Can a fallen one become a deathwatch kill team member? I know the deathwatch have a thing where a space marine may present themselves to the deathwatch for service as personal penance. They paint their entire armour black and do not speak of their former life at all.
Why does everyone in 40k keep secrets? It's like the army keeping info from the Air Force. Now a days they share information and even tactics , vehicles whatever. You'd think people would start to question why is my leader keeping so many secrets from me? If all these groups worked together and shared they would accomplish so much more. As a chief in the us navy you never want to be the only guy with a secret.(barring classified shit). We learn as a group we can accomplish so much more than a single individual.
Well, there's a lot of reasons for the institutions of the imperium of man doing that. The two most famous ones might be: First off, rivalry. There are many groups in the imperium which are almost at war with eachother (for instance Spacewolves and the Ecclesiarchy), so it's not like the army keeping info from the air force but rather the US keeping info from Russia. They might be at peace with eachother (at least on paper) and might work together in certain situations, but they don't really like eachother and see eachother as potential enemies in other certain situations. Secondly and probably the most important reason: the constant fear of traitors. The ones that know the most in the imperium are always the most trustet ones, so it wouldn't be really wise to share information with let's say some officer of the imperial guard, who has not passed through all those rites and shit a trusted member of the astartes had to. The danger of unwillingly handing over crucial information to the enemy by someone beeing corrupted by chaos, taken prisoner by other xenos races or even someone who joined the Tau Empire is too big in order to maintain some huge imperial network in which all the infos are stored. All in all you could say, the imperials treat their information just like their military forces. Split them apart so you just lose a small bit of it in case of someone in their ranks turning against them.
