I have his Live At The Redwoods DVD. He performed this with Shanice. This song has reached a miraculous event when Shanice adds her wonderful vocal talent to it.
This is just extraordinary! I am more unfamiliar with his music than I thought I was! I think he just took me to church! I will sit up and take more notice of Kenny Loggins from this point forward! Nice one Harri🌺✌️
I fell in love with my future bride when this was released. I had to be away on assignment occasionally & once it was doubtful I’d make it home for Christmas. I did. A candle was burning in the window & she had this ready on the turntable. A great & bittersweet memory. I miss her so much. Thanks Harri !
He was known as the King of the Movie Soundtrack, because he wrote and sang several of them. Footloose, Danger Zone ( Top Gun) I'm Alright (Cadyshack) This is It (Keep The Fire) Whenever I Call You Friend ( Night watch), and more!
From Kenny Loggins: Live From The Redwoods version of What A Fool Believes, a duet with Michael McDonald (they co-wrote the song) a listen. Much different than the Doobie Brothers version, worth a listen.
Kenny Loggins has written some of the highest selling songs of all time! He has written numerous albums and they are all poignant and beautifully written and performed. He had a band called Loggins & Messina, with Jim Messina, another musical pioneer. He’s HALL OF FAME all day long and his songs will last forever!
I have never heard this song! Another new experience. Great pick and analysis. This resonates with me this year. My daughter is in California. My sons wife wants to go to Disneyland for Christmas. So my Christmas is going to be different. Great reaction Harri!
This is very much considered a Christmas song in the U.S. even though it fits any time. This song always makes me misty. Kenny Loggins will continue to surprise you if you keep listening to him!
I’m 65yrs old. I just don’t know how old you are. But before Kenny was Kenny he was Loggins and massina. Kenny has had several lifetimes because musically he made “it” happen. I just saw him in a recent live production with David Foster pianist and produced who produced everybody along time ago and recently with Kenny and of all people Michael McDonald like out off the grave from the 80’s and 90’s to 2021. On stage together. After Macon a and him was Kenny solo artist for a bunch a years. Then it was Kenny writing and composing soundtracks for really important movies. Somehow he made himself relevant. H I’d Footloose soundtrack with all that dancing. I think before that was Top GUn. I know he was chosen because he was pop popular, but he had talent that he created something new all the time. He’s had longevity. He wasn’t selling sex. He is songs had messages and footloose was legit dance songs to choreographed motion. Kevin what’s his named danced to Kenny’s songs and nobody knew who he was.
Here are some of Kenny’s best tunes, I Believe In Love,This Is It,Whenever I Call You Friend with Stevie Nicks,Heart To Heart, Forever, And Conviction of the Heart!
LOVE your reaction! This song is just SPECIAL .... Such a bittersweet, sad melody, but the lyrics are so sweet! His voice is so beautiful. I never thought his earlier songs were all that great, but THIS song is definitely great! Not sure why but this song does bring tears to MY eyes as well!
You have to do "Danny's Song" by Kenny Loggins. He was a 17-year-old senior in high school and wrote it for his brother who was about to have a child while in college. Most beautiful ❤️ song ever!!
Harri, when you get a chance check out "Same Old Wine" by Loggin's and Messina. I think you'll really like it. Saw Kenny about 4 yrs ago. He still sounds fantastic!
Love this song. Loggins has a lot of terrific music. "Conviction of the Heart", "Heart to Heart" and "Whenever I Call You Friend" are favorites. Nice reaction, sir 👍🏾😊👏🏾
Mr Harri , You just made my world a better place, and, I do believe, we just went to church together! lol I remember when this first came out, haven't heard it in a while, I cannot thank you enough! Keep on keepin on!
Kenny Loggins has such a wide, broad catalogue. He has a whole album of lullabies which is exquisite. Try listening to Return to Pooh Corner and then follow up with Your Momma Don't Dance - and compare the two. He also wrote a bunch of songs with Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers) - they are all great too, but completely different sound.
This came from his debut album as a solo artist and was not originally meant to be a holiday tune, though it’s understandable why it became one. I’m sure he’s okay with that, too.
I was keen on Kenny via Poco, but reacted to this song in much the same way as you did. Very holidays and nostalgia and auld lang syne, but not until your review had I considered the spiritual, thanatalogical aspect of the song. Please celebrate that I am finally getting to Heaven. Even more beautiful, to me, because I thought the human context to be a little toward the self-centered ego gratification aspect of fellowship, even as I reveled in it during my own homecomings, hypocrite that I am. Leave it to Harri whose synchronicity is, by now, incontrovertible, to mine these wondrous jewels in so auspicious a sequence. May goodness and mercy follow you all the days of your life. And may you happen upon a live version of "Be Free" by Loggins and Messina from circa '76. It will be as manna to the soul. Peace ever. db
Kenny Loggins has a lot of songs you should give a listen to. Some of them are from his time singing with Jim Messina. BARBRA STREISAND BARBRA STREISAND. BE AWARE is the song. Or ONE LESS BELL TO ANWER/A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME. SERIOUSLY, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING.
@John T. Borek Barbara is all that, but IMO Marilyn McCoo's and Cheryl Crow's renditions of "One Less Bell To Answer" blow Barbara's away...not even close.
I can take or leave that song you were referring to. It's fine, but this song is dripping-beautiful. There are a lot of interesting suspensions and chord progressions not found in many pop songs. And I love how it starts quiet, then adds the background instrumentation in the second verse. Oh, Kenny Loggins is a good singer. I don't really like male singers that much, but his sound is graced with a lot of crisp, nasal overtones. No huskiness here. Great song.
Harri, this is not the "Celebrate Me Home" I'm used to hearing. I know sometimes songs have the same title but in this case I'm referring to is a Christian gospel song with beautiful, meaningful lyrics.
I wish more people knew how great Kenny is.
I'm trying to educate
Its Kennys Christmas Gift to the world...
I have his Live At The Redwoods DVD. He performed this with Shanice.
This song has reached a miraculous event when Shanice adds her wonderful vocal talent to it.
My two favorite songs by Kenny Loggins are THIS song and "Baby Mine". He has a beautiful voice.
This is just extraordinary! I am more unfamiliar with his music than I thought I was! I think he just took me to church! I will sit up and take more notice of Kenny Loggins from this point forward! Nice one Harri🌺✌️
You may want to listen to Kenny’s whole first album and love it!
One of my all-time favourite songs. ❤️
Please try his House At Pooh Corner when you can.
Sweet, thoughtful song...
Logins and Messina… Angry Eyes live…
Kenny Loggins is a GREAT talent. No words to describe his truly unique and soulful voice. Love listening to him.
Kenny is the writer. He is the whole deal.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure someone else will mention this.....but PLEASE listen to his live version at Red Rocks. It is phenomenal....and much longer!
Kenny! Kenny! Kenny!
Love Kenny Loggins! Great singer songwriter! "This is It" is another gem of his. He has so many! 🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
One of my favorite holiday songs. Used to play this a lot in department stores during Christmas when I was younger.
Kenny Loggins Dan Fogelberg Jackson Brown superb singer song writers from this period and beyond
My favourite Kenny Loggins song. Chokes me up every time I hear it. Thnx
This has always been one of my favorite "non-traditional" Christmas songs. It's also one of my favorite Kenny Loggins songs.
He was known as the King of the Movie Soundtrack, because he wrote and sang several of them. Footloose, Danger Zone ( Top Gun) I'm Alright (Cadyshack) This is It (Keep The Fire) Whenever I Call You Friend ( Night watch), and more!
Back in the late 70’s, my college fraternity promoted concerts and we had Kenny Loggins and this was the encore song and he had the crowd mesmerized.
Kenny is very smooth and versatile with forty or fifty great tunes with Jim Messina and during his solo career!
I’ve always loved this. Not his biggest fan, but “This is It” and “I’m Alright” are undeniably great.
From Kenny Loggins: Live From The Redwoods version of What A Fool Believes, a duet with Michael McDonald (they co-wrote the song) a listen. Much different than the Doobie Brothers version, worth a listen.
One of my favorite Kenny Loggins songs. Thanks !👍🏽
This is commonly included as a Christmas song when radio stations play Christmas music around the holidays.
Always one of my favorites. It makes me think of Thanksgiving or meeting departed loved ones
Kenny's voice wraps you up like a warm blanket. Good call on "sounds like a gospel song."
This is on every Christmas playlist I make. Beautiful.
I am so glad you liked it. He also has a duet with Stevie nicks that's awesome!!!
I have never heard this song! Another new experience. Great pick and analysis. This resonates with me this year. My daughter is in California. My sons wife wants to go to Disneyland for Christmas. So my Christmas is going to be different.
Great reaction Harri!
Kenny's whole album "Celebrate Me Home" is great.
Love Kenny Loggins! From all of the Loggins and Messina songs to his solo stuff.
This is very much considered a
Christmas song in the U.S. even though it fits any time. This song always makes me misty. Kenny Loggins will continue to surprise you if you keep listening to him!
I remember when this was just released. I closed my eyes, and got swept up. Now, it all comes back, and I am grateful for the feel.
Played in the US every Christmas season. Kenny is brilliant.
I think he was talking about footloose, that's all I really knew about Kenny. His music is way different than the 80s stuff that I remembered.
I’m 65yrs old. I just don’t know how old you are. But before Kenny was Kenny he was Loggins and massina. Kenny has had several lifetimes because musically he made “it” happen. I strongly recommend you react to Kenny performing "Leap of Faith" at his "Outside From The Redwoods" concert. STELLAR!!
Love your reaction! You must watch Celebrate Me Home on his Outside: From the Redwoods video. Even more amazing!!
Heart to Heart really shows his vocal chops.
Danny’s Song, This Is It, The Real Thing, It’s Alright, and of course all those 80’s movie songs.
We had this on 8 track when I was a kid. Listened to this in the kitchen while we cooked dinner. Good memories. I still love this entire album.
Here are some of Kenny’s best tunes, I Believe In Love,This Is It,Whenever I Call You Friend with Stevie Nicks,Heart To Heart, Forever, And Conviction of the Heart!
Wonderful wonderful song ❤️
LOVE your reaction! This song is just SPECIAL .... Such a bittersweet, sad melody, but the lyrics are so sweet! His voice is so beautiful. I never thought his earlier songs were all that great, but THIS song is definitely great! Not sure why but this song does bring tears to MY eyes as well!
Kenny Loggins writes his songs and I bought all his music (A P P L A U S E). ! ! ! ! ! !
Believe me you, I love Kenny Loggins as much as you do.
You have to do "Danny's Song" by Kenny Loggins. He was a 17-year-old senior in high school and wrote it for his brother who was about to have a child while in college. Most beautiful ❤️ song ever!!
Agree re a perfect song for a funeral. Great insight.
This has been one of my fav songs my whole life and I still have that same reaction you had... it's a powerful song that keeps giving me chills.
A fantastic tune and Kenny’s first solo hit!
I've always loved this song. I think it may have been his first big solo album.
I learned of him when he sang with Jim Messina, but he’s so talented no matter what he tries.
Please react to Kenny Loggins, - Danny's Song, ..or Return To Pooh Corner.
Reminds me of coming home from the Army in 1974.
Try some early work of his in Loggins and Messina, "Your Mama Don't Dance."
Kenny and Michael McDonald together on Heart to heart is INCREDIBLE. That's what you expect from ALL 70s performers and they always delivered!
Or My Music
Mr Harri , You just made my world a better place, and, I do believe, we just went to church together! lol I remember when this first came out, haven't heard it in a while, I cannot thank you enough! Keep on keepin on!
Harri you’re the first reactor to cover this one. Always loved it & it puts me in the Christmas spirit!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Thx 🙏
Love this song!!!!ty!!!!
This Is It is another good KL song.
You should listen to Kenny Loggins, " For the First Time" It was nominated for best song at the 1996 Oscars. Such a beautiful song.
Another 70s Stalwart ! Kenny was a hyper performer and carried that into the 80s and 90s. too.
I love to drive to his song Highway To The Danger Zone.
Kenny Loggins has such a wide, broad catalogue. He has a whole album of lullabies which is exquisite. Try listening to Return to Pooh Corner and then follow up with Your Momma Don't Dance - and compare the two. Sweet
Please listen to him sing with Messina. Loggins and Messina did some wonderful songs together
Listen to, This is it!
One of my all time favorite albums (Celebrate Me Home, not the greatest hits), Harri - not a bad track, IMO. It has such a holiday vibe to it as well.
You should check out his live version of this song!!
Harri..."Heart to Heart" (audio version) Kenny Loggins AND "Love will follow" live duet Kenny Loggins and Shanice!!!
Do BOTH.. Trust me..
Check out Kenny’s House at Pooh Corner. As I recall, he wrote it for his son.
This came from his debut album as a solo artist and was not originally meant to be a holiday tune, though it’s understandable why it became one. I’m sure he’s okay with that, too.
Kenny Loggins also wrote footloose, but IMO Danny's song is absolutely the best

He wasn't in Poco but Jim Messina was.
@@Straydogger Jim was more talented and better looking. Poco was fun. One of my first records.

Hi Kenny, I requested "Angry Eyes" from Harri which he reacted to already... look for it. - Brooklyn Mike
Harri you absolutely MUST react to "isn't it a pity" (take 27) by George Harrison
Dude thanks for taking on this song.....sadly this isn't "making its rounds" around the reaction contingent.
BARBRA STREISAND BARBRA STREISAND. BE AWARE is the song. Or ONE LESS BELL TO ANWER/A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME. SERIOUSLY, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING.
