I really love Danny Elfman. I so admired Danny Elfman in college during his Oingo Boingo days. His first four albums were (and still are) out of this world. What music!!
No yelling or clapping when he mentions his band Oingo Boingo - what a shame. I'm listening to their live version of "Ain't This The LIfe" from Urgh! a Music War - Not too many know about that version. If you do you are hereby given respect.
Some cheered. Honestly I feel as if many people forget he was a rock star in a band. Oingo Boingo was big, but not for an extended period of time. As soon as Elfman got the composing bug, the band kinda got dropped. But hey, Elfman's scores and magnificent so I think that trade off was worth it.
We are getting old. Millennials are taking over. But besides that, Oingo Boingo didn't get much exposure on radio and had limited MTV video play. In fact, it was movies that got them the most exposure (theme song to movie Weird Science, the "Dead Man's Party" song in the movie Back To School). They were an extremely underrated band and he was an underappreciated musical genius back then. One of many stranded from that era until others found their talent. The sad thing now is that there ARE no more musical geniuses to tap from these days. Welcome to the Millennial generation.
Nfarce Aww, c'mon man...Kanye West...just ask him. =) I agree with your take on things. You mention he was one of many who were unappreciated. Who else did you have in mind? I'm not calling you out, just hoping you will spark a memory of an artist I'd forgotten.
I remember a time in the late nineties when I realized that every movie I saw in a theatre was "Music / Soundtrack by: Danny Elfman". It became a joke! Before a movie started, my husband and I would sit there and bet on whether or not Elfman did the soundtrack (I mean, he couldn't possibly do them ALL!!??) and, I kid you not, every damn time this man's name came up on the screen.
Just saw Oingo Boingo Former Members perform in Phoenix and although Danny wasn't part of it, Brendan McCreary was amazing and it was a celebration of Oingo Boingo's best. Im so grateful for having had the chance to experience the joy of my favorite music live again! Bunch of silver foxes bouncing around like kids, we were!
I watch Wednesday on Netflix and it is so funking awesome and amazing and funny and I Love Danny elfman he is a funking God and angel y'all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I don't understand how Craig Ferguson has worked with Richard Elfman and not know about his most iconic film (The Forbidden Zone). Beats me! Love forbidden zone
Wow I feel he was really nice about his brother. Richard is pretty whacko... but Danny was totally cool about it, not bashing him at all, even though he easily could have because Craig kept reiterating how much of a whacko he was. But Danny never took the bait. Props
When your family is wealthy, there is generally more room for artistic nurture, which the Elfmans were lucky to have. Not every talented person has the privilege of "18 year old world traveler to visit my brother in paris" experience.

Recorded it off TV airing. Respect back at ya.
Saw them live many times - my favorite band for sure in the 80s.
Oingo Boingo Rocks!

I was there!
He says, "I was in a band, Oingo Boingo." Aaaand nobody claps or responds. What the serious fuck?!? Something is very wrong with the world.

eqsheiky - Oh jeeze...Billy Squier, Aldo Nova are two off the top of my head right now. Give me time I'll dig up more.
I'm 16 and I absolutely love Oingo Boingo.
20 years old, huge fan of Oingo Boingo. In case you were scared it was all dying off. However, I do wish they'd received more appreciation as well.
One of the great all-time geniuses.
Oh, I love Danny Elfman ❤.
Same.
Same here !!!!! What a genius.
Matt Groening probably gave a bad review because “Little Girls” hit too close to home.
Damn it’s too bad man. I loved Matt Groening, too bad he was buddies with Epstein.
@@YMPictures At least Danny never went on that plane.
eww saw that one! creepy

Thank you!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Two of my favorite people!
Great interview. Thank you for posting this video.
God, I looked so hard for this! Finally.
you wasted your time. sad ending stupid, saw him at least 5 times with Oingo Boingo,

His music rocks
I loved and will still listen to Oingo Boingo!!!
This is the most entertaining interview with Danny Elman I've ever seen!
elfmans music is awesome.

"You've got to whittle that down a bit if you want to make any money."
Great interview, but I would have loved to have heard more. Quite a genius and very amusing!
Wait, he wrote the soundtrack for The Final Sacrifice. A Canadian classic.
First episode of Craig's show I remember seeing. Nice to see this interview again. I love that Craig worked with his brother :D.
Oingo Boingo. 😎
I love him mentioning Richard! That's so cool I did not know Ferguson had a tie to the Elf Man
I miss Craig Ferguson.
I actually wish they'd had a song together. They're both great singers.
How did I not know Craig played in Elfman's movie? I need to see it asap!
which one
world's shortest interview.
I watch Wednesday on Netflix and it is so funking awesome and amazing and funny and I Love Danny elfman he is a funking God and angel y'all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
danny elfman should have a cup of coffee with elton john
i think they would get along
sames
Just what are you inferring, sir?! Danny has been happily married to Bridget Fonda since 2003, and was married with children previously.
You can get coffee with gay people without it being a date.
Anthony Super True, I just was a little rankled by the implication. I saw no other reason for his remark.
Lisa Parker because Danny resembles Elton
It kills me that they just gloss right over The Forbidden Zone. Yeah, it is profoundly un-PC these days, but it is still soo good.
A lot of counter culture stuff was like that, by modern standards. Love Forbidden Zone.
I don't understand how Craig Ferguson has worked with Richard Elfman and not know about his most iconic film (The Forbidden Zone). Beats me! Love forbidden zone
ur lying. it sucks so badly
saw that! danny was robbed of screentime by herv villachez. no disrespect btw
On your advice, I'm gonna watch it. Thanks, friend.
Forbidden Zone is a great film.
! Best, Very Best

His family wasn't that wealthy. He went to a school that was majority black.

@@Alice-gd4sx It's an unfortunate fact in this country that schools with more black students tend to have less money.

Out of time?? Make time. As if there’s a more interesting guest you could have to interview.
Desperate Housewives music score.
Love Craig, huge bummer it turns out the other guy is such a creep given all the lawsuits about his predatory behavior coming out.
