@@conthaubergeraybe it has some ties to Egyptian stuff. "You miserable coward! Come back and face me like a man!" -- the original Russell/John Van Pelt (now keep in mind that we found out Van Pelt's first name in "Jumanji: welcome to the jungle" when he was portrayed as a corrupt treasure hunter and not the original, menacing big game hunter...)
I Love they made Williams biggest fear taking on the form of his father It's quite deep really and I Love It !! Especially after living with an abusive caregiver at one stage of my life in childhood
Sarah says that Alan ending up in the jungle was not an accident, but actually, it was an accident. The way she said it was as if she meant for it to happen, and that's not very nice. Alan was even in danger when Van Pelt was going after him, and they weren't even worried about him.
You know the scene where Van Pelt tries to get some new ammo in the gun shop? Okay, you know those gold coins? Those are Canada 🇨🇦 Golden Loonie Dollars, all dated 1987. It turns out I still have one of them left. It was given to my parents as a gift, after visiting Canada 🇨🇦, in 1996.
Holy crap....I just realised.....is Van Pelt played by the same actor who plays Jim's dad?!!?!?!?!? "Makes you feel just like a child?!" Dang! He's like a representation of Jim's dad in Jumanji?!!??!?!
Van Pelt should be hunting animals, not his own kind. That's what human hunters are suppose to do. He's no hunter, he's a murderer. Yeah, I know this was how the game presented him this way, but still, one can't help what a sicko he is.
I always wondered if the main characters could actually defeat Van Pelt, like if Alan had picked up a shotgun or something and blasted him would the game have allowed him to win against Van Pelt or would Van Pelt reform like the T1000?
It’s a kit bashed Winchester 1901 shotgun. Modified to fire rifle munitions, given a beefier barrel, wider wooden frame and a magazine conversion. It’s fictional and wouldn’t work IRL, but Van Pelt is supernatural so who cares.
Even though Alan doesn't appear to be a savage jungle man, Van Pelt still wants to hunt and kill him. I never new that Van Pelt was portrayed by the same actor who also portrayed Sam Parrish until I had re-watched Jumanji and read the Cast of Characters section of the end credits. After watching the 1995 film and the 2017 film by comparison, I can't seem to decide which version of Van Pelt I like better: the big-game hunter (portrayed by Jonathan Hyde) or the reimagined corrupt archaeologist (portrayed by Bobby Cannavale). Either way, there's no doubt that Alan would still be afraid of him.
Me? I don’t know. Everything about me he finds offensive. You think it would be a waste of his time…… Love that whole exchange. You ask a dumb question. That response is classic.
That’s like some Plague Doctor logic where that SCP says he is the cure and wants to wipe out humans claiming they’re infected. Van Pelt basically thinks of Alan in this way, some “threat” that needs to be eliminated.
I have a theory that Alan may have survived long enough in Jumanji's pocket dimension, may have been because of Van Pelt's doing. Van Pelt lives to hunt the deadliest game and the best way to do that, is to have someone who can both survive and fight back. He may have taught Alan how to survive and how to hunt. When Alan was old enough to be able to survive on his own, he let Alan lose in the jungle and probably told him that he either kills Van Pelt (if that's even possible) or Van Pelt kills Alan. It kind of makes sense in theory since Van Pelt keeps taunting Alan into facing him instead of running away.
Always loved that they used the same actor for Van Pelt and Alan's father. Such a great way of showing Alan's inner conflict with his dad.

@@kenobigaming5755 I'm going to assume you're meme'ing rn.
@@origamipein18 yup
I love how Van Pelt makes you feel like prey. Constantly ranting “I’m gonna getcha. Don’t matter how far you run, I can smell you.”
That's wonderful film...👌🥰
This is the Peter Pan tradition. Whoever plays the father in the story also does the main villain.
Van Pelt is here! Run, Alan! RUN!!!!! He's coming after you!
Sarah: Don't ever call me crazy Alan ever Because everyone in this town has called me crazy.Ever since I told the cops that you were Sucked into a board game
Me: Why would you even tell that to the cops?Like there was any way they were going to believe you
I love the way Alan is running 😆
At 0:45 Van Pelt felt the point of the sword 🗡LMFAO.😂
"A hunter from the darkest wild, will make you feel just like a child"
The sudden terror Alan's filled with the second he starts reading the text.
Van Pelt is very much like the character General Zaroff from the story: "The Most Dangerous Game".
0:26 Van Pelt
I only realized as an adult that Van Pelt was also Alan's Dad (the actor) but was probably intentional to symbolize him as an antagonist for Alan
Alan: A Hunter from (standing up with fear) the darkest wild, makes you feel just like a child.
Sarah: What is it?
Alan: Van Pelt!
(Bang!)
0:34 You Miserable Coward! Come Back And Face Me Like A Man!!
This part was always scary waiting for the stampede to bust through that shelf.
1:19 Do me a favor Jumanji movie creator, when I get my 1991 Chevrolet Caprice.....stay away from mine.
'Why me? I don't know! Everything about me, he finds offensive. You'd think it'd be a waste of his time.'
One of the many lines that stick with me.
A hunter from the darkest Wild makes you feel just like a child
0:29-1:32 is my favorite part
I am the only one who finds Van Pelt's resemblance to the T-1000 because of the moment when a fragment of a saber was drawn into the hunter.
Thinking that would’ve been Kraven the hunter in Kristen dust eyes .
1:16 😂😂😂
elephant rifle!
Something strange I noticed about the sword Alan throws at Van Pelt. It seem to just miss the hunter's right shoulder, but then in the next shot of him, it seems to have struck him but he pulls it out effortlessly
Either it just stabbed the fabric of his sleeve or he really did get stabbed but as a construct of Jumanji he's essentially immortal that can only be defeated by winning the game.
1:03 or 1:04 & 1:12 The Sound of Van Pelt’s Elephant Gun sounds like Thunder while he’s shooting outside. Well Van Pelt is the greatest hunter of Jumanji & AKA in Jumanji & he sometimes goes to shoot himself animals such as an Elephant. Hence, an Elephant Gun.
More like, an apex predator. He's also takes on the likeness of alan's father so,"makes you feel just like a child"is about not just afraid of him, but becoming like them!
“ A hunter from the darkest wild makes you fell just like a child. 0:15- Van Pelt! 0:25

Happy birthday bonnie alias sarah from italian boy live in rome and I m fan of this fantastic movie
I was today yers old when I realized Van Pelt & the Father are the ame actor.
I Love they made Williams biggest fear taking on the form of his father
It's quite deep really and I Love It !! Especially after living with an abusive caregiver at one stage of my life in childhood
This seems like the chicken and peter fights
Sarah says that Alan ending up in the jungle was not an accident, but actually, it was an accident. The way she said it was as if she meant for it to happen, and that's not very nice. Alan was even in danger when Van Pelt was going after him, and they weren't even worried about him.
Whoosh
You know the scene where Van Pelt tries to get some new ammo in the gun shop? Okay, you know those gold coins? Those are Canada 🇨🇦 Golden Loonie Dollars, all dated 1987. It turns out I still have one of them left. It was given to my parents as a gift, after visiting Canada 🇨🇦, in 1996.

This Movie is Great I remember my parents showing this movie to me ngl is pretty funny with Robin Williams he's the best and Funny
well cool shotgun i may say and sound fx is the best on 12 gauge shotguns
What kind of gun is Can Pelt using?
What is Sarah talking about in 1:54 to 2:11? I don't follow her.
Happy birthday at van pelt from italian boy live in rome and I m fan of jumanji
Sonny Jim!
Funny how he calls Alan a coward and to face him like a man when he’s holding a big ass rifle 😂
The Genie has to deal with Van Pelt while Sally keeps Judy and Peter safe
You mean Mary Jane & Chip.
Or more Like Genie deals with Titanic's creator himself.
00:49 Am I the only one who thought it manly how Van Pelt gripped the sword by the blade?
Holy crap....I just realised.....is Van Pelt played by the same actor who plays Jim's dad?!!?!?!?!? "Makes you feel just like a child?!" Dang! He's like a representation of Jim's dad in Jumanji?!!??!?!
Yes
Always wondered why van pelt was after Alan and why he was trying to steal the game from them
So he can lure him it to a trap
anyone know the make and model of the gun please
0:36
Why would he fight someone with a gun
So Billy lied when he told Alan Sarah was his girlfriend? Cuz she doesn't even remember him.
I fell bad for carl and his car, by rewatching all the clip... they were abused to trouble the whole movie
Carl should've just stayed home not going to lie lol.
Russel Van Pelt
Van Pelt should be hunting animals, not his own kind. That's what human hunters are suppose to do. He's no hunter, he's a murderer. Yeah, I know this was how the game presented him this way, but still, one can't help what a sicko he is.
You might've told us there was a man with a rifle who hunts people!
Well I didn't know, OK? It's just a roll of the dice!
Is he the reason you didn't want to play?
I always wondered if the main characters could actually defeat Van Pelt, like if Alan had picked up a shotgun or something and blasted him would the game have allowed him to win against Van Pelt or would Van Pelt reform like the T1000?
Nonsense Sarah! There's no talking to Van Pelt.
What kind of gun is that anyway? Lol
An elephant gun
It’s a kit bashed Winchester 1901 shotgun. Modified to fire rifle munitions, given a beefier barrel, wider wooden frame and a magazine conversion. It’s fictional and wouldn’t work IRL, but Van Pelt is supernatural so who cares.
@@SeriouslySirius1066 Just as supernatural as his late Sniper-scope'd USAS-12!!

2:43: why me, idk 🤷🏾♂️. Everything he about me he finds offensive you’d think it’ll be a waste of his time.
You think it would be a waste of his time……
Love that whole exchange. You ask a dumb question. That response is classic.
That’s like some Plague Doctor logic where that SCP says he is the cure and wants to wipe out humans claiming they’re infected. Van Pelt basically thinks of Alan in this way, some “threat” that needs to be eliminated.
Genie meets the Titanic's creator himself.....
Gunshot begins at 0:28.
Strange how Van Pelt was changed to steal Jumanji’s sacred jewel
THIS Van Pelt is better & scarier than the 2017 version.
0:47 should have gone for the head
Today van pelt 76 years
I wonder how old was Alan when Van Pelt started hunting him.
Probably teenager or something like that.
When Alan sucked into the game, he was a kid.
Man is love to have a gun like that. Just look at that barrel.
