Good in a pinch or if your eyes require different strengths due to medical condition or other circumstances. Would not spend more than a few bucks for them...
Each lens has two lens on top of each other. The turnable dial moves both lens on the side it's attached to give you individual adjustable focus to each eye separately. So just put them on and cover one eye and the eye that's open turn the dial either forward or backwards on that same side of that open eye to control moving that lens for that open eye until your vision becomes clear. Then close the eye you just adjusted and do the same steps turning the dial next to your other eye that's now open. Then open both eyes and you should see clearly. These are great, but very fragile, scratch easily and hard to keep clean. I'm always looking for more of these vintage type of adjustable eyeglasses. I really like them. The vintage one's work the best. Most of the new ones they make are really cheap and the lens aren't very clear plastic. Almost slightly opaque. Most of the new versions of these don't adjust well, blurry and are sort of like looking through a plastic sandwich bag or a fish bowl. I have thrown a lot of the new versions they make in the trash trying to find some that work like the vintage ones do. UPDATE: I just received my vintage Instant 20/20 eyeglasses in her video for $13.00!!!!! It took a lot of searching to find the vintage ones. They came with the clear hard shell case, same instructions, but were opened, tried on, but were never worn by the seller and still in mint condition! These are really nice and clear plastic lens and work perfectly! I can adjust for reading or for distance. These are no longer made and I'm still searching the internet everyday for more of these vintage versions as they're a very hard to find item.
How many new versions did you go through? I’m ordering a pair for my mother who has terrible vision in either eye at different fluctuating levels that change like the weather. So my fingers are crossed 🤞 based on your review I will be searching for instant 20/20. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. Many blessings to you and yours. Shalom.
My intention is to use them as my eyes heal, which they have a lot in a year of no rx glasses and pinhole glasses. Years of school and being a bookworm cause near sightedness
Are they heavy and slip down your nose? I am interested in using them for close-up work, like sewing & crafts. I don't know whether to purchase these or something like Donegan magnifiers. Thanks in advance for your reply!
For crafts, I would get the magnifying glasses that you can dial in - they have a head strap. These are meant for like if your vision changes alot, and the focus area is not real big.
I got mine a few minutes ago and they are in the trash already, they did not focus they just did not work, plus they look and feel very cheap, in other words, they are JUNK, toy glasses have better quality than these JUNK. I am still angry at myself because when i saw the add on facebook i thought "They look like a product from china and it's probably junk" But i went ahead and bought them anyway, and now they're in the trash. I won't buy anything advertised on facebook anymore.

I just bought/ordered a pair and already I regret the order. I have not even received them yet but after watching the reviews I wish I had not bought them.
FYI, you never have clarity on peripheral vision, you don't have the rods and cones for it. Our area of clarity is actually, surprisingly small, I believe only a few degrees.
good day, Thank you for sharing. I suffered bells palsy a couple of years ago and my right eye never really recovered fully, so when I saw these advertised I also wondered if it would help. I am 70 years old in pretty good health and eat well. But My trust level in anything like this is on high alert. "walks like a duck". But I saw that you dated this some 6 years ago and would very much like to hear your thoughts today. If you can find a small measure of time to post or maybe just share with me? what your thoughts are after 6 years. Thank you and have a great day.
I see they sell for $60.00, great deal you found at the Thrift Store. I know someone who is diabetic, and they are constantly needing new glasses for reading and distance. Maybe I can find a pair somewhere like you did, I'll keep an eye out... :) Thank you for the video review.
Be careful to not get knock-offs. There's a lot of reports that the copies don't work well. I'm sure to keep the receipt in case you need to return them..
Just got mine and they ain't worth the $65+ I got ripped off for. Right eye focuses alright but left is a blur. The bows are too short for my 24.75" crown and I sure as heaven ain't gonna be wearing a sports strap with an apparatus that only services one eye!
Bonjour; J'ai commandé une paire de lunettes PROPER FOCUS depuis septembre 2020 et elle n'est jamais arrivée à destination à ce jour 08/01/2021. Impossible de contacter la société. Que dois-je penser ?
Yes. I have seen them at Walmart and Walgreens in as as-seen-on-tv aisle. It would be best to see if you can find a pair at a yard sale or thrift store. They are most suited for someone whose prescription changes / is not stable. Otherwise, it's probably best to just get some reading glasses from a local dollar store and save money.
Most likely you will get a hold of a copy cat version that is absolutely worthless. Because these are no longer made and are difficult to locate a true vintage version. Best to try thrift stores or yard sales so if you happen to come across a pair you can try them on, test them and not waste your money on the worthless copy cat versions.
No. They're more like an adjustable reading glasses. The only thing I think they would be good for, is if you just had surgery or something and your vision is changing
Why don’t they work on this more & create actual glasses glasses where it can adjust your prescription especially with better peripheral vision & sell cheap with better way of adjusting than having two lenses or whatever. This would be genius if they could. Every single person would buy them & they would become the new standard.
I would not pay more than a dollar or two for them. Try to pick them up at a yard sale. Regular reading glasses are better (more viewing area) - unless you just had a procedure or something where your vision of changing..
Be careful the new lookalikes from China are complete garbage. Only the original vintage version of these are the best and work great. Very hard to get your hands on the vintage originals. Good luck!
They run about $20. However, make sure you get the Instant 20/20 Vision brand. Also, you can often find them at thrift stores and yard sales for just a buck or two..
If you want to buy them, be sure you get the Instant 20/20 version. They're on Amazon, but they do not have good reviews. I would be on the lookout for them at a thrift store or yard sale where you can get them for a couple bucks..
Instant 2020. However, there are tons of knockoff brands.. I would only get them if I could pick them up for a couple hours on a thrift store or yard sale..
I agree, they're not worth more than a couple dollars. They are really only helpful for someone whose vision is changing - like after surgery or something.
THESE THINGS ARE ABSOLUTE CRAP. DO NOT BUY THEM. I just got my pair. They are not even worth 25 cents. The maximum vision correction on them is so weak and ineffective they are useless. They are cheaply make plastic junk that fall apart, but mostly, they just do not work to correct any vision problem. They were not designed by any optomotrist. The way they are suppose to work, is there are two plastic slides with two lens on them, and when you twist in or out the screw mechanism, it's suppose to move one lens in relation to the other, and increase or decrease... I want to say "whatever". Magnification, probably, because it's not lens corrective power. Anyway, the screw is a poorly made piece of blow molded plastic... it twists and makes snapping noises and does not particularly operate any sliding mechanism at all. by that's beyond the point, because they quickly fall apart, and you don't need the screw anyway. Put the sliding lenses back in the sliding rails for the frame, and sliding them manually, you find out what they are suppose to do, and it's not much at all. Total crap!
I bought this product! The glasses came with the lenses scratched so that they could not be used, even if they worked, because they are visibly of poor quality. The adjustments do not work well, and the fact that they are two lenses prevents the vision from adjusting through them ... there is always the sensation of double vision, blurred, regardless of the adjustment that is applied (with a lot of effort and time, since nothing works well on this product). The product in general sucks: very weak plastics, imprecise and precarious adjustments, poor quality plastic lenses that are already useless and absolutely damaged in the packaging ... the only part that seems to have any quality is the packaging itself, which, obviously, it went to waste along with the whole set. Even guidance paper is of the lowest quality possible - even toilet paper is better than that!

Honestly. I think they would only be helpful for when your vision is changing. For example, after surgery.
I just received mine pure plastic dial is not easy to adjust it's clunky as if stuck together and unable to use them I've wasted £59 😢
