      Could you make some material about backhand flick like Lin Yun Ju. When and how to use it.
      When keep bat flat, when one should increase the angle. How to flick ball with backspin, topspin, no-spin ball? Thank you!

    Thank you, Tom (& Beatrix) for your lessons! I´m trying to teach my grandchildren how to play table tennis (and learning myself with your videos). I really appreciate your explanations and tips. Hope you can keep this kind of video. Congratulations on your channel! Greets from Mty, MX.

    My daughter, 7, started to learn a couple of months ago. This is very helpful and interesting. I just realize how their behaviors are similar: my daughter likes to pick her nose too and she hits when I criticize her. The difference is my daughter is more angry and ferocious!

    What size table require to train 6 year old girl kid?

  • @vishuID
    @vishuID 2 роки тому

    Hi Tom, loved your video. Can I start with a midi size table for kid of year 6 ?

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  2 роки тому

      Yes you can. In some ways it is easier as the child doesn't have to hit the ball as far. But the child may out-grow the small table quite quickly. When a child is 7 or 8, they will be fine to use a bigger table.

    What do you think is a good rubber/racket for young kids?

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  3 роки тому

      The bat Beatrix is using here is the Bribar Pro Offensive Light:bribartt.co.uk/product/bribar-pro-offensive-light-table-tennis-bat/?ref=8204. This is maybe a little too fast, but it's very light and the blade handle is a little thinner, so it's easy for her to hold. It always strikes me as odd that we keep the dimensions of the table identical for all ages, especially the height
    It prevents really young kids to comfortably strike the ball in its natural trajectory, let alone the top of the bounce and also as they grow, they need to adapt a lot to the changing relative dimensions. Of course we can't have all types of sizes around for the occasion but at least height should be adaptable?

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  3 роки тому

      Yes, I have often thought that too. I've not seen a table with adjustable legs, but maybe there is one available to buy somewhere?

    Why is standing close to the net important when feeding?

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  3 роки тому +1

      If you fee closer to the net, you can hit the ball a little slower, which the child will find easier. As it is a shorter distance, the child usually finds it easier to get the right timing on the shot. When a child can consistently hit the ball at the right timing, then you can feed from further away (at the end of the table).
