    I love your videos! when the snow would get wet, we all called it "axle snapping snow!" back in the day. my buddy had a 73 f250 on 40's and I had a 78 f150 on 38"s both with 460 motors. watching your videos brings back good memories

    I wish that we could get a good dry snow. I miss the excitement of driving in it. I’m in central Virginia and we don’t see much snow here. Occasionally we get a blizzard which could equal 2 feet. I’m sure your definition of a blizzard is quite different lol but we die hard 4 wheelers out here keep hoping. If I can’t be in it at least I can watch you guys play in it. Thanks for putting in all of the effort to produce the videos. I appreciate you

      Sierra snow usually is pretty wet and heavy. A lot of moisture from storms off the Pacific ocean. But it can get really, really deep. I remember back in 1982, an El Nino year, snow depth in Tahoe City which is approx 6,000' was 18' - 20' deep.

    Miss wheeling in the mountains. Snow conditions change every 1000 foot of elevation it seems. You can always find good snow for wheeling. I miss living in the Black hills of south Dakota. Absolutely a blast in the winter. Always put your transmission in neutral and let it idle for a couple minutes before you shut off your rig after you have been working it. It helpes cool your transmission after working it in the snow. Seen guy with temp gauge at 180 on a hard up pull get to the top and shut off there rig for 10 minutes. Restart and transmission is 230 0r more. Just a suggestion for the automatic transmission guys out there. Transmission fluid don't flow through the transmission in park. Fluid flow=cool transmission 👍 great video.

    Thank you for being educational as well at the very beginning, because people will see this and want to do it because it’s fun. There is quiet a bit that goes into snow wheeling. It can be very dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing

    Sounds like you have had multiple sets of the BFG ATs and you really like them, have you ever tried mud terrains? If so, do you prefer mt's or at's for the snow?

    • @4WDAdventureCrew
      @4WDAdventureCrew  Рік тому

      I had A/T most of the time I had one set it KM2s but I prefer KOs on the snow and I’ve been with different vehicles that had M/T on the trail and they performed worse than my A/T, but of course, it’s only the type of snow we have here in Northern California some other areas M/T might be better in the snow because they dig better

    Looks like a fun trip! Just wondering if anyone in you crew is running a manual transmission. Manual is all I run in my 95 XJ Bumble Jeep. I have no lockers yet and I get around great in the snow.
    Enjoyed riding along with you and your crew. Looking forward to the next adventure. God bless, stay well.

    They call that kind of snow Sierra Cement. Really high moisture content. You go out into Nevada or to Utah and that moisture disappears. The temp drops and it turns into dust. Super cold and dry.

      Mostly I use google satellite to do my research and then I use Gaia GPS to record my trips and to keep me on trail, but to know if you are on private land or not I use OnX off-road, so in total I use all 3 but OnX is probably all around App

    Big new storm yesterday, 12/10 and today 12/11. The snow has to be pretty deep now. Really high winds down here next to the coast, had a big pine tree on our property blow over. Smashed an old Coleman tent trailer we had parked.
