I probably should have known better than use clamps. I knew the plastic was flimsy. but I was just coming down with covid and starting to feel horrible so I wanted, at the time to make sure the seams didn't come apart before I left it. It just took a little longer to get to this stage and actually using the Evercoat beefed up the top hull better than the without it.
When I was building my kit, there were 6 or 7 kits for sale on Ebay. The gentleman I purchased the kit from had 9 kits at the time - two of which I had purchased at the time. He explained that the vacuum formed kits were made from one of two fiberglass models that someone had made. They took one of those models and cut it up to make the vacuum form pattern. I am making the assumption that he was one of the two guys who made the vacuum formed kits as he seemed to know a lot of the behind the scenes information about the original fiberglass model as well as the guy that made the original fiberglass Models. My understanding now is that there is 3D print or files of this subject in 1:350 or what ever size you choose to make it. if you do a search of You tube there is one of the guys I follow who is building one. I have no idea where he got it though.
