Although Catherine Tate gets all the plaudits with her show being rewarded with numerous awards, and rightly so as it’s genius, but I must say the Paul character in this sketch is just as funny and genius as Sam and played so well. Unlike all of the other sketches in this show where Catherine Tate steals the show, both of these characters are just as good as each other which makes it even more entertaining to watch!

The thing about this series of sketches I've always just LOVED so much is that these two are just soo much in LOVE & that's just sooo LOVELY!!
I never tire of this sketch. It's got something to do with watching how Paul just hangs on Sam's every word completely effortlessly. How rare is that?

Same here. I have an acquintance that lives nearby, with braindamage (enough to function in everyday life, but she hasn't finished basic things in school, doesn't know English (everyone does in the country, but she didn't finish school as I said) and she does things the same way she used to do, even if it really could use some improvement.
And her stories are this level, very very frustrating and you can't stop her, because she doesn't even register that you want her to stop.
She'll just restart the story and remember instead that you loved the story and then tell it to you, all over again, the next time. (Her short-term brainfunctions are fine, she remembers everything, it's just the social understanding that she's lacking.)
I honestly wish I could hang out with someone else, she isn't nice to be around, but she's there, as one of the few available people to chat with.

You probably won't have to try very hard to avoid it. No one, even those with mush for brains, would want to be anywhere near you or spend any time with you whatsoever. You're worth less than a pile of dog excrement and no doubt have even less of the personality of said pile. Empty, soulless, boring and stale would sum you up more appropriately.
Of all the brilliant comedy done by her this for me is the only one that is seriously unfunny. Boring repetitive and just not funny……
It’s not meant to be hilarious getting you off your seat. It’s an exaggeration of mundane things people find funny in their everyday lives, it’s supposed to be relatable. You’re meant to go, “Oh yeah I had a situation like that. Maybe I even thought of some of these things at the time but didn’t say them”.
