This was a very nice haircut. I'm 74, and I have come to terms with the attitudes many have towards the elderly. We kind of dissappear in a crowd. I consider it a blessing to have lived this long. Getting old is not for sissies.
I go in for an injection every month (not Ozempic ha ha) for my anemia. I am usually early and the nurse commented that most "little old ladies" are usually late. Ok, I am 77, but this really grated on me. What if I said "you young dummy nurses better not hurt me again with the injection??"
At 70 it’s hard to go in for a haircut. They treat us older ladies with such disrespect. No matter what cut I ask for they ignore my wishes and give me whatever cut, then they want a big tip. I was quite attractive when I was young, even into my 50s, but things change at 70. It’s very difficult to be treated like I don’t matter.
Yes I agree with you. I went in with shoulder length hair and asked for a bit if shape in the back and to leave the front length. I came out with a short bob. She completely ignored what I said and kept on cutting!. As this has happened more than once I am going to cut my own hair from now on. There us no one to blame and yes at 71, I know what I am doing. Xx
You tell them what you want. Show them a photograph of what you want and if you don't get it that's when you don't pay and take them to court if they threaten you. This is another form of elder abuse! They just want to take the money and run.
Agree with you. Have always had beautiful.long hair. At 72 it's gotten thinner. I have never enjoyed or trusted too many salons as the stylist never listen. I can't tell you the number of times I asked to have a trim or just shape it and I ended up with 5-6 inches cut off. Last trip to a,salon I wanted just an inch off. Was heading to Europe and knew I would not have time to mess with my hair. The stylist cut it so short I had no clue what to do with it. Hated it. That was 5 years ago. Thankfully my grandmother cut hair and I learned enough to cut mine now.
I find that many stylists have one cut for the elderly lady. I call it the “Old Lady Cut”. Same cut they did 35 years ago. I told her the sides were a little heavy. She took the scissors and hacked off half. Still growing it out.
What makes it not a good haircut? There is absolutely nothing wrong with it for her age or face shape. It’s hard for anyone with a round face to find something that works and for her, especially at her age it looks great. Or are you someone who will leave negative comments on videos to just be a troll? 🙄🙄
I’m a hairdresser, retired after 40 plus years in the business. I also taught hairdressing 2 plus years. This hairdresser did a great job. His sectioning and care was excellent to watch. He was working with very thin, fine hair. The client had great body, because she had curly hair. He had a vision, and carried it out for her. She looked wonderful and was pleased. Great job.♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm a hairdresser as well that caters for the over 50's. There are very few salons if any in the town where I live & work that caters for the seniors. I love my job & enjoy the "OLDIES that come into my little salon. More than just doing their hair I love to make them laugh, something that most hairdressers don't do. That guy did an amazing job on that ladies hair. It was awesome. Thanks for making her look grand. She was so happy with the end result
Looks ok in salon , he clearly has no clue how naturally curly hair is going to be afterwards, she's in for a mountain of work to try and maintain that .
I am so happy to see you using a round brush, that is what I used when I was a practicing hair stylist. On salon I worked at didn't like me using a round brush said it looked cheap. I quit and bought my own salon. You are an amazing stylist.
I’m 71 and never have been treated with disrespect, in a hair salon. I have a chin length cut, blonde fun and highlights. The gal who cuts my hair and colors it is about 30. She is delightful.
I am 80 and have always been treated with respect from my stylist. They may not agree with what I want but always do what I ask. If they didn't I would not go back.
Well done! The smile on her face and the glance are worth more than 1000 words. And now a little male-up-session and the lady is ready to conquer the world!
Love the way he lifts the roots first to give it volume when I ask a stylist to that on my blo dry the look at me as if I had 2 heads !! Everything is so text book with some of them .
Absolutely love the cut!! Shapes her face beautifully! My only issue with this is it would have been super beneficial if he would have had her try to style it herself with him showing her how. I'm 72, and found a terrific stylist that took a few minutes to show me how to get the same results. Makes a big difference.
Great professional hairdresser! Beautiful styling & took plenty of time with the client. We miss the wonderful bygone days when going to the hairdresser meant a fabulous experience! Thank you for posting.🎗🎗🎗
I agree. She'll probably try it at home once, then decide it's too much work. I have never fussed with my hair that much in my life. If it takes more than 5 minutes, I'm not doing it, especially when a little humidity or snow or rain will undo all of that painstaking straightening. Been there. I once had a friend try to get me to use hot rollers; it took one misty afternoon, and all of that work was undone. No, thanks.
I’m 67 and I have thick hair a little longer than this woman’s. I use the same type brush and blow dry and use a wide flat iron to smooth it out. Just twice a week. I’ve been doing it for years so I’m used to it. My hair would be huge and fuzzy if I didn’t style it. As we age we still have to take care of ourselves so we feel good ! That’s why so many women get the short cuts, no fussing.
People may be 70 or more but they’re still 35 in their mind. Treat people respectively no matter their age. Look how beautiful she looks and feels! Nice job.
That cut looks great on her!! The stylist did a great job. I hope he was explaining how to style it or that she paying close attention! I'm 64, and my hair was about the same length as hers was before the cut. Two months ago, I got a similar cut as hers, except that I wear mine curly and use a diffuser when drying it. . I had forgotten how curly my hair was, and I'm absolutely loving it! The cut also got rid of the remaining dyed ends, and am totally embracing the gray!❤
Just a tip..I all the sudden started losing a lot of my thick hair after it was 60% gray. Doc tested and I was deficient in vitamins D. Started taking vitamin D/K2 and voila! You need both since K2 facilitates absorption in the cells, apparently. I stopped shedding all but a normal amount of hair in 3-4 weeks of one per day.
Also protein. I found out recently that I've been getting only 25% of my protein requirement. I didn't know that you have to calculate it by your body weight, and then double it if you're over 65. I've managed to triple my protein intake and my hair is now starting to grow back after losing half of it 8 years ago.
I'm amazed at what you could do with her hair . It's almost exactly like mine . Thin in the same areas . My slightly wave in my hair when I was younger turned into a curl like hers about 5 years after my gray / white came in. I never thought , that hair , could look that full . Beautiful!
Great cut!! It's nice to see #1 a cut without bangs, #2 a cut where the stylist doesn't instantly get out the shears..not every woman wants short hair, (need to hide the waddle neck)..

This hairdresser is a real professional and did an excellent cut and blow dry of this lady’s hair. He’s a credit to his profession. (This lady is fortunate to have some natural curl in her hair. Wish I did.) ❤️👍🏻
I've had long hair in the past Cut it short then grew it again And decided I didn't like it longer anymore. And it has got shorter and shorter over time I'm now 60 years of age and I have a number 3 buzz cut Which I love. 😊
Wow, what an amazing job. That looks fabulous, and I initially thought - oh, no! She doesn't have enough hair for that! But wow did that turn out great.
