Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 лип 2024
- Today I test out the As Seen on TV reading glasses called One Power Readers, which supposedly auto-adjust from 0.5 to 2.5. One Power Readers were bought at Target for $15.

P.S I really like your show, there’s only one reviewer I trust and that is you sir. I’ve bought plenty of items based on your opinion and avoided MANY because of it as well. Thank you so much for staying true and giving such detail. I really appreciate it. I was surprised that you’re from my home state originally, GA! - With love from my family to yours.
instablaster.
Dollar Store 2.5 readers looked the best.
Fun video, look forward to the next one!
I think the ???? glasses looked the best on you 🤣 actually the silver dollar tree ones looked pretty good
Omg when you were trying on all the glasses at the end! 😂🤓😂
Get rid of the text and that's a great out of context video.
@@MsPeoplepoop what?
@@jillianburke2 the part of the video you reference would be a great out of context video if the text is removed.
It was brilliant!
@@MsPeoplepoopcall it my junk drawer
As optometrists, we select the power for near vision glasses aka "reading glasses" based mainly on patient age . Other factors include (but not limited to) : distance vision power, cataract surgery, diabetes ... etc. To get an accurate prescription it is better to see an optometrist (especially if your insurance will cover the costs), but don't worry, your eye will not be damaged if you do't wear the correct prescription glasses. Although, you may feel discomfort or not being able to see with the glasses at your desired distance.
Love your reviews. :)
Ok so you chose depends on age, what would you choose for a very young person who may just happen to have bad eyes, or say a person who is only 40. Rather than a person who is 60 or 80?
@@AKayfabe first, you have to understand that with normal people, starting from age 40, near vision start to degrade. Assuming your distance vision correction = exactly zero in both eyes (exact normal distance vision) & assuming you have normal natural lens inside your eye you can use near vision glasses for ages 40 to 44 (+1.00) ages 45 to 49 (+1.50) ages 50 to 54 (+2.00) ages 55 and above (+2.50)
@@xwzusv So true, Hit me at 40 now at 66 yrs old and using +2.50
@@xwzusv That is for a person, as you notice, with normal 20/20 distance vision. For a person that is near-sighted, those diopter adjustments can be radically different.
For example, my distance vision used to be about 20/200, with my close vision 20/20 (normal reading distance perfectly clear). My close vision is now clear only at a distance of about 24 inches, so I need about a 1.5 diopter correction for reading.
thanks, abdulla!
nothing better than free advice from a professional. plus we didn't have to go to a cocktail party!
Even on the surface, the "automatically adjusts" claim seems like complete nonsense.
Yes, but they don't say that. They say the lens has varying focus over its surface and you are supposed to find and look through the spot that has the right focus for you. "The technology designs each lens with a range of corrections from .5 to 2.5. Your eye automatically looks through the lens and finds the right spot where the correction is right for you, so you can focus and read clearly."
@@aszi77 That is certainly how they supposedly work - although the optician test showing a correction of +2.5 over the complete lens would mean either the maker is lying or it was a defective pair.
Graduated focus lenses are nothing new - I have used them for decades. It does take a while to get the eyes/brain trained to automatically select the proper areas of the lenses for different distances. Some people can never manage to adjust, so they are not for everyone.
And, unless the correction needed is about the same for both eyes, then you may only be able to get one eye to focus at a time. That does not happen with prescription graduated focus lenses, as the two lenses are ground to whatever correction range is necessary for binocular focus.
Why would be testing 2.5's if you use 1.5's? I'm confused
@Ranzy Campbell That is true for some glasses, but not these. As tested, these are 2.5 across the lens and the advertiser is simply guilty of false advertising. Moreover, their claim of "Flex Focus Optic science" is hogwash. There is no such "science".
@ +2.5 are good when you want to do close up work even thou you may use +1.5 to read. Like examining diamond rings without a Lupe.
Omg. Your glasses try-on montage was great! Love Bailey! Great video, James!!
Always happy to see another review!
It's your "for now" drawer. You will put those there for now.
you really find a good way to review products !!!Amazing!!
I read quite a bit, and find that I'm more comfortable holding my book closer than 14". My arms would get tired at 14". I don't have a Fred Sanford drawer because I've worn glasses all my life and so, of course, bifocals. Nice video, James. Thanks.
This is extremely useful and a very thoughtful innovative solution. Thank you
Of course Bailey has to be in all your videos because she is the mascot of your channel & we all love her too. Great review on the reading glasses as I was wondering when or if you were going to review them, as I have seen them on tv lately here. 👍🏻😀🐶
Loved the finale of all the glasses...hilarious! 🤣😂🤣 Sorry can't even remember which looked best 🤗
The end with all those glasses you were trying an I loved it!!
I really liked the pucker you gave us on the thin optics.
This is my first time watching you really like your show on one power readers very informative.
Always happy to see a new Freakin review. I have loved your style for a long time, thanks for making these videos!
Love all your videos. Can’t wait to see what you have for us today. Please keep it up!!!
Good review.
Thank you!
Thank you for making this video. Extremely helpful!! And your dog is awesome and so is your love for her!
I just ordered adjustable readers. Problem is the company, (I discovered later) is in Hong Kong. I have no order number, no information, and yet my credit card has been charged.
I usually know better but I was so happy the ad came over my phone because I wear contacts and NO readers do the trick for seeing clearly on the computer screen, etc.
Live and learn! AGAIN!!
Thank you. I’ve subscribed, liked, saved, and hit the notification bell. 🛎
Myself and spouse have been using the multi-focus readers for several years now. I order from Amazon with prime shipping. Sightline seems to be the best that I've tried so far.
I use prescription but my husband needs reading and was forever losing them so I got him thinoptics. Best glasses ever. He attached them to his phone as he always has his phone and you can't beat the lifetime warranty. Last year the nose guards came off and they sent him a new pair. They are totally worth it.
What you needed to do is have people with various reading glasses strength and then have them try the One Power Readers to see if they would work for them. I’ve gone through various strengths of reading glasses over the years and depending on how far, or close, the reading material is they all seen to work. I like the thin optics readers for their portability and convenience.
I don't even need reading glasses but I love watching your reviews 😄😊
A great idea.
20/20, on Snellen.
Plus 2.5 readers.
Works for me.
Da Bailey!!!!!! LOVE that pup! And your reviews are pretty good, too!!! hahahahaha!!!
Good morning .. Thank you very much for your advice, I am Leonardo Bermudez from Colombia, I would like to know which lens you recommend, which of all is the best option to see at any distance? I currently use a +275 positive lens, what is the best and most advanced option that you can recommend?
Watched a couple of your reviews. OK, I'm hooked. I clearly see why you have so many subscribers. Yep, I did that. You now have another. Thanks for the great vids. Oh, and the dollar store silver or gold. IMO.
The try on was hysterical! I laughed so hard my neighbors probably think I'm crazy! Oddly enough, I thought the clip-ons made you look hot!.
I'm in on the gold or silver dollar store glasses... 😀👍
Pretty funny at the end. That plus the Fred Sanford reference - two thumbs up sir.
I loved Sanford and Son! The silver dollar store glasses were the best, but the ???? ones were awesome LOL.
Great modeling of glasses at the end!
I pulled out my old glasses drawer the other day to find some glasses for a young guy who was doing some work here. Amazing how many magnifications I had!
I love the One Power Readers. They worked so well I bought 3 more pairs after I knew they worked. They look good and are well made too. Not cheaply made like Dial vision (One Power Readers are replacing Dial Vision for me).
Forgot to mention they work up close and far away.
just bought some and enjoyed your other reviews/comparissions... yeah, they work like one level... but the dial a whatever kinda look not so bad, i have an embroidery machine and just learning how to use it properly, treading a needle is pretty much a pain for me... so if i get something that can do closer/further, that would be fine, who cares what i look like when i'm home lol
For me, using it on the desktop computer with the screen at arm's length is perfect. I can also move around in my small office cubicle without getting dizzy.
But for reading pocketbooks and other small prints, it's back to my prescription glasses.
Your videos are the best review videos for products. What do you do with the products you don't like? I'm a Fred Sanford fan too.
I liked how the looks comparison was like selecting a character
This is a first for me! I made it in the first 15 minutes!
Awesome review. Can you review the as seen on TV flea comb/pet brush please?
I know, I was thinking he could visit a local shelter or pound and ask if he could try it. Idk it that’s possible. Or maybe a dog park too
Fun starts 8:43. 😂 that was best modeling of glasses I've ever seen!
Ha! 14 inches from the face to read. Never in my 50 years have I been able to read at that distance. About 4 inches the joys of being legally blind. Nice review. Stay Gold.
But the burning question is how does Bailey look in them?
Before I started wearing glasses full time (more or less) my Fred Sanford variation was a pair on every lamp shade in the house, in each coat, in my purse & work bag, at my desk at work, & on a hook in the kitchen. For me the dollar store ones worked just as well as any others until I needed bifocals.
Thx for the video, I'm looking for a junker pair of readers I think I'll go the Costco route. Have a great day.
Great review. Until I found this one, all the reviews were thinly disguised marketing. Thank you, you're a godsend!
Truly enjoyed your in depth review !!! You saved me $60.
On the infomercial they are (3) payments of $19.95 for (3) . Thanks again . "Fred Sanford Drawer" as a tribute to" Red Foxx" !!!!!!
Love this channel and vivian tries
How about review car window tinting, both standard, and ceramic tints (3M, Suntek and NanoFlex)
They may not automatically adjust, but they did look pretty good and you were able to focus with them even though you usually use a 1.5 and those are a 2.5. They also don't cast any weird shadows and they are big enough for your face whereas some of the dollar store offerings look like kid size glasses. For 15 dollars that seems pretty good actually.
Have you checked out spin chill??Would be cool to see it reviewed when get chance
Dollar store 2.5 looked the best. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for video. It saved money
Nice work 👍
Take one divided by the power of the glasses to find the focal length. So, the +1.0 glasses will be in focus 1 meter from the glasses. The +2.5 will be in focus at 0.4m (40cm, 15.7in).
An aspherical lens can “automatically adjust” kind of anyway. It will remove spherical aberrations, which is the fuzzy blurry bit just outside your direct focus with standard reading glasses.
This should (if they are aspheric lenses) remove that fuzzy bit so an entire page will look clear and you can read everything without having to move your eyes.
So it “automatically” adjusts your main focus and peripheral vision. But it can’t change its base curve power. Which appears to be a +2.5.
Brother I was just looking at those earlier today and wondering how in the heck they worked! LOL🙏✌
Call it the draw of random vision. Also love bailey sooo cute. I wish they would make reading glasses for those with a stigma.
Great video as usual.
Love the end with all the glasses! 😂🤣😂
You should checkout a multi focus reader like Sightline. They are the best reading glasses I have tried. They stay in focus from 12 inches to a few feet. Sightline readers are awesome.
Just saw a ad on TV of a Rattlesnake coil charging device, have you done a video on that???
Years ago, my vision was 20/15, and I could see well at long range and up close. Old age has made it difficult to read and also since I make balsa wood models for my model railroad and also do electronic repair work. I had to get bifocals to read. Without my glasses anything closer than my arm's length becomes fuzzy. To see things up close that I'm working on I did get a 2.75 reading glasses from a Marcs store for 99 cents. They had a price tag of $9.99 but Marcs marked them down to a little over a dollar counting sales tax. Not bad for the money. They magnify well and stay in focus from 3 inches out to about 18 inches. The top of my bifocals are not prescription lens just regular shatter resistant plastic, and the bottom part, don't magnify at all but do keep anything in focus from 3 inches out to around 18 inches. I won't spend more for reading glasses as I can get them for a dollar at Marcs or any other dollar store like Family Dollar, Dollar General or at a Dollar Tree.
Thin optics looked the best on you. Love Bailey.
Can you do a video of the stuff that you still use every or almost every day?
my dad had a lot if glasses and we loved Fred Sanford with all the classes. He has a pair in his eyes and one on his head sometimes 😂.
me and my grandma used to watch sanford and son all the time. we finished all the seasons too. really good show btw
Me too! That show was hilarious also the people on that show looked like REAL folks you’d meet, not looked like all actors, not all perfect
Definitely believe it's 2.5 as mentioned although better than dollar glasses with spring extension because dollar glasses are easily breakable plastic if accidentally widened too much if you have a big skull
Buenos dias ..
i think the dollar store silvers look best. i'm using 1.5-2.0 readers (i'll be 59 this year) my most expensive readers are $2.50 from ebay.
HS. Great review. Thanks bra!
Auto-Adjusting Reading Glasses? I didnt know till now something like this exist! Thank you !
I don't want to burst your bubble...
Loved that show too! The silver dollar store ones looked best.
Can you do a review of the German intelligent color progressive auto focus glasses please.
Who else wanted to make screen shots of the glasses try-on at the end to make the most difficult version of Guess Who ever?! LOL Those faces were GOLD!
😀
Love the fashion show at the end 😂
I have fully watched your views regarding reading glasses particularly One Power glasses, but still I am confused to buy. Do you really suggest to buy this auto focal glasses ? I am from India🇮🇳 and now 50 years old, associated to teaching profession. Please confirm me
After having dozens of "Dollar Store" reading glasses, I now only buy Foster Grant Multi-focus (3 different power) reading glasses. These are the Best!
I feel like you could have made a poll for the looks
I want to make a poll and cannot figure out how to do so.
do they have anti blue-light coating and do they come in a clip-on?
I ordered the 4.0 readers with the wheel about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard from them since. What's up?
Thank You ! For The Brave an Freekin' Awesome Review! I Can See Clearly Now! ⛅👍🇺🇸
did the one power readers as seen on tv work good james white
Please let me know when you review the actual item listed. Thank you
what are the bubble buttons.on the earpiece inside next to the hinges?
Bailey's awesome!
Im going to Target right now to see if they have those THIN OPTICS, especially a pack with 2, for $20...
I hope they have a stronger strength than 2.5! Gonna find out... 😮
I would like to see some glasses on pretty Bailey!
I love these glasses. I can buy them for under £3. I use them for the computer 20 inches away and can read any book, paper or letters.
$1 Store 2.5 power and thin optics look the best
Best Reviews on UA-cam
Thank you
Please test the Hexclad saute pan. Its all over my FB feed. Interested to see the reviews on it.
I use to watch Sanford and son as well growing up..the top drawer of my dresser has always been my "junk drawer", I kinda wonder if that's why 🤔
At 7:15 - That Walter white look is PERFECT… wow, you are the one who knocks! 😂😂😂
Have you tried the Foster Grant Multifocus?
The dial vision looks the best 😉
“That one’s missing a lens…” (Throws them back in the drawer.) 😂
I do like the gradient style of the one power
OK not to be sarcastic 😂 but will you try testing Ionic Hairbrushes. Bring the kids back in to help again!
That music 🎶 WAS SO SMOOTH what’s the name of it?
