I went to art classes like 6 years ago and one day I said that Bob Ross was my favorite artist, then my teacher told me that he wasn't a real artist... I never went back to those classes
How could she say that!?
Can’t stand arrogant teachers like that.
What a horrible teacher.
My college art teacher said "Among a lot of painters and art critics, Bob Ross and his methods are subjects of contention, but the results are undeniably successful because he was able to bring effective techniques to the public without having to spend years and fortunes on learning how to paint."
@@nightkaiju9860 I think that says it all: people aren’t paying these instructions small fortunes each. That’s why he’s so controversial. Beyond that, it’s not even “his” method of painting. He started out painting ‘traditionally’ and learned this particular style of alla prima painting from his friend and mentor Bill Alexander.
He would've been one of the best live streamers ever.
he is the best dead streamer ever
+lilsquidlett true
+lilsquidlett wow
RUINED
Everyone fall asleep midstream.
The only show that's just as enjoyable with your eyes closed.
I agree
:) :) :) :) :) :) yes yes yes yes yes yes
My ten year old told me the other night he likes to listen with his eyes closed and try to see what he’s painting. He said it’s never like he imagined but he’s loves it anyway.
@@mollyking1387 That's so sweet and nice childhood memories to look back on one day. 💕
Love Bob, love this painting, but when I look at it i looks like I need very strong glasses 🤭🙂
Only Bob Ross can tell a story of a 'pet' alligator as a child that bit him everyday and make it sound like something everyone did growing up.
Bob Ross and his tribe of critters were truly "born free".
This is the first episode I have seen where he didn't beat the devil out of the brush. I have heard there is a cemetery where THOUSANDS of devils are buried. Their lifeless bodies scraped from the floors of pbs studios.
ricedude81 🤣 👍
Hilarious
Today is December 5 2023...the world is going haywire, everything is getting crazy, and yet if you come to this channel, with Bob, you can feel good, be at peace!❤❤❤❤❤❤
"We're like drug dealers. We come into town and get people absolutely addicted to painting." - Bob Ross
Hey man. Hey hey hey. You got any pthalo blue? I just ran out and I'm jonesin for a fix.
Christopher Lacroix order some paint 🎨 from a website?? Stores are closed
@@calsavestheworld naw...but i got some really good titanium white
@@calsavestheworld Yo, that Alizarin Crimson will get you high as a kite!
That cobalt was fiiiiiire
I was worried about running out of episodes when I realized there are 31 seasons. LOL! I am excited now!
+Rosey Morearty Yes, plenty of soothing sounds left!
It's really great isn't it. I'm certainly glad you could join us today.
almost over now :(
And they're really rewatchable
Theres 202 hours of Bob Ross Joy Of Painting on UA-cam. Even if you watch them all, they’re all great to rewatch
If I could get a foot massage, a haircut, and watch Bob paint all at the same time, I may just slip over into another dimension and evolve into pure peaceful energy.
I agree
+kajo H ironically Bob Ross seems to have never felt the pleasure of a haircut himself
+kajo H Just take your laptop or Ipad to a spa with good WiFi signal. Problem solved lol...
Bruno Martins He couldn’t. That Afro was trademarked, he was forced to wear it.
@@zombieslayer2003 you make sound like a hat or something 😄
A barbershop on Cape Cod plays bob ross episodes on their tv while you get a haircut. Its awesome!
The tattoo shop where I get all my work done plays Bob Ross.
The best thing about quarantine was rediscovering this gentle man. May his spirit soar. Happy painting.
Quarantine?Covid is a lie wake up 🐑
Each time I look the sky, I can't help thinking Bob has painted it.
if bob ross was to have became president we'd fall asleep watching his state of the union address because his voice is so soothing . 😀
Yes it is
@Nickhead87 I dont think the devil can be beaten out of a certain corrupt president but id love to give it a shot.
No matter how shitty the day might be, you can always end it on the sofa, eyes closed/open, warm under a blanket, with Bob Ross videos. 💯
Omg he did not just compare himself to a drug dealer. I LOVE THIS GUY LOL
We need more people like bob Ross in this world❤️
I'm from Brazil and I met this wonderful artist now, 40 years old and struggling to paint... but then I saw a picture of him with one of his phrases that changed my motivation:
"As long as you're learning, you won't be failing."
It really changed my life. I had suffered a life knockout before he had me back up.
Thanks Bob!!
Nothing compares with Bob Ross positive energy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
The world needs more Bobs. Thank goodness for the Joy of Painting
Im a bob and i agree. Lol god bless.
My dads name is Bob
Nostalgia levels are high watching these episodes.... reminds me of rushing home from school to watch bob Ross then Rex hunt fishing straight after..... those were the days😊
Adam Davies
I wasn’t lucky enough to have these heroes on TV as a kid ,
It must have been awesome having Bob “beating the devil “ out of his brush one minute, and then Rex kissing a Barramundi the next.! - and all before Tea!
I love Bob Ross using the word gnarley. Bob Ross was the best
I fall asleep to these videos everyday 😴😴
Me too
Me too!
Same here 😀
I can't as well as I used to, because now I want to see the painting through to the end.
Do u mean night?
You don't even have to paint along with him just WATCH and LISTEN it's GREAT.
Now imagine if Bob Ross and Steve Irwin had met. Steve could have shown Bob how to wrestle alligators and crocodiles, and Bob could've shown Steve how to make wonderful little paintings.
Can we get Mr. Rodgers in on this.
I’m not sure any of us would have deserved that meeting of the minds
His son actually is a painter and photographer. He does wonderful paintings to wildlife as well as Bob Ross’ videos himself!! Amazing family....
🥺
When he mentioned his "pet" alligator, and said everyday it bit him, you can faintly hear them laughing in the studio. This actually occurred quite often if you really listen. It proves that EVERYONE was captivated by this man, even those who had been there from the start.
Bob Ross is a hypnotist.
And we are all being hypnotized
To watch more
And relax...
And watch...
And...
I forgot...
Zzzzz
This is probably my favourite one. I love those shades of green
I came into this video like oh I'm gonna watch like five minutes, I just wanna finally know what exactly bob Ross was famous for. I'm currently 15 minutes in and don't plan on leaving until I've reached my nirvana and have reached eternal peace.
I couldn't agree. More! Michael McClary
I'M waiting for Mr. Ross to "top" himself! It's just not possible!!!!!!!! He is the best!!! Michael McClary
Yeah, man... Just relax. Hang out for a while. Let yourself go for a bit.
July 4,Bob Ross passed away,25 year's. I always loved him,A real gentle man,and very talented..with a beautiful Voice..
ive been painting and watching bob for several yrs he taught me alot i wouldnt be painting if not for his shows and tapes
I love the color green..this is one of my all time favorites,,,it is so rich in color and depth he makes me smile everyday..so soothing and so many episodes still to watch!!! I'm hooked.
In a world that glorifies hustle and being deserving only when you've given every ounce of yourself, we all need an alternate world where the worst addiction you can have is painting, and the biggest test of bravery is deciding where to put a tree.
Watching him "scribble" in the paint with the fan brush is like watching a moth flap it's wings lol crazy how fast he can do that!!
I used to watch Bob Ross when I was a kid. I couldn't keep my eyes away of the painting! Nostalgia
He paints So Quick. He really makes you believe you can do it.
Bob had a bloody alligator as a "pet."
That just makes him even better!
Almost a Walrus
Totally agree with what you are saying,
But,
There’s something not quite right when you imagine “Bob Ross the Bad Ass”
That moment when someone actually speaks english perfectly enough for the auto generated subtitle to actually work :o
It's strange that I never knew Bob Ross, but I sure do miss him.
I simply love his paintings as they take me to places of serenity that I can be at peace within self relax and even fall asleep :-) This is a real beauty !
Thank you again for sharing :-) 5 thumbs up high
amen
Hallelujah Through Jesus Christ
I just love watch bob Ross paint every night. I used to watch him as a child and I still do. It relaxes me and hes always inspired me to do his techniques. I'm now doing paintings like his. And I'm going to put my paintings on my you tube channel. I wanna keep his dream alive. If he were still alive he would be proud to read all of the comments and to see more paintings that he inspired people to do. More people need to start painting and relax and be happy in this day and age in 2020. I love bob ross !! He's my hero!! I wonder if steve ross is still painting and doing videos. No one beats bob rosses paintings. I laugh when bob laughs when he beats the brushes clean . Bob ross rules!
When he started doing the leaves its already amazing 😂😂😂
A very unique scene mostly with yellow, very nice, thank you.
Love this ,it's beautiful . ..I wish Bob was able to read the comments .
This is my favorite painting from Bob Ross.... Just amazing.
This has become my favorite episode. The one I pull up on my phone even at work when I need to relax. Speaking of which I am almost positive there is a direct relationship between listening to his voice and the soft sounds of the brush and being put in a state of relaxation and even feeling better in your body. There must be happy little endorphins or similar. hormones released during the relaxation process.
He was the original ASMRtist 😊
Oh, wonderfully peaceful way to impart your skill and understanding of painting to others. Sometimes not so young hopefuls. I think you could paint anything you wanted. Greatly missed Mr Ross
Bob Ross likens himself to a drug dealer and it sounds so innocent.
Marihuana weed is color green too.
I can never be upset with you bob
Honest to God, I got into oil painting because of Bob here & anytime I'm blending anything, all I hear in my head is "one hair & some air".
My favorite episode uploaded on my birthday. Bob Ross be working his happy little magic ways from above and beyond. Miss him af.

Happy Birthday
Happy birthday (≧∇≦)/
I really miss watching Bob Ross paint in real life on television.🤓👍✔️
We need a modern-day Bob Ross that live streams all his videos for us.
It's pretty damn amazing that he never dips his shirt in the paint by accident
I know I was thinking the same thing
Who else here tapped like button even before start watching it.
One of my favorite BR paintings, a masterpiece!!
When I have trouble sleeping I can listen to him and kinda shuts me down
Bob Ross was the greatest paint legend of all-time.
Just add a little bit of hwhite.
My favourite painting
still my favourite painting
Aaaah the intro. Way more complete with it..
Anybody know the song?
+BRTUS "interlude" by L.Owens
Shake and bake, baby! Even Bob Ross loves Talladega Nights! 🤣
Emerald green is one of my favorite colors because I like all in the spectra rainbow from black to white
I love this one, it's so different. He rarely makes sap green or clean cad yellow a major color in his paintings, even though he always has them on his palette. But he usually makes the trees essentially black and a yellow mix.
Literally on of the finest human beings to ever live. We have been so blessed to have this mans gift and choice to share it in our lives.
Im starting to enjoy Bob Ross more than just about anything else on the internet.
He’s got it, he’s found it. It’s like he’s got magic in a bottle......he’s so happy and has figured out life and what it’s about. I need to be content like this. I’m always stressing for more or this or that. I would kill to be happy and relaxed like this.
did bob ross create gnarly as a colloquialism?
Emerald green, turquoise blue, orange, Indian yellow will be my colors I use for my next painting!!
3:17
literally no one ever except Bob Ross:
"when I was a kid, I had a pet alligator"
Bob paints so fast and perfectly. How is he not covered in a green shirt? He is so Amazing in dialogue and skills. This is my favorite green painting now. Deeply green and atmospheric.....
" 'ares a bugger lives 'n 'ere." He's so funny xD
I painted along to this episode, and the end result I came up with is perhaps my favorite I've done so far. It's not perfect by any means, but the colors all played together in a way that makes it pleasant to look at. I was even pleased with following along to the bravery test at the end.
If anyone has trouble with the basecoat on the black canvases, I advise using a very very thin coat of liquid clear, and adding the necessary colors on top before you start letting loose with the fan brush.
It was really enjoyable to have him do something fairly repetitive which gave him time to tell us a bit about his background.
My favorite paintings of Boss Ross are almost always when he uses the black gesso.
he is the picture of happiness
21:42 shake and bake!
"Gnarly. That's a good sounding word." 🤙🏄♀🌊🦈
"Super day"
What an amazing way to look at life
I absolutely love painting from my imagination. I'm actually painting on a black canvas and wow. The colour's really pop! Thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial video
I m not good at English, but I can understand what he is saying, all the feeling, the joy, the happiness he is sharing with us. nowadays, find this kind of human being is really really rare. And as always, we still got 110 haters.
This might be my favourite BR backgrounds ever
I love how he taught and told you to do it your way at the same time.
Bob Ross makes nature cool! :D
Only Bob Ross could bring up having a pet alligator so calmly that you're just kinda like "Huh...okay."
4:19 try to spot the screaming, drugged up Mickey Mouse! Lol 😂
I've always wondered where the word gnarly came from
Now we know bob created it!
Beautiful
Favourite one of all time
Drop in a happy little flower by your bush. Just dab the very tip and make four drops close together and scratch in tiny stems with the small knife
11:13 ...”we tell people sometimes we’re like drug dealers, we come into town and get people absolutely addicted to painting.” LMAO 😂😂😂 Man Bob Ross had some zingers, I tell ya!! LoL
Bob Ross said we need more happiness in the World, which painting does. I think now in 2021, with the climate of the World in peril, we need prayer, Bob Ross, AND Jesus to return to Planet Earth.
I love listening to Bob painting.
Bravissimo, complimenti!
Everyone knows that Bob Ross is a painter, but I also recognize him as a philosopher. His fundamental ontological view is animistic and absolutely contrary to reductive materialism. It is akin to the Shintoism of the East. It is in sympathy with German Romanticism, with Schelling who recognized an identical, indifferent, absolute substratum in both nature and spirit. Bob enlightens you to this truth without using specialized academic language, but simply by painting, speaking conversationally, and dropping these koans. He was a very special and unique person and it is extremely fortunate that these videos exist for posterity. Bob isn't here to lull you into the stupor of the lotus eater; he's here to awaken you to a deeper understanding of spirit, nature, the will, and representation.
11:10 is all you need to see folks
I seen similar swamp scenes in Louisiana and eastern Texas.
I don't understand how these videos get dislikes at all. *(At the time of writing the video came out 2 hours ago and it already has dislikes)*
6 hours ago, only 1
+Ünkel Dünkel maybe just a little happy mistake ;)
+Ünkel Dünkel people are miserable and have nothing better to do with their time than to be negative and rude, it is a reflection on them...nothing more...they have nothing to be happy about and want to express how miserable and rude they are.
How do people like you not realize that drawing attention to the dislikes only generate more?
it's fine, don't worry; it's just that the devils that get beaten out of Bob's brushes are bad losers
I consider Bob Ross my therapist, confidante, friend and yes.....personal painter teacher!
The painting looks like Mickey mouse at 5:00 when he's talking about Orlando and Disney
That is crazy!!😂😂
yup! Noticed
Amazing! Great spot by you
Oh man, did I need this. Just like one of his trees needs a friend. At least knowing having these kinds of friends won't turn on you and stab you in the back.
