2 Wolves in 2 Days - Ontario 2022
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 бер 2022
- This is a predator management hunt in Ontario, Canada. The wolf population in Ontario needs to be managed for the good of other wildlife. A single grown wolf can kill an animal as large as a bull moose, and calves don't stand a chance. Hopefully the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will realize that reopening a wolf season in the Upper Peninsula could help restore the extremely diminished whitetail population.
Both wolves harvested in this video were taken with ethical, well-placed rifle shots that resulted in immediate non-suffering expiration. - Спорт
Was that a guide hunt if so what's the outfitter
What outfitter did you use?
Hallo what are you shooting for a caliber for Wolfhunting?
Did you use a guide ?
Great to watch. I used to moose hunt there a long time ago. What outfitter did you use?
Where in Ontario? Which outfitter?
You guys eat the wolf? What do u do with them after?
Great job boys!
What time of year was this ? (Sorry if I missed that detail)
Looks warm lol
What outfitter did you hunt with?
Nicely done!!!!
What Outfitter?
Good hunt! Beautiful, too. Nice hunter blind! Do you get the pelts? I like to hear the snow crunch.
Minnesota rancher,
Great hunt! My compliments to the outfitter that set you up. Great job!
Caliber?
Awesome! Love wolves, love their control even more!
What caliber rifle?......243?
Why?
@@michaelgibbs3011 just wondering what caliber you were shooting.
Just wondering what caliber? I use 204 for coyote hunting. Wondering if I can get away with that for wolves as well.
Good job on the wolves. Can't wait to see what kind of snowshoes you get for the future. Thanks!
I barely saw what you were shooting at.
What a couple of Beasts, the wolves weren't bad either LOL. Great Job!
What a world of difference a pair of snow shoes would have made. Honestly.
Absolutely fantastic hunt! I have Wolf Envy......twice! What did the animals weigh?
Did the moose population in ontario a big favor there men! Nice work.
Watching you guys trudge through the snow gives me even more appreciation for how well they thrive during such harsh winters. Great video!
The second one is funny. The looked it it forever and only when it moved did they know for sure. It’s amazing the stuff you can look over or make yourself think you see when nothing is moving.
those wolves are really big
sad day beautiful animal u get a thrill from this
All I can say is an awesome vid just try and remember the snow shoes... lol
Those jaws have a crushing force of what???
Good job !
Beautiful.
Good job 👍👏
Man those things are huge
I've deer hunted for 30 years but never hunted a predator. This looks wild and something I would love to do. Great camera work by the way. I've never seen a wolf in the wild.
So fun to watch....snowshoes?
Watching videos for years I have never seen people pursue Wolves.Thanx for expanding my horizons. ✌️
Bravo and with Crown Apple to boot, Excellent
2nd wolf is nice one. hope the fleas did not jump on your collar
What an awesome hunt. Nice job to you both.
Good job boys!😎👌 Congratulations 👏
That was awesome buddy! Thank you so much for sharing! I hope to hunt a wolf one day! Good luck with everything my friend!!
Awesome video. Well made. Congrats to both of you with a magnificent trophy and memories for life.
Thumbs up and greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Good video 😊😊😊😊 I m Malik Ammais Ali awan from Pakistan 🇵🇰💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞I love wolf
Awesome video Todd! You do a great job telling the story!
Nice video and congrats for the harvested wolves. I have always been reluctant to harm or kill animals if I’m not to eat them. That’s why, as much as I love fishing, I don’t personally catch and release since many fish don’t survive the stress. (I know many will be angry and say that the proper technique does not harm the fish etc....) I don’t judge if you do, it’s just how I do it personally and respect what others do if it’s done in a respectful and conscientious manner.
As a bow hunter I know wolf and fox are killers of the venison I care for and that harvesting some predators will certainly benefit other parts of the ecosystem.
Do you have any advice on how to make good use of a predator? I know I can tan the hide but is the meat even fit for human consumption? Do you know of some people that could take advantage of the meat? I can only think of feeding it to farm cats but there sure are other options.
P.S. the question is not to judge what others do. It’s because I do hunt small game and next time I see a predator I may take a shot. I want to know in advance what I’ll do as a next step to take care of the carcass. Looking to have opinion/expertise from the community ;)
Nicolas... keep the hide, and feed the ravens, they need to eat too
The animal won’t forgive you for killing it no matter what you do with its corpse. Would you forgive someone for killing your kids if they ate them? “Well I used their bodies”. It’s idiotic and based solely on extremely immature human emotions.
You kill things that need to be killed and don’t kill things that don’t. Moose populations in Ontario are extremely low. There is no excuse for killing a moose in this province right now no matter what you do with it. Wolf populations on the other hand are completely out of control. There are 14,000 wolves up against 100,000 moose. Wolves on isle Royale are killing 8.9 moose each on average. That means we have enough wolves in this province to completely eradicate every moose in just a year, and that’s what’s happening.
The only wolf that’s wasted is the one still breathing. You shouldn’t have to do anything with the carcass. The value in it is that it’s dead.
Dear Try This
First, maybe I wasn’t clear enough, let make it simpler for you to understand. I would not hesitate to shoot a wolf If I encounter one during season. I already have some ideas of what to do with the meat and know couple farmers. Like I stated before I was looking for other ideas from people more experienced than I am. I totally agree with you that moose populations are in decline and that lowering the number of wolves would be beneficial for a healthier game population. Were we differ is that my desire to make use of the animals I harvest is something I do for my own conscience, certainly not for the wolf’s feelings and I don’t judge you if it’s not your thing, please be open minded the outcome is the same, we both want to see wolf population decline.
In the grand scheme of things, we can argue if human intelligence and our ability to use tools like firearms, scopes and traps is only the fruit of evolution and makes it fair play for us to completely eradicate a specie we consider pest or perhaps overhunt a desirable one out of pure greed. Can I remind you of the near miss that is the American bison or of the definitive extinction of many more due to various human activity? Loss of habitat is a big cause of animal decline that many anti-hunter groups don’t even acknowledge they’re part of. This lost of habitat makes for weaker prey thus easy meals for predators like wolfs, better management of predator population via hunting is certainly a part of the solution.
On a final note, do you even know that wolves that we selectively bred to become dogs were a good help for civilisation expansion? From guarding from predators, to retriever dogs used in hunting to herding livestock, humans and wolves have a very profound common history. I don’t want a future where I must explain to my kids and grandkids why human slayed every wolf under the sun, I prefer one where I teach them how the food chain works and why we need to keep certain animals in check even if we’re not to eat them but always be respectful and try to make the best use of the carcass.
To go back to evolution and human intelligence, I think that with great power comes great responsibility.

@@nicolasgarneau4200 humans in the past managed wolves through denning. By going in and killing pups they could limit the wolf population while still maintaining pack structure and territory. The first dogs were wolf pups removed from dens for population control. As the Russians demonstrated, it doesn’t take many generations to completely change the look of an animal when you select for temperament.
I think that as humans who hunt at this point in history we should only kill animals if it benefits the ecosystem. In Ontario the only thing that you really can justify killing besides geese are fur bearing predators. To me I have a hard time killing an animal for meat.
Awesome trip.
Good thing your blind was built with wood....so the big bad wolf couldn't blow it down....lol
Never hunted in blind with just one tiny window. I couldn’t stand not being able to see to the side. Great stuff tho
damn that 1st wolf kinda rubbed out or got mange mites. Fire pit
Wolves are definitely one of my top species I want to hunt. They seem so majestic and beautiful. Hopefully one day
Does it make you feel like a bigger man to kill a wolf?.
every time!
Yep
They are simply disgusting
Don't be a moron wolves are not good for the environment.
The population is overgrown, needs to be controlled
I would of liked to hear the convo if when they walked up on it and it’s not a wolf haha
Welcome to Canada
is this legal
ofc bruh. Wolves are predators and they eat our food, so they need to be killed to keep a stability
less wolves = less angry mouths = more animals alive = more food for us
Hunting is always legal, that’s poaching which is illegal !
@@politicallyincorrectandpro5856 thank you..I just find it hard to gather the concept of killing for prideful reasons... as a sport... being ecstatic even overwhelmed with joy killing these animals... therapeutic and subsistence hunting hunting I understand but this I don't
Congrats to both of you on your success. It doesn't happen that way all the time. Ask me how I know lol.
Get yourself some cross country ski or snow shoes, a harness and an ice fishing tub sled or toboggan. Outside of that heated shack, seems like you have very poor gear.
Congratulations to both of you guys on your successful hunt. Great Shooting ! Beautiful footage of the Bald Eagle ! Keep on keeping on and Stay Safe !
Отличные выстрелы, шикарный трофей !
You sure it’s a wolf? Its a coyote. It’s a fucking wolf. Funny exchange.
I never was a fan of baiting but it looks like I might have to start doing it. Congratulations !
Congratulations.
fantastic
1:08 into it Done!..... you play their game you enable them!.... shame on you.....
Great vid!! Congrats
so nice i love it
Snow Shoes on the next one eh? lol
No snowshoes ? Seems basic.
How does wolf taste??or did you shoot it just because you have a gun??
Nice vid. Good thing rest of pack didn't show up while you are balls deep in that snow. You guy's would not stand a chance to runn or to stand ground with bolt action rifle hope you r packin backup.
I believe they would have just shot a bunch more wolves... balls deep in snow shootin' them...
@@zekethefishgeek8690 i respect ur opinion friend but fact is hunters do get f.. up by those predators good hunters to.
@@boskoromanic7425 What do you expect when you're in their house. You'd do the same if your home was invaded. Any hunter, good or not should know the risk of being attacked when they go into the woods. So don't blame the animals because you don't respect their space.

Et en plus fier de lui !.....
You do not be proud hiding like a scared Wetzel and then shoot why do not you fight with the wolf with your hands than I will be proud of you
I think you being proud is the last thing a wolf hunter is worried about
Take some snow shoes next time
Good job fellas! I have trapped, snared, and shot 42 Wolves over the years. The feeling never gets old!
What a hero...do they hand out medals for this?

Surely you can't eat 2 in one meal.....that's just greedy!
Are u dumb or what, he won’t eat the wolves. They’re predators and they eat our food, so they need to be killed to keep a stability
less wolves = less angry mouths = more animals alive = more food for us
Wolf populations are NOT out of control in southern Ontario and do not need hunting. Coyotes? Lots of them but, wolves? No. There has been no concern about needing predator management from wolves. They mostly feed on white tail deer and other smaller animals which we have in abundance. So sad to see you shot this animal for no good reason. What a shame.
Ok snowflake
Big ass wolf
Great job boys. Keep making awesome film. Don’t let the haters bother you. Can’t fault them for their ignorance on wild life management
Beautiful 🐺 wolf's
Human population of Ontario: 15,000,000. Wolf population in Ontario: 15,000. I wonder if an advanced civilization discovering earth today would feel the same way about us as we do about wolves.
The movie Predator comes to mind - an alien with advanced weaponry & technology hunting humans for fun.
We already have advanced civilizations hunting us… have u not seen how many people are killed everyday…
Moose population 100,000
Average moose killed per wolf on isle Royale 8.9
8.9 moose killed per wolf times 15,000 wolves equals 133,500 dead moose annually, clearly not sustainable.
Human harvest of moose 2022 3000
I dunno if another civilization would feel that way but I know for damn sure the moose hate the wolves more than they hate people.
As you so kindly pointed out the moose
Congrats guys I shoot them long range here in Alberta smart animals
Predator? at least the wolves only kill for survial. Looks like you are the predator
negative ghostrider... READ UP ON WOLVES...
Humans are the ultimate predators
Lmao the only thing that stuck with me through this whole video was the covid test to cross the border. Absolute ridiculous 🙄
You owe, your boy Trump got the vaccine and the booster ,right?
@@timeformegaman say what? I'm in Canada. I think you mean Trudope
I see comments about snowshoes but what the comment section is teeming of are snowflakes. If hunting videos upset you that much, why proceed to watch it? I don't get it. It would be like me going into a gay dating site (as a straight man) & preaching they should change their ways because homosexuality is wrong. My point is I'm not homophobic, I just don't like to see two guys kissing. So I try to avoid anything gay-related. Same concept. Hunting videos upset you? Don't watch them. Your opinions won't make hunters suddenly reconsider their life choices & stop hunting altogether.
😂😂 😢
I just read this entire thread, and it amazes me how uninformed some people are and they don't understand that wolves need to be managed ! several people have noted "that nature will balance itself out" not true, the wolves WILL NOT reduce their numbers until they have killed off EVERY , Moose, Elk , mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope , coyotes, rabbit , turkeys and every other living animal is gone.. every adult wolf will have 6-10 pups every spring , there is nothing controlling their population at all.
The lack of management of one species could make every other animal EXTINCT ! then what ? it's too late, because people thought they could manage wildlife with their emotions instead of their brains..
it is literally that simple..
All these bleeding hearts!! Beautiful, kill some more wolves. There are many places that have decimated game populations, because of wolves.
eh ? huuuuh!
Sickening
What cowards that shoot/ kills, what the hell are they even doing there, I hoope that "Karma" gets you🤬🤢

Why kill wolf? damn nasty have no heart
And remember, nature was thriving and in balance before humans started to "tame the wilderness"
No it wasn’t
booooooo
why you shootthem for
tell me please. what is your purpose for hunting wolves? I really want an honest answer...
"a beautiful majestic creature" soooooo...... you kill it? makes sense
The reason for having predator management is that the population doesn't over run itself. Starvation ,depredation and disease are what kills an unmanaged species. Trappers and hunters harvesting wolves allow the population to be healthier.
@@IronRanger271I know there will be 100s of 1000s of people if they knew you were employing this method will say clearly this method badly injures the animal traumatizing it for hours sometimes days before it finally meets its untimely execution. They will be disgusted with it because of this alone what would be your response to their feelings?
-you might say "well they don't know a dam how things work out here! and to stick to your cotton-pickin desk if you gotta problem with it.. " ? Do the current laws state you must kill the beast as quickly & humanely as possible?
Also just as clear is the government will never change laws to accommodate the animals so the generational mindset of hunters practicing in remote regions like yours will continue even if laws were changed and I'm definitely no hippy but I love my own animals as much but I am also a hunter but not for sport and I appreciate there is a practical reason for culling but this animal didn't look diseased or starved so it does not appear you're successfully targeting a specific breeds if those reasons you stated are true.
-Any animal can get caught in this trap can't it? everyone knows nature hangs on a balance of survival especially where mankind happens to lay his bed which is why Almighty God gave man the responsibility to be considerate of the beasts of the field while man has dominion over the earth until man meets his timely end on the last day when Almighty God sends His Son, not for peace but for war, to revisit the earth in person for the last time with His angels at His side to judge every causal word and action of every man in order to fulfill the ancient prophecy as it is written eons ago (JUDE 1.14)

-Are you ready to meet The Son of The Living God whom sees ALL things

Predators are self regulating....Go back to school and learn about Wolf ecology. There's no need for you to reduce their numbers.

Very bad
why are you killing??!!! I hope one day theses wolves have thier chance to be YOUR PREDATOR AND YOU THE PREY! GOD IS WATCHING!

Why hunt them? Wtf
Exactly....WHY?
too many and they start to eat then selves out of food... then they will starve.
@@zekethefishgeek8690 This is absolutely not true. Wolf populations fluctuate and stabilize according to the availability of prey, which in turn determines the number of couples that mate and rear cubs. Wolf hunters use the rhetoric that they are "helping" the natural order of things. By keeping their numbers low, they somehow think that a deer or moose tag will be easier to realize. Total BS. Wolves have only starved in Europe during the 18th century, when success of heavy Winters reduced deer and other wildlife populations. All wolves are equally opportunistic and can scavenge... They don't eat just deer/moose in Ontario. This is just an excuse to skin out a wolf and retain a pelt. And Zeke should study some wildlife biology ... As in opening a real book instead of parroting a favored talking point.
