As I was watching I just thought to myself “dang I love Anna Laura’s shirt” and it took me a whole minute to realize it’s the exact same shirt I’m currently wearing
um i'm sorry! wtf! that long hair bun with no hair tie is absolute magic! like, witch craft. where has this been all my life?! it was so easy and worked on the first try.... I'm absolutely floored
The no hair tie bun is called a nautilus bun! It gets more secure the longer your hair is. My hair is past waist-length and the bun can comfortably survive the whole day. Still wouldn't recommend it for working out though :(
I can totally work out in my nautilus bun! You just have to make it a little tighter. It's definitely doable with practice. Also, if you plait your hair and then nautilus bun it, it is so secure literally no amount of headbanging will loosen it. XD
May we please have an Asian hair tutorial. Asian hair is stiff and sleek so it it’s hard to style. Messy buns don’t work because the ends stick out, braid waves don’t stay, and some people have trouble curling. Another issue is that volume isn’t in our vocabulary. Xoxo I hope you read this
You should do a blindfolded hair challenge! OR a blindfolded doing my sisters hair, makeup, and picking out her outfit blindfolded! I love you so much!
Okay can you girls pleaseee start linking your clothes in the descriptions?!?! You girls always have the cutest tops and I’m dying to know where I can get them!
i've had shoulder length hair (most of the time) for like six years, and i always do that scrunchie bun hack! it's the best, especially once you get the hang of how to alter it for your texture. most comfortable, effective, natural looking solution IMO.
That no hair tie bun I have been doing for years, my mum does it my nani (grandma) use to do it. an its not super secure in Anna's hair is because her hair is little short for it. Plus one Tip you can use hair tie or hair pin or chop stick across the bun to secure it
Ooh I would love this!! A breakdown of the different types of products you use and what they’re good for would be awesome! And also your makeup, we don’t see enough of beauty guru Kayley!!
@@kayleymelissa I would love to see like your top shampoos and conditioners and masks, and then your fav leave in products, and texture sprays. An maybe just a quick tour of your beauty room because its gorgeous!
The no scrunchie hair bun is something that Sri Lankan women have been doing for centuries lol. It requires the hair to be a certain length/thinness, so if your hair is thinner or longer it works, and it's incredibly secure, and you don't need any pins
@@varshianth9072 I've been watching hair videos for years on youtube and I've always wondered "why has no one shared the "hack" we have? do I need to start a channel to share this?" And here it is!
Prior to seeing these on your video I had ordered some Flockies or whatever they’re called. They worked great at first but then the flocking came right off way too soon, so that was disappointing. They weren’t cheap either. I love those updos but especially yours, Kaylee Melissa. Very, very cute. 👍🏼I would’ve never thought of it but I’m definitely trying it.
As Anna Laura liked the tie-free bun so much (aka nautilus bun, or Indian Mum bun!) you should check out some of the different styles long-haired women can do with hair sticks. A pencil will work, too, for most of them, so people can try them out without buying anything special. They look really cool, and seem to distribute the weight of long and heavy hair a bit more evenly than using hair ties.
For the Tie-less bun, my mom has been doing this since before I was born. But instead of twisting it around so much, she ties the knot first then wraps the hair as it's much more secure. This is a quick on the go Asian mom staple.
I love you two in videos! They make my day! I also love when Annalaura changes her voice up as I do the SAME THING. My grad school friends used to call it my "goodbye" voice cuz it would change when I said bye to everyone after a study/drinking session lol
Kayley: I've got a sugar hiiigh alreeeeady Me: Oh this is gonna be a fun video. Love crazy Kay- *Kayley has a lid on her head* PS Cute Girls Hairstyles was one of the very first channels I subscribed to 8 yers ago now, and got me interested in styling hair. Needless to say, I wouldn't be following Kayley Melissa if it weren't for Mindy
I used to do the no hair tie bun every single day of my life.. but this year my hair is kinda too short to wrap around and do the bun.. I miss it, it's so convenient. And it's very common in India..like that's the first bun one learns, seeing their mom do it everyday And it's actually very secure once you get the hang of it. Not workout secure, but very secure
I literally just left the same comment about Sri Lanka before seeing your comment! I wear my hair like this pretty much all day everyday, especially to sleep
I love you ladies! I'm an over 50 pixie grower-outer and I had to use an L. Erickson tie, but I managed a tiny baby bun. I love it! You're both very special gals in a super great way! Keep it coming and keep me looking fresh!
Kayley I know you’ve talked before about wanting to do more diy/craft and fashion videos, and if you still want to, GO FOR IT GURL! I love your fashion style and your craftiness, and would def love to see some vids on it!❤️
I’m so glad you showed the bun trick! I’ve been trying to do it for a while but couldn’t get the hand position right. Definitely slowed down that part and forced myself to get it 😂
I love the Sissy videos!!!! You guys have such a fun relationship and chemistry on screen! I have not tried the flocked pins just yet (tho now I want some😍) BUT the spiral pins that you twist to “screw” into the hair changed my bun game in a BIG way! My hair is fine and silky but dense (so it’s heavy) so if I use regular Bobby or hairpins I have to use like 20+ to get it to hold.......you should’ve seen my bathroom counter after my wedding😳.....so many pins!
I have a shaved head. I literally have no business watching any of these videos (yet). And yet....that scrunchie bun is amazing and I wish I had known that hack back when I had hair!!!
For the no hair tie bun, you can do a little half up bun with it on short hair! Just use two or three fingers for the first step instead of your whole hand. Add a small pin if you want some extra security and there you go! I'll definitely continue doing this because I find the elastic always gets in the way when i do half up buns with my hair, so it solves that issue
Okay the tie bun is insanely good. I will say my hair is just a wee bit longer and it feels very secure for me so if you can loop the last bit around more than once it definitely passes the head shake test. My hair is also wavy so that may be helping it stay. But this is my new favorite thing!
Loved the video❤️ I have seen so many videos on TikTok that have had me messaging my long haired friends to see if they actually work 😂 If you had any time I would love a video about more environmentally friendly hair product options or brands.
tried the tie-less bun- took me about 5 tries to get it down but it finally worked! with like 10 minutes of practice I was able to get a much more secure bun than on my first try as well, so if it's not working for you don't (immediately) give up!
Many great hacks! I loved that last one and honestly am kinda happy you failed with following it and ended up braiding it since that looked SO MUCH BETTER. Thinking back, the original back view reminded me of when I was like 10 and just the idea of using many elastics excited me.
I need those pins! I've never seen them. But that bun trick is awesome, especially if your only elastic snaps. I'm shocked. The ribbon fish tail is my top fav 😍
The faux fishtail seems harder than an actual fishtail. You need to not have flyaway between sections, you need for the knot to not untie when grabbing the next section, you don't want to tie hair into the knot...
I love these videos, but was disappointed to see that closed captioning is unavailable! There are usually such great tips given along with the tutorials and it's a shame that a lot of people won't have access to those because of this reason. I adore both of you and am not trying to hate! Just something I think should be considered by UA-cam creators who may not know they have a very diverse audience! :)
hey Kayley, I've been re watching Pretty Little liars and I've been in love with some of the low up updos that Aria wears in season 4 and 5 but I cant figure out how to do any of them. could you do a video on that? it would be really cool.
I love your videos Kayley and especially love when AnnaLaura joins as well! Instead of using oil to get the rubber bands out of your hair, simply take your hot curling iron and lay it on the rubber band for a second or two. It will break and pop right out and you won't have the residue in your hair from the oil.
you should do a video that is just the hair hacks from tiktok that you SHOULD NOT DO. And talk about why. I think that would be really cool!
yesss!!! (without the demo of course lol)
That’ll give me Ann Readon vibes!!

Right
exactly what I was gonna say! My mom has been tying her hair without elastics for more than 30 years

Yeessss. I'm not Asian, but my hair might as well be, since it does the same thing
I have same problems with my hair although I'm not Asian. Heavy, silky and extremely straight hair...
gotta specify that East-Asian cause we South-Asians do not have stiff and sleek hair
I'm not Asian, but my hair type is quite similar to what you described so I would also like to see a video for that!
Also it tends to be darker and all the braids that look so cool just. Do not show up :(
OMG WHAT IF YOU GOT CLIP IN BANGS AND CUT THEM INTO CURTAIN BANGS!!!!
You should do a blindfolded hair challenge! OR a blindfolded doing my sisters hair, makeup, and picking out her outfit blindfolded! I love you so much!
