Idk, at least in the child ending, Lucy tries to change things. The mother one gave me the impression that things wouldnt change after. The best one is the world ending since everyone was saved I guess. The forest is the sadest one imo
According to the story then I agreed that the mother's song is the worst since they left the forest behind. But still, you MUST achieve all endings in order to have the best experience and all lessons through the voice in each.
@@satsujin4027 if you pay attention to the story though it seems like child's song results in a rather cyclical ending hinting that Lucy will eventually become the crazy woman. I'd say there's only the good ending that is the secret one, rest of them are all bad

i got the children song ending, and I really didn't had any regrets not getting the secret ending, but after spoiling myself on how to achieve it, i'm disappointed.... felt like betraying my cat irl
The whole game is a metaphor for the acceptance and understanding of your fellow human beings, a call to refuse the development of an “us vs them” mentality. When you look at this game and compare it to real life everything starts to make sense.

None.. only used for the ending. You can't even select it before the ending at any point. Plus you acquire the last note literaly one puzzle before the ending
I may be stupid, but... I don't understand.... Like... The lost villagers become those things? But why? And do they become people when the villagers recognise them? What's the purpose of them being in the woods? How many of them are there? How did they come to be in the first place?
I think you're not the only one with such questions and I bet there are even more unanswered ones. I guess the game leaves a lot for your own interpretation.. that's the whole beauty of the game
I think that they want to intend that the "monsters" are the evolution, meanwhile the villagers are the people scared about it and children make lots of question because they will be the future change
curious if you did 4 full playthroughs with Game+ or just backed up the save and redid the ending? You get a sticker after getting each ending... so I wonder if there is something hidden for doing all 4 (like a 5th ending) I have 2 stickers currently, not sure if I want to invest the time in doing 2 more playthroughs as I already got the platinum
I really don't know if the secret ending is the best one. It feels a bit too Hollywood for me. I prefer the one with the children really. Screw those adults and their fearmongering, the future is with the children. They can change the world.
the problem with that (in regards to the game world) is that Lucy wouldn't be the first one to attempt that. Pay attention to the story of the crazy woman. She used to teach people the same songs, even the bigoted old man in the village regards those days as golden days if you watch the children's song thoughts on him. There are hints throughout the story to suggest that all the endings (except the secret ending) happened before Lucy's lifetime and people went back to their old ways eventually anyway.
I'm trying to figure it out as we speak. I've read that it's random but I can't agree to that as I've finished the game 3 times by now and so far I've had Red and Raven (x2) showing up - which nets you the achievement / trophy for one of the kids being your friend. So far no luck with the cat. You can check where the kid / cat should show up in my Chapter 4 walkthrough once you are back in Town (Dad locks your inside the house) and then you go outside your home to find the key for the music box. Do let me know who showed up for you and what were your choices during the playthrough Someone said that if you backup your save prior to returning to Town in Chapter 4 you will get a random encounter in the Alley when you go outside of your home.. but I noticed it's the same for me on a given playthrough. My guess is that it depends on the choices you make while talking to the kids during Chapter 1-3 (but I might be wrong so don't call me on that 😀) I plan to have a new go and see if I can somehow be 'rude' to the kids so that the cat shows up 😀 Once I know more I will try to make a video guide for that for sure
@@akifinisgaming It's not random, it's based on your friendship level with each of the kids. You can only max out 1 kid per playthrough and if you don't max out any it's the Cat. I'm currently making a video on how to get each (although getting Blue is easiest). Choices like telling Blue to do the super shot, and if you make a scary story or not all effect which kid will show up.

In spirituality the best ending is Forest song - the ascension of units in own time - same is going pararell in this world. Worst is mom's song - once the some gates are opened, there is no coming back, it's like suicide. Children song is pure "sacrifice of a lamb" Song of the world is total reset, end of the world, dissolve of ego and unification (Freud psyhology). Still game is very good.
Keep in kind that rating are always subjective and based on once opinion.. not everyone rates things the same way and everyone is allowed to do it in their own way. For you "Best", "Worse" can be different but that does not mean that any of us is right / wrong
