I’m still waiting for the video on HAIR LOSS prevention….
Protein shakes are also not recommended by my doctor.
Love your educational videos, sir! Thank you for all you do!
Dr Ekberg, how can I get in touch with you. I am starting to panic a little bit because it looks like I have franks sign and I do not want to die. I am struggling hard and love your content and the carnivore diet but struggle sticking with it. Please help me, and let me know how I can contact you???
I am 55 days free of Diet Coke- What a huge addiction that was and I had no idea until I quit. It was not easy but I will never go back.
its freaking addictive and im having a hard time getting rid of it..best I can do is have it 2-3 times a week from twice a day....
Yes, I agree that Diet Coke is so addictive! I was for years and am now free of it. It is so bad for one’s health!
I am 4,745 days free from of all soda.
I'm 5+ years diet coke free. It's almost as bad as coke, as although it doesn't have many calories, it makes you hungry and I think it is a dieretic.
I no longer recall how long I've been free of soda addiction. Since 2005 for sure, but maybe as far back as the turn of the century. Thankfully, once cravings completely go away, which admittedly takes a while, it's smooth sailing so long as we don't falter in our commitment to better health and don't mind p*ssing-off friends, acquaintances, and family members when necessary.
I had arthritis for 30 years. 4 years ago, I quit added sugars and my pain greatly decreased. 2 years ago, I quit grains and my pain disappeared. I am 73.
Same here, but I also quit statins. I'm 75 with no joint or muscle pain.
@@ronaldlenz5745 Fortunately, I never took statins, which I believe to be poison. They prevent your body from making essential cholesterol and vitamin K2, leading to early dementia and osteoporosis. I am so pleased to hear about your results.
Congrats. I'm just 4 weeks into Keto/Carnivore. I'm tired of pain.
Wish me luck.

Hi there..Im going on 2nd yr of drs not knowing what is wrong with me. Started with GERD, then symmetrical joint pain everywhere, then a rash which is mild visually but more like systemic and is affecting joints.. Sugar/carbs really affect it, especially at night. I am on an antibotic for possible SIBO. Any advice for me? I'm looking for help from people who have been in my shoes. My diet is quite restricted due to GERD. Did more food restricting to see if food intolerances..nothing really stands out, some gas with dairy and oils. Taking plant enzymes which really help. my labs are normal!! This man has changed my life! I've been following his advice on nutrition and fasting for over a year. I'm 30 pounds lighter, leaner, feel better, and look younger. Once you realize a lot of our food is poison and adapt to healthy foods, there's no going back.

A friend of mine weighed 260 pounds at age 50 a couple years ago., Less than a year later, he was just under 200 pounds. I was flabbergasted at the improvement. I asked him how he did it.
he said, the only change to his diet he made was not smaller portions, not avoiding junk foods, not working out, the only change he made was, he quit drinking Coca-Cola. That is the only thing he did.
I was 264. At 50. Did almost exactly what your friend did. Nothing else. Now at 62 I'm at 204 lbs. It is slow but it stays off
Lol was that me? Do I know you??? That is my exact story!!!
@1Springloaded I was 315 and am down to 250 with my eyes on 220! Congratulations on the weight loss hopefully we can keep it off with just making good decisions.

I'm not a "conspiracy-thinker" , but seeing how much sugar is dumped in this world to all people, I start to wonder: WHY and to what purpose the industry keeps on doing this? Is it all just for the money? Is the sugar industry in fact also the owner of the pharmaceutical industry (and a hand full of politicians!)? I mean, is the solution to this problem brought to us by the same people that CAUSED all the health problems, so they can make money on both sides? Well, there's a thought! Greetings to y'all from The Netherlands!🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Yep, more disease more money. They don’t care about our health.
Hi from US ( Kentucky) I would say it’s for money. Sugar in everything here
Definitely about money and keeping people sick and reliant on their meds. Just research the Rockefeller connection to the pharmaceutical industry.
It is for money and weakening the populace of respective countries so they are easier to influence by outside factors, such as governments and large corporations. If you have a fat, weak minded and weak physically populace, they are much easier to control, and powerful people know this.
I think that here in the U.S., sugar subsidies should end. That won't happen and people need to educate themselves of the dangers of sugar.
I love you sir. You’ve helped me get my life in order. 33 year old black male, overweight and doctors told me it’s genetics. Blood pressure, cholesterol all in good shape. 180 from 250 in weight by following your videos.
It’s “easy” to fix those issues: diet and exercise. 4 months of diet and a little more exercising and my weight dropped 220 to 180, blood pressure 140/90 to 120/80, blood sugar A1C 7.7 to 5.8, and cholesterol 220 to 160. I almost totally cut out bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, sugar, soda and fast food from my diet. I craved soda for a while, I remember that.
@@theophilusconnor what are you eating then?
@@rmcf3972 Back then I ate mainly meat (very little beef, though), sardines, vegetables, eggs, fruit, and salad... often had a large bowl of oatmeal with dried cherries and walnuts for breakfast, a pound of steamed vegetables every day (no added salt or cheese or butter). No fried food, no french fries, no cheeseburgers ever. If I had pizza it was very thin crust and would toss away half the crust anyway. A few crackers and peanut butter for a snack. 2 oranges and 2 apples about 4 nights a week.
Overall it wasn't too hard. I didn't starve myself, just ate less fat and carbs (diet was motivated by diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes). I'd say I cut my food intake by 1/4 to 1/3, and walked a good bit more.
I lost 20 lbs the first month, then 20 more over the next few months.
At 180 I felt light, but was also weak and kinda skinny - didn't like the feeling. I'm back up to 210 now, and eating a more typical, unhealthy American diet, including fast food and desserts and potatoes, etc.
33 yo White male, know your pain. Drop your advice below ppl, I saw Theos and will follow suit
@Theo Connor bro you're all over the place

I can do that so I figured it was just another person who could write backwards like me. Hmmm
I had loads of sugar intake from soda, chocolates and pastries until my BP rose to 160/70. Alarming so I had high blood meds for 3 months. I did diet modification and daily low impact cardio after my BP went down as low as 129. No more sugared drinks and high sodium foods. I chose movements as my meds. Thanks doc for these facts all about sugar. Great help to us.
160 /70 is a good reading
120/80@@marcushenderson6871
It's not regular table sugar that's the issue. It's high fructose corn syrup that's the issue. Videos like these never make the distinction and talk about high fructose corn syrup like it's identical to cane sugar
I ate the same sweets plus fast food and severe alcoholic. Blood pressure hit 230 over 170 and had a stroke. Told heart was bad, needed a liver transplant and kidney transplant. Quit drinking and eating healthy. 10 yrs later still alive and got tested like 2 yrs ago. Liver is almost back to normal, kidneys good and heart getting better. Was on 4 blood pressure/ water pills and now 0. Amazing what eating locally sourced healthy foods can do. Take a person on deaths bed and make them live another 20 yrs
@@marcushenderson6871i thought 120 over 80 was good.
I remember growing up in the 60s soda was something we only got at birthday parties. Times have certainly changed.
Although mother thought soda was bad, she cringed when I drank unsweetened tea. She also baked beautiful cakes made with very hard margarine, lots of sugar and trans fats.. In the 60s and 70s. Eggs were bad because of cholesterol; she only ate egg whites. Also religiously took any medication doctors choose to prescribe; for her doctors were gods - miracle makers and never to be questioned. Plenty of white flour, too. I am glad I am still alive. We are discovering problems with food all the time. I don't blame mother who had no internet to educate herself and that knowledge didn't even exist.
In the 70's, we got a cup of Pepsi once a week with a pizza as a family get-together and treat. My mother held down the sugar consumption because the dentist was expensive!
Cola cigarettes and weapons are
something the world doesn’t need.
Right..party drinks!
I grew up as a kid in the 90s and even then soda wasn't like it is today. It was considered a "once in a while" thing. I see young kids at my kid's school walking around with soda now. Other than tea and water it's the only thing you can order at most restaurants- yet at the grocery store there's probably 1,000 different beverages you could buy. Our system is extremely messed up.
my grandpa drank 3 cokes a day and lived to be 98 years old. and only ate mostly bacon and pig fat and toast. crazy but true.
Crazy, but for some people 🤷🏻♂️ 🤣
Did he raise his own pigs ? If so, it makes sense .
Did he raise his own pigs ? If so, it's not unbelievable
Maybe had his own garden too ?
My Aunt lived to be 101. She basically ate a Polish diet and had a vodka and squirt every afternoon.
So what are we supposed to drink??? Just water???
Yes, you will live longer
Beer. Kidding.
4oz of juice a few times a week. Preferably real juice. NOT bottled natural as it is usually pasteurized. We squeeze our own.
just drink your own saliva
black coffee and tea bruh
Remember! Drink whatever you want to drink! However if you're earnest about health, then That is the focus and not so much yummy drinks or what we have always drank.
For Instance, I loved veal. Ate it as much as I wanted when in my youth. Then as it happened, I was working a construction job on a cattle/dairy farm. What happened to be next to me as I worked outside on the barn? Calf pens. For veal. And BOY! What an eye opener. I Loved veal parmesan. Stopped eating it dead in the tracks. Not do to Inhuman calf treatment,. Not enough.. but it was i learned what I was putting into my body. You only get one. And it has to last. And it will be good if we take care of it. Water? I add a couple of lemon drops(real) or berry drops. All sorts of creative ways to stay hydrated in a tasty but healthy way.
A friend of mine dropped 60 pounds in less than a year. The only change he made to his diet was, he eliminated drinking Coca-Cola. But there was a problem. He had to buy all new clothes.
I’m 24 now but, when I was 14 my football coach told me to stop drinking coke & sugary drinks & for some reason it stuck with me. now ten years later haven’t had a soft drink in over a decade. 😄
That coach was a life saver bro.
Nice! Wish I could say the same.
Bubbles in carbonated drinks give me the hiccups immediately. I can't drink anything that has bubbles, so it's been a natural saving grace for me LOL
How are you alive bro? 😂
Made coke with. No Sugar.
While I have been struggling with serious health issues and being overweight for decades I have never stopped trying to find a path to better health. In the last few years I started making some meager progress, eating less and trying to walk some, but my arthritis would always cause me to stop walking and the weight would return. A few months ago I started watching your videos and applied what I learned towards my efforts. I am now walking 5 to 7 miles a day and have lost about 40 lbs; 40 to go. My blood work improved tremendously and my BP is excellent. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate and admire you. You have made a real impact on my life. Thank you.
Thank you @ventureoffroad1326. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain the principles and mechanisms of health in such a way that you start gaining an understanding and respect for the miracle that is the human body. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and start owning the mechanisms we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄

1. How about Bubly? I'm talking about regular bubbly, the kind with zero sweetener of any kind, and no caffeine. I prefer Blackberry, Orange, Lemon, Mango, Raspberry, etc.. Orange and Lemon are impossible to find anymore.
2. I was always used to having coffee with Cremora or Coffeemate creamer, and standard table sugar. I brew my coffee very strong, using 1.8 to 2.0 times as many beans as recommended, dark roasts, fresh ground right before brewing. In a 24 oz. Thermos of that coffee, I used to use 4 teaspoons of sugar and 12 teaspoons of creamer. Over the years, I've cut back to 2 teaspoons of sugar and 8 teaspoons of creamer. I'll have one of those Thermoses of coffee per day. I always preferred powdered creamer because it didn't make the coffee cold.
3. Soda - I prefer regular 7UP and Canada Dry Bold, both of which have high fructose corn syrup. However, AT MOST I have one 12 oz. can every other day.
4. Gatorade - I only drink regular Gatorade, Orange, 20 oz., AT MOST one a day and only that much on the hottest, most humid summer days. If it's not super hot and humid, the only reason I'll have it at all is to take it a sip with vitamins so they go down more easily. Gatorade seems to be slippery and causes vitamins to go down without getting stuck in my throat.
5. Iced Tea - I like Pure Leaf Iced Tea with Lemon, 16.9 oz.. It has regular sugar. If I have one of those, it's at most one a day. I NEVER drink what they call sweet tea because it's far, far, far too sweet for me.
Other than coffee, of the things I listed above, if I have one kind, I won't have any of the other kinds.
6. Beer - I drink regular beer, e.g. Sam Adams Boston Lager or one of their seasonal varieties like Oktoberfest, Jack-O, Old Fezziwig, Porch Rocker, etc., and at most I'll have one or two of those before bed, and not every night. Usually it ends up just being one beer before bed.
I had some gunk on the lowest part of my fridge. It wouldn't come clean with surface spray, soaking in boiling Dawn dish soap water, nothing. I had a little bit of Pepsi and remembered hearing about Coke being used as a cleaner. I poured a little on and it wiped right up after about 30 seconds. I don't drink soda anymore after that
I just wish you could be plastered all over mainstream TV Dr. Ekberg. Our society is so loaded down with everything that is bad for your health. Thank you for putting that content out there. There are people who do pay attention, and our health has you to thank! Hoping you have a great weekend!

@@TheRexhimell,they might. But I believe the situation is so dire that we need to be aware!
I cringe when I see folks who can barely walk( or on those scooter carts) loading up on massive amounts of soda.

This is the first time I've commented on your channel since finding you 4 months ago. About 6 months before that, I went to the doctor and discovered I was "prediabetic". I was 285lbs at 35yo and 6'1". I tried and tried to adjust my diet according to my doctors recommendations and had no luck with weight loss whatsoever. After I found your channel (December 2022), I have binged your videos. Your ability to explain the body and its processes has been amazing. I've learned so much that I never even knew, and my doctors have never told me. Through my new understanding of the processes of the body, I have been able to adjust my relationship with food drastically. In the past 4 months, I have lost 32lbs. I sleep better, my workouts are better, I have more energy than I have in 10 years. I truly appreciate what you do. Sharing your knowledge has completely changed my life, and it truly makes me look forward to the future of my health like I never thought I could.

I'm 70..stop drinking coke when I was 13, after reading an article in popular mechanics magazine on how using Coca-Cola to remove rust and pitting from chrome and other car parts.
Yes but it doesn’t remove rust
And battery acid too . Coke melts off battery acid around the cables.

Hello Dr Eckberg, we missed you.
Yes, drinks are very tricky , have lots of hidden sugars and artificial ingredients.
We were always told that orange juice is the best choice with breakfast, but not told that is full of sugar and added sugar, which leads to insulin resistance and obesity.
My choice is and always will be water and mineral water.
I would like to mention, 1year ago, i had diabetes 2, was obese, than I found your chanel, since then, I reversed my insulin resistance, lost over 60 lbs, never felt better.
Thank You Dr Eckberg, for wat you doing , spreading awareness and knowledge to many of us.

Thank you @ballkans for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄
One summer I got in the habit of having (original) Coke instead of coffee.
I kept a carton of cans in the fridge at all times; as a result I drank 2-3 cans a day nearly every day.
After awhile I started getting the most unbelievable muscle cramps that would come almost out of nowhere. Absolutely excruciating and unstoppable for several minutes at a time.
Stopped drinking Coke.
Stopped getting cramps.
My guess is that drinking too much Coke or any soft drink actually causes dehydration which leads to muscle cramps.
yeah....not the coke man but dehydration. ya gotta drink like 4x water than you drink soda everyday lol. thats what I do at least....and no sugar dosent rot your teeth...what rots your teeth is a high sugar diet and lack or oral hygiene.
Thank you @BWater-yq3jx. Glad you figured it out. Cramps or not, Coke is not anything you want in your body 😄

@@deborahlozano7134 Tell me you are being sarcastic? All soda is bad. Plain good filtered water is about it, maybe some herbal tea with no sugar. Maybe coffee with no sugar.

Anyone with any common sense would know that but not many have that today 😊
I only drink water and two cops of coffee on business days. I'm trying so hard to remove alcohol on weekends.

If you really like a fizzy drink, squeeze a quarter of an orange or half a lime into a glass and fill it up with Soda water. Soda water has no sugar in it. I have a lime tree so I quite often do that with my limes. So if you drink a liter of fizzy drinks during a summer gardening session.... You've only consumed a single orange or a couple of small limes. The tart citrus is more refreshing than anything sweet.
I almost didn't watch this because I knew that I was not consuming anything on this list. I am so glad I watched. I finally understand what the problem is with fructose. Note to self: never skip a Dr. Ekberg video! Thank you so much, Dr Ekberg.
Same here, I even didn't know some of these 'drinks' existed.
I have bad sweet tooth and I drink orange juice, fresh or directly pressed. Never a 'juice' substitute. Still I am amazed it's on the list as natural juice has minerals and vitamins.

This is the first time i found your channel, thank you ,this encourages me. I am 65 yrs. Old and 120 lbs. overweight and very addicted to sugar. I am changing my eating but I've eaten like this so long it is a new learning process.
I would love to hear what you suggest for alternatives to bad food and drinks.
Many times we hear what not to eat and drink, which is good, but I'm not sure what to replace these with.
Thank you!
25 years ago, I was addicted to Diet Coke when it had aspartame in it. I had no conscious limit and drank many of them a day. Slowly, I started getting weak & shaky, almost MS-type symptoms. I ran into a researcher at work one day who was doing a paper about aspartame and it’s neurological effects on humans. I read the paper & decided to stop drinking Diet Coke. To my surprise, the neurological symptoms I had reversed in less than 3 weeks.
I only drink water, coffee with stevia & real heavy cream (2 cups in the morning), or unsweetened tea. I’m convinced that all these drinks are slowly killing us in one way (sugar) or the other (chemicals).
Do not use stevia, aspartame or other sugar substitutes as they are TRANS molecules which your body cannot digest; which means they produce free radicals..Free Radicals become cancer. The body can only digest CIS molecules such as regular organic sugar, however a healthy choice is brown sugar, but use it to a minimum.
I learned to drink my tea with no sugar which I love and coffee with a little bit of milk. Cheers.
Eat straight veggies and drink water. Chips and soda shouldn't be at schools.
Yes...soda is poison. I about fainted when I read that 8 year Olds here in good old USA were being diagnosed with fatty livers.
80's people! Diet coke sipping and Rolex wearing.
aspartame is thousand times sweeter than sugar, some people are allergy
My life here in Nicaragua has changed so much for the better because of your advice. I will forever be grateful.
I was diagnosed with NAFD. I have given up soda, ice cream, cakes, pies pastries, cookies, chips, you name it. If I go to the Sonic it's for unsweetened tea. No fast food, period. No eating out. But I'm not giving up my coffee creamer!!!!!!
Don't care what u drink, my uncle drank Scotch t w beer chaser, every day, died at 93 never was sick ..go figure
I recently stopped drinking Coca Cola and lost 25 lbs in less than a month. I had no idea it was the cause of my weight. Sugar is a serious problem.
My ex wife was 5'1" 105 pound beauty when we got married in 1994. She was on the upswing with weight and downswing with health when we divorced 14 years later. She basically lived off coke and fries and potato chips. Coke within reach all day everyday every waking hour. Present day: she is 49 probably weighs 230+ and has had BOTH hips replaced already and still same diet. It is really sad.
Sounds my ex husband. In his late 40s weighed 320 ( 5 ft 10) had 3 heart attacks went on disability at 50. Now at 60 he had his leg taken off. Also heavy smoker in poor health starting at 33 old. He went downhill fast. At 20 he weighed 180 and hiked 3 times a week. People need to take care of their selves.
@@robinholbrook8296 I know its sad when it is totally in someone control to stop and fix it. Eating/sugar addition is as bad as drug addition.
@@rollingwiththepunches1988 Menopause is easier if you are healthy going into it.
That is probably a good percentage of Americans now very sad, my x gf from California was 180 5'1 at 32 yo. Very worried about her but without self Discipline you can't help these people
@@robinholbrook8296 definitely!
Jag tycker den har video ar riktig bra. Den har hjalp mig forstar vad jag behover att undvika. Tack!
This is the best channel I have seen regarding nutrition. I'm 38, with following his videos and some knowledge I've had prior to these videos (which is congruent with what he says) I went from a blood pressure from 140/90 to just under 120/80 in over a week. Cut out all bad food overnight, I measured my blood pressure 5 times a day, I could see it fluctuate down-wards every day. For the last 3 days it has been an average below 120/80. I did have minor migraines and hunger pangs but I think that is just due to my body adapting not eating so much sugar and processed carbs.
I just want to say thank you for your free kind health advices. It helped me a lot. My fatty liver is gone after 6 months of consistent diet and exercising. And also fasting. I lost 70 lbs in 4 months and if you want to see my before after photos I can send you. Just wanted to say keep doing what you’re doing. You are helping guys like me who want to change and become better. Thank you.
Stay healthy man ❤
CONGRATULATIONS 🎊
Hi Dr. Sten,
My name is Nizar and since I discovered your channel, I became addicted to your contents and the way of presenting the health subject made me realize many health factors and even how corrupted the food industry we live in all over the globe.
What I would like to say is thank you for changing my mindset by getting healthy rather than thinking only to lose weight. This is really the secret that is hidden to most people.
Being healthy is difficult to me before with all the temptations out there in every corner and in every occasion.
People eat McDonald's now a days and order apple juice with the meal and they think they ate a normal nutrius meal.
I have changed my mindset as it became the new foundation stone for the life style and I am really happy, why ?
Because I don't feel deprived any more and even not hungry, instead more focused and healthier.
All those past years we were living in an ignorance and watching our beloved ones get diagnosed by diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, cardio vasculaire diseases, and the list goeas on and on and on... Thinking that it is eventually every person path way and there are now ways to get out it or live healthy for the rest of our lives.
Wow exceptional post
Mindset very good wording🎉
I grow lemongrass in my large garden. I boil it in bunches and drink one large glass everyday. I can't tell you how much better and energy I have from this. My wife said my skin shines. I started drinking this in January of this June of 2022. IMHO it's the true fountain of youth. I'd love to see some studies on this. BTW, I'm 64.
Never heard of doing that. Will look into it!
AWESOME PROGRAM. THANK YOU DR. STEN FOR SHARING.
Thanks for a great video. Grew up in the 1960s where water and milk were the daily drinks. Occasionally there was juice. Once, or twice a year there was pop. Fortunately, I find the well water at home is the most satisfying drink for thirst.
In college, I stopped drinking all drinks but water and lost 15lbs from that alone. I still have no idea why I decided to do it one day, I just realized I didn’t need it. I saw from that how much weight sugary drinks kept on me.
I bet your wallet got heavier, I too drink water or unsweetened coffee in the AM. I make that coffee at home as well. I can't imagine how much money people waste at Starbucks and Juice shops. I figure I can take at least one really nice vacation a year with the money saved.

So beside spring water what is left to drink?
what a great teacher, actually the best one I have ever met, as I can see your genuine contribution to human health and humanity. Please keep posting
Thanks doc as always you take the time to explain. Step by step why something is good or bad for the body. You have made such a difference in my life and I am so blessed to have your posts to constantly go over as a reminder. Thank you for taking the time and effort in presenting these post's.. You are amazing!❤
Repetition, repetition, repetition is the key to learning. Thank you so much Dr. Olympiad for the continual reinforcement of your teachings. You have no doubt extended many lives and increased the quality of many more with your down to earth explanations of very complex subjects. You are truly a blessing to those who will listen. All I can say is shame on our FDA and Department of Agriculture for creating the completely inaccurate food pyramid, they got it about as wrong as they could have. BIG MONEY, BIG PHARMA! America needs more people to listen to you and your peers or we will never reverse the type two diabetes epidemic, not to mention cardiac disease and hypertension too. God bless you.
Great video! new to this channel. As a Spanish citizen fresh orange juice is a must specially in summer, it would be great to have even more details about fresh juices, their effects and how to control them. Thanks!
Thanks for this amazing video, dear Dr Sten!😊
I stopped drinking Coke and Pepsi among all soda/pop rust removing beverages over 20 years ago! As I was addicted to them. I am sure it is one of the main reason why I do not suffer from high blood pressure, glucose issues among other things. Glad I made that choice.
I love the way Dr.Sten breaks it down. I could sit here all day. His voice and tone are perfect for teaching
Yes, this is true😊 Sooo very true🌹🌹🌹
Yes, this is true😊 Sooo very true🌹🌹🌹
Thank you very much Dr. Ekberg for your free UA-cam health videos.
I hope you could make another version of your good and bad food healtn videos for us seniors. The version should be shorter (not more than 20 mins for easier retention of information. Less technical terms, shorter explanation and witn a brief text summary of the main information at the end of the video.
Thank you for your consideration Dr. Ekberg. God bless !
So pretty much only drink water?
You can filter that water through some ground beans or crushed leaves, and you'll be happy, dammit!
I am drinking only water and real coffee, sometimes I drink green tea. No sugar in coffee and tea
Good for you @pedjamanasijevic8693 😄
@@drekberg Thanks man. From 2008, when I was feeling really bad, I had fog in the brain I stopped with soda drinks completely. 15 years no sugar soda drinks. Btw I am fasting regularly for more than 3 years and playing tennis club league.
Thanks for posting this!! In January 2022 I eliminated flavored coffee creamers after many years of using them. Also, about 10 years ago I stopped drinking caffeine free Diet Coke which I drank for nearly 25 years!! Was so addicted I drank about 6-8 cans a day and yes it was mindlessly drinking. Disgusting.
Also in January 2022, I stopped adding fruit juice to my filtered water and replaced it with fresh lemons and limes. That’s all I drink now all day and night. Along with other diet changes like avocado salads and Greek yogurt w fresh berries I’ve lowered my A1C from pre-diabetic 6.5 to current 5.4 over a span of about 2 years. I’m no longer pre-diabetic and feel great!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼
Thank you for this body of very practical and important information.
Dr Ekberg explains data in the best way i have ever heard. I learned a lot from 2 of his videos, so I'll be listening to all his videos.
basically drink clean water .. and that's it
Good for you @VadimkaMr. 😄
Some water, or maybe it is sometimes, water is great. Other times not so much.
I drink filtered water.
With a little salt.
I stopped drinking all fluids except water about 5 months ago. I feel completely different. No crash's, no headaches, my skin looks healthy and bright. Wrinkles seem less noticable. Very Happy I made the switch. Jesus is Leading me and I am sooo much happier ❤
Me too I stopped drinking all carbonated beverages more than 10 years, only drink water or green tea 👍
You are leading you. Give yourself some credit.
Thanks for the reminders Dr.
Thanks for the video. I was watching this in the livingroom and my husband who is a chemical engineer was so convinced by your explanation of glucose and fructose molecules that he dumped out the cans of soda he had in the fridge 🙌
Nice!❤
I am an almost 70 woman with 5 ft stature and carry too any extra lbs. I have struggled with extra weight since my early teens when knowledge of sugar’s negatives were not very prevalent. I have also lived my life with some sort of food restriction and a very active sweet tooth. I drink 1 cup of coffee per day with ethrytol and stevia sweetener and cream but the rest of my day is plain warm water with a T of lemon juice or green/ chamomile tea, no added ingredients. For a treat I have about 4 ounces of ginger ale soda. In summer I make my own green tea beverage without added anything, just chilled. I have dealt with IR since my mid childbearing years . I continue to learn and try to control the sweet tooth and treat my body with love.
I stopped drinking everything besides water 2 years ago, and it was honestly a great move, you can notice the difference in natural energy. 💧
The title is a bit click bait tho, it said that this drinks you should never drink while he also said that drinking juice occasionally isn't bad.
@@obliviongigan6360 he said you can drink it once in a while as a treat but ideally you avoid it completely, so he still recommend to never drink it
Excellent breakdown, very good detail.
This was nice to hear and cool visual.
Can't go wrong if you only drink plain or carbonated water!
@@setapart2879No it's not.
Thank you @thereligionofrationality8257. Maybe with a squeeze of lime 😄
@꧁༒Set Apart༒꧂ Please explain, fact-based if you can. Thank you.
What about unsweet tea?
@꧁༒Set Apart༒꧂ I also have been researching on whether carbonated water is bad for the health. It seems you have found some evidence/study on that, please share.
Dr. Ekberg, I have been following you for quite sometime, and have to reiterate that you are such a brilliant teacher. I like understanding the "why". You further the depth of my knowledge and understanding which results in better health decisions and choices. Thank you.
I drink black coffee and water. I only eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Some people say that I'm missing protein, and im unhealthy. Meanwhile, they are bloated, overweight, and emotionally unstable.
Like many others, I have benefited greatly from your knowledge and ability to teach the basic nutrition and health principles in a, dare I say, highly digestible fashion. Thanks for everything, Doc!
I'm kinda freaked out and amazed by Dr Ekberg's backwards handwriting facing the screen. Impressive. Never seen anyone do that on UA-cam before.
Yeah. And even the rear writting is special too. He points the finger at the writting so it must have not been edited later on in the video and words keep zooming in whenever required. So great.
@Hitesh Marvaniya it's mirrored later. That's why the sugar bag writing is mirrored.
Thank you @cy6412 😄
Thank you @wocket42. LOL. I cringed when I saw that on the bags, but it was too late to change it. 😄
As a diabetic I’ve come to learn to only drink water, unsweetened black coffee (about 2x month) and unsweetened tea. Took awhile to get used to but I can drink it ☕️.
I have always drunk that. It's much better to my taste buds.
Good job!
I aint a diabetic but after I tried fasting for 2 days. After that Ive never gone back to adding sugar to anything. Fasting just made me appreciate the taste of coffee for what it is. If I wanted something sweet Id take hot chocolate or whatever. But coffee is coffee.
@@kornelobajdin5889 good job! I removed added sugar from diet after my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and then did calorie counting and I lost 92 pounds in 18 months.
@Prodigious1One hopefully you didn't starve yourself too much because that can worsen your metabolism
Thank you Doc for informing the public! I stand informed!
Great video! This is what our GOVTs should be putting out to the masses!!!!
I can sum in up in three words. Just Drink Water. I know it’s super hard to do but if you want to live, it’s just what you gotta do. Thanks for this video!
“Can I please have a cup of Diabetes to go?” 😂 Made my day, thanks Dr Sten! Great educational wry-flavored video as always!
😂😅
Thank you @blackmMik for letting me know. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.😄
Can l have a cup of diabetes to go. Haaaa
I know its a funny joke but seriously to anybody thats type or even pre diabetic do everything in your power to reverse it, get it in remission or under control because diabetes is NO joke!
That's what I said about the soft pretzels management provides for employees as a treat. I called it "diabetes in a box".
Excellent presentation as always.
Thank very much for sharing this with us
Yay! I actually avoid every drink on this list (except for a special occasion coffee drink on my birthday). I used to drink most of these regularly, but over the last few years have really tried to clean up my diet. This is such important information. Thank you for not only sharing the list, but the WHY behind it. It’s actually quite sobering when you understand how hard some of these things are on your body.
I enjoy half the drinks on the list But I also make sure to drink plenty of water as well to help flush me out. These drinks are only bad if you over consume without drinking enough water.

That’s all I drink is water even in restaurants
Hi Ms. Valerie that is so awesome. Congratulations 👏 🎊 how did you do it I tell myself if I can quit cigarettes I can kick my soda well let's just say it's not working out 😂😂 I need I hate water!!
IF YOU WILL NOT DRINKS THAT YOUR HAIR WILL PULLING AND YOU BECAME BALD FOR LACK OF SUGAR.
For anyone who says the word
HATE
U will not get very far
I has t eliminate that word t fit into a new lifestyle
Best t say sort of casually
Oh, I don't really care f that but I will try it
Got me thru a rough time😂❤🎉😮
This is such an extremely good explanation about sugars and the different types there are and why one is worse than the other. This is the first time that this is explained so well
I love listening to Dr erberg. He is so good at explaining. I have improved my food intake along after listening to him.
Great video. 👍
Just wanted to THANK YOU’ I am 64 and needed to hear this, I am committed to lowering all my sugar intake from this day forward.
Thank you Dr. Ekberg for another gem of knowledge. I have been following you for a couple of years now (and with great results) and everytime i think i know everything there is to know about a topic, sugars in this case, you upload a video and explain the finer points about it. As I always say, you are truly a gift to mankind doctor. Thank you once again. Your lectures should be part of school curriculam so that kids can learn the right thing before the food and pharma industry corrupts their minds.
I'm soo glad I stopped drinking soda years ago...black coffee or water for me..also when I stopped eating anything with sugar I lost a little weight and I feel soo much better....great tip Dr.
Thanks for your share DR❤
I’m 65 and I can remember my grandfather telling me and my grandma when we was walking to the grocery store for her not to get one of them dopes I swear he called cokes and I remember him complaining that other people that worked around him drinking and things all day long and couldn’t do the job.
Thanks for sharing @stephendavidcavuoti6548. You come from a long line of wise folks. 😄
@@drekberg when was the last time you drank full fat coke?
Because it was common to add Bromide to the drinks. People would feel tipsy but the real damage was to the thyroid.
If Iodine is low, Fluoride, Chloride, Bromide or other Halides will reside there. We've always been poisoned for different reasons but it's much worse today.
My grandparents also called sodas dopes...of course my grandma remembered the time when coca-cola had actual cocaine in it, so the term was accurate when she was a child.
My jaw just dropped!
i do natural honey from where i live and it has helped with my allergies especially during the change of the season one small bottle last me the whole year. from your video it seems that’s just fine. I already knew most of the other stuff. but it’s good to get a refresher
Wonderful lecture. Thank you very much
I drink water, coffee with cream or green tea. To jazz things up I sometimes add fresh lemon juice to the water, or, if I'm at a party, I drink carbonated water and add ice and a slice, call it a GnT and it stops people forcing alcohol on me! I'm in my mid 50s but look mid 40s and I'm on no medications. It's worth it.
For a long time I have been making my own kombucha, kefir drinks with hand picked berries that we picked when in season. I make my own vinegar, I grow Most of my herbs for tisane, and water is my main drink. Like you said. I only add half teaspoon of my own concentrated soleil water ( organic unprocessed sea salt and Himalayan salt) sometimes I add a few dried hibiscus petals to taste or some mint leaves ( I have a variety of mints).
Great Video - I am starting to share things I have learnt which have transformed my health and fitness too.
I love explanations like this. I feel a difference erge to improve what I consume now
