The way her parents raised her and also the ppl and culture around her kinda forced her to grow up faster and aim high in life and work hard for it. I genuinely believe that she is not literally forced to do that, but she feels a kind of responsibility to meet her parents expectations. You could say that she is being passively forced if that makes any sense to you. However, whether it is forced upon her or not, i can guarantee that ppl like her, who had no childhood but in return achieved sth in life, will never regret or feel any remorse towards their parents. They look back on their hardships in their past with pride and heads held high. They are also thankful that their parents gave them so much attention and understand later on that everything their parents invested in them was for their own future. They will realise that every tear they shed wasn't wasted, every tear had their purpose and it paid off. As i told you its also of their own free will. It is exactly because their parents give their all to their children (time, money, everything) that makes them wanting to meet their expectations and hopes (hope is more accurate). They mature very early and feel thankful for their parents and as such they don't want to waste their efforts. Most asians aren't rich and have to give up a lot for their children: new fancy clothes, shoes, traveling, hobbies, money, time etc. The children on the other hand aren't dumb as some might think. They realise very early without telling them that sth is wrong. Why are my parents never buying any fancy clothes? Why aren't they traveling? Why are my parents never going out or eating delecious food in restaurants from time to time? They count 1 and 1 together and realise that they just can't because of them and that drives them on to meet their expectations.
They don't raise weak children like the Americans. They understand that nature, reality, and life will tell you the same thing; that if you can't keep your composure, step aside.

I've taught Chinese children and the pressure they receive from such a young age causes such stress and sadness from extra curricular activities. I speak Mandarin and understand Chinese culture having worked in the Chinese community for 20 years. Often I would ask my students do you like the extra classes you do and enjoy the subject and want to do it, 75% would say 'no' . Social pressure to achieve for both adults and children causes so much distress. One Chinese adult friend said to me that they hate having to belong to this rat race but that they had to do it because they is what is expected and needed to get on in life. The fear of loosing face is a big thing. Equally, Chinese people are so generous and kind. I've had countless experiences at the tables of Chinese families where great generosity and friendship has been shown, not just because I'm a westerner but just because they wanted to. I've had so many open conversations about all sorts of wonderful topics with great humanity, honesty and compassion. Maybe this little girl loves ping pong, I don't know but the question I'd ask her with no judgement is 'Is this truly what you want to do?' Much love to all of my wonderful Chinese friends 💜

Many does not grasp how extremely almost impossibly hard to climb to the top in the world of table tennis. Upwards of 2000 - 5000 kids compete for ONE spot on the national team in training camps across China. In order to get into those camps you need to be at least among the top players in local clubs across 23 provinces in China. There are at least hundreds of those local clubs in each provinces. After being the top players in a club, you get a chance at one of those training camps. You need to compete with thousands of others for a chance at the national team. Let’s say you got that chance, there is no guarantee that you can ever represent China as you would need to consistently be in the top to play for China. Even when you are in the top, whom presumably are all from China, you need to be the best of the best of the best to even think about competing in the olympics or world championships. If you are 1 in a million in China, there are exactly 1400 people just like you.

I just watched how China dominated in table tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and I came to UA-cam looking for an explanation. This video provided it, loud and clear. 'If she wants to be a professional…' Seriously, it's scientifically impossible for a 6-year-old's brain to have long-term expectations for their life. These parents are clearly pushing the child hard, either directly by taking her to intense practice sessions or indirectly by imposing their high expectations. They're shaping a champion from early childhood. This cultural difference in how children are raised might be why the U.S. may never surpass China in table tennis.
US almost gets the same number of Gold medals as China if not more by doing things the correct way. Atleast your country isn’t forcing kids and literally torturing them for olympic medals.

@@missxmarvel Please surprise me by saying something sensible
It’s also why people move from China to USA and not the other direction.
much better than kids playing with smart phone

Poor baby, give her playground, friends, toys :( she is so cute baby i wanna hug her stop the tears pls
She wants to play it professionally, she needs to start young. And besides, kids cry easier when they're 6. It could've been because she missed a shot.
@@KdramaBish same here! 👋🏼
Poor baby? This will give her everything in time. Playground won't so Sunday only
You must be Western.
Asians, at least most Asians see it amazing but normal, we admire this little girl but won't think about letting her quit.
Me,at this age, i spent most of my time playing outdoor traditional games 😁😁😁... its 41 years ago...

Being talented is not enough. You need hard work to be a winner.
Absolutely
I guess you didn't watch the full video!
Let the child live happily and enjoy her child hood.compitations stress tensions are inevitable for rest of the life.
She seemed to be enjoying her childhood quite well .
this is just awful. shes 5 dude, she shouldnt be training this hard or have this must pressure on her
I think a lot of Asian cultures value dedication and perseverance. When I was in primary school, my Chinese dance teacher said that no matter what after-school activity you join, there will be struggles you have to face. It all depends on whether you want to stick to what you’re doing and see it through.

Aww breaks my heart to see her cry, just wanna give her a big hug
Когда она плачет, ее нужно поддержать, обнять, сказать, что она будет лучшей, если будет упорно тренироваться. Поддержка очень важна для детей, не забывайте об этом.
