also got an Sbooster power supply and it's bloody horrible in comparison. Thin and bright would be a good way to describe it's sound. I wasted quite a few $$$ buying it. Couldn't sell it on the 2nd hand market either.

The PD products are better or the Sbooster? Not quite sure what your saying was the better choice can you please confirm?

I want to remind the sales team that the profit margins on audio equipment are typically between 20-50%. For instance, selling the previous video on the Pathos integrated amplifier for $50,000, typically with a 30-40% margin, will make a gross profit of $15,000 to $20,000. This profit can and should be shared with the sales team via commission for their efforts, while the remaining gross can be used for inventory and overhead costs. Those profits may seem to be going towards paying for Casa Del Kevin!

I did the upgrade, but I'm using the Node as the transport only. Dedicated DAC used is a Chord . i didn't hear much difference as far as the upgrade cost factor was.

I have pd creative and sbooster power supply . The sbooster is a horrible sounding power supply in comparison. The s booster spent 2 nights out of it's box on my system, and from then on couldn't live with it so I just shoved it back in it's box where it's remained ever since.

Kevin your get in trouble for talking about upgrading equipment, the snake oil police don't believe in better quality parts, they call better parts snake oil, that's because they are not audiophile & also have poor hearing!!!!!!!!!, great video as usual 👍

Kevin - do you agree that this upgrade only makes sense if you are using the internal DAC?

I contacted them with the same question. Although they haven't tested this situation, they told me they expect to see a difference since the power supply would now be outside the box. I am not sure if that is worth the cost.

i use a Bluesound that i use with a very expensive outboard DAC so this would make no difference.

And yet it does make a huge difference. I have a pontus 2 dac and the bluesound node 2i and I did the Pd Creative psu upgrade (similar to this one) with external linear power supply. The difference was very obvious. Tighter bass, darker background, better layering and separation of instruments and vocals. I highly recommend giving it a go. For me it was worth every penny and it puts the node in the $2000 to $3000 streamer price range after the upgrade.

Any plans for Apple M2 Mac Mini Compatibility? There were some solutions for M1, not M2. Replacing my Windows 7 Laptop Music Server with an M2 Mini - this type of technology would be ideal for PSU!!

I Have A Simple Question For You! You Claim That You Are "Upscale Audio! .....But Yet You Review Products That You Sell And Actually Think Are Close To Crap! How's That Possible! I Was A Customer.

I prefer to spend my hard earned money on analog equipment. So if I just shelled out thousands for a killer turntable, but I want a streamer for background music, convenience, whatever....wouldn't I expect the same dealer to help me with that price point item as well? I personally would avoid any shop that turned its noise up at something like a node ... I can't stand the snobbery.

If an affordable bluesound is a gateway to getting someone into hifi then why not? I've been in this hobby for over 35 years started with car audio before that. Kevin is offering both high end and entry level components. Do your research before buying.
