    谢谢你 玲玲!这个视频太好了!
Really appreciate that you are sharing your lovely experience 😃 some points I find really extraordinary:
    1. your have developed a neutral Point of view. In the video you mentioned some aspect which have to be improved in China, then you showed that you thought about why these issues happed. It’s really valuable that you try to dig the background 😊
    2. you value the diversity in China. Most non-Chinese don’t know how diverse China is - the ethnical groups, regions, traditions etc. Each time i talk about China with non-Chinese I emphasise this point.
Keep gather experience in China, especially in Beijing, my home town 😁 and more importantly, enjoy life! Wish you also a lot of success for your book!

You can't really teach creativity. I've seen classes for it here in Melbourne, in the Chinese school. It doesn't work.
The problem with Chinese education is they grind the creativity out of students. Like you said, they need to allow students to ask questions. Students need the freedom to learn on their own, rather than memorizing stuff.
When I was in school, I would constantly point out mistakes the teacher made. The teachers didn't get upset about this, but were happy I was paying attention. This is something China needs.

Interesting to know the LORD God hath chosen a Chinese to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The chosen one is from
China, a nation “more in number than any people”.
    From the Bible (KJV):
Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

I think they should teach critical thinking to the Chinese students. They don’t really encourage people to question anything or think independently about anything in China. 😕

Kaisa . Maybe but it is doing well than India which is Democratic in innovation education and entertainment like video games and Chinese anime . My point is that it is still a developing Country , also if every one was too individual like western China would not have catch up so quickly.

China is a huge country with 1.4 billion people and very diverse culture so surely people have different experiences. From my own experience, I think it is fine when it comes to Math or Physics or other STEM subjects. Teachers usually encourage you to find different ways to solve one single problem and it is appreciated if you can find some creative methods to find the answer. And the most difficult problems often need you to think out of the box to get the solution. And you will be praised if you can find a better solution (more concise or easier to understand) than teacher's in the class. There is little to none "fancy" stuff like team projects or group discussion but to say that it is all rote learning is far from the truth.
liberal arts subjects is a different story though. There is always one single standard answer/solution. Tests and exams are all about guessing the intention of the examiners and reciting corresponding answers from the textbook. I would like more discussions in the class and less rote memorization.
That said, good teachers always use heuristic ways to teach their subjects. If all you can do is forcing students rote memorizing answers you will definitely be labeled as a bad teacher in China. And although critical thinking is not emphasized, it is not like people don't question things or have their own opinions and ideas. I do hope they can have more logic training for students and teach students to recognize logical fallacies and how to check facts.
