Absolutely Brilliant! About 4 years later I discovered Oingo Boingo! This was of the best alternative bands of the 1980's. Still listening today and my children now love them.
You can hear Beetlejuice music throughout this. Danny Elfman is amazing. The Nightmare Before Christmas is genius. And listen to "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint-Seans, and you can see where Danny gets inspiration! I love all his music and wish he'd write a book on how he creates!

I may as well mention here that I once saw an amazing act on The Gong Show - it was a youngish guy dressed in a beautiful harlequin costume, playing what I believe was a mandolin and a harmonica on a rack he began playing “This Masquerade” a beautiful song written by Leon Russell some fifty years ago.. and *superbly* covered by Karen Carpenter in the early 70s at first, some audience members began to get a bit noisy - and even one of the judges seemed like he was going to gong the contestant, but the harlequin persevered and then began to play so beautifully that that even the audience quieted down… I was totally spellbound, and I believe most of the audience was, too - the harlequin never dropped his character for a second and began playing the most beautiful runs on his mandolin - twinning them by his amazing harmonica work I can’t recall if the harlequin won the show, but it was a performance I’ll never forget - has anyone seen it? I don’t believe there’s a box set of all The Gong Show episodes, otherwise I’d have to rent it and find that excellent mandolin and harmonica player!!
