    i do dressage and yet it is still a wonder to me how they have such harmony between them
    and how fluid the movements are

    They move so beautifully and gracefully! I wish I had a horse… I love them so much and every time I see one I need one even more!
    I have like 20 drawings and stuffed animals of them, too many calendars, stickers, and blankets with horses on them.

    The way these horses move are so amazing, beautiful, and unique. Wish I do this, but I do jumping, you're probley wondering why not do both? Yet, I can't.. I can't pay for it, I pay for all my lessons and horse care like most should.

      If you want to do it you could always try and look up training videos. I know that sounds stupid, but I've actually learned a lot by watching videos and there are some good dressage ones.

      I do jumping too! I tried cross country once...never again😂 I also tried dressage but I'm not nearly as delicate enough, I'm more of a ruff and tumble rider.

    • @goathead5073
      @goathead5073 7 років тому

      No Name Apparently not. Even those stables exhibit cruel treatment. Whipping the horses to perform unnatural gaits and tightening their bits so much to the point where foam is pouring out of their mouths.
      It's not natural.

      I agree that some people still want to take shortcuts but thankfully now it's almost impossible to achieve anything by using abusive methods, nowadays judges really pay attention to how relaxed,soft and willing the horses are. If you try to train through fear you will get results faster but horses who are trained humanly, slowly and with better methods will always perform better

    What a contrast in the stands compared to London 2012 -- it was like a ghost town in Rio.

    • @mirandasaborio4742
      @mirandasaborio4742 6 років тому

      Lady J equestrian sports are generally further away, but I think in London they were closer to the main Olympic center - making more people able to go, or want to go as it isn’t as far. In Rio it may have been further away, or other sports may have been going on.

      It is called a double bridle and I agree that it seems unnecessary to use both bits in the horse's mouth but that's what the rules dictate. Very, very, few riders are able to effectively use a double bridle; in the wrong hands, they are an instrument of torture.

    I don't know why I'm watching this... nah I don't like dressage it just looks so unnatural and... i don't know. That's not a horses destiny and a horse should be a friend and not a money maker. Idk how to say! I know, not every dressage rider just do it because of the money and not every dressage rider don't care about his horse... but the most do/ do not...

    • @laurentregaskis44
      @laurentregaskis44 7 років тому +11

      H C.H not necessarily true. I do agree some people ruin their horses by not riding them with respect but i can tell you most people train their horses and wouldn't be able to do well if the people and their horses didn't get along. Horses are beautiful animals with their own and thoughts, and riders must spend as much time caring and bonding with their horses as well as training them; and these olympians do just that.

    • @stephaniekelly5990
      @stephaniekelly5990 7 років тому +2

      I believe a horse should project whatever the rider desires. It isn’t like the horse will hate you. And yes, some dressage riders are careless, but people are higher than the animal. You can’t let them be above you.

      Please explain how it is a money maker - if that is the case, I am quite sure I would have followed my dream instead of becoming a Banker. Rarely, if ever, can you make enough money to turn riding into a viable business (hence why it is a hobby and not a job), you are always 'robbing Peter, to pay Paul"!

    • @princesszo6106
      @princesszo6106 6 років тому +1

      Iva Donelli Humans owning a horse is not natural, we riding them is not natural. If it's not natural it doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad for the horse

    • @ivadonelli5842
      @ivadonelli5842 6 років тому

      horses riding humans is not natural, but it doesn't mean it's bad for a human? are you dumb, ignorant or both?

    • @princesszo6106
      @princesszo6106 6 років тому +1

      I'm neither, thank you very much.

    • @princesszo6106
      @princesszo6106 6 років тому +2

      And your point is very weak, there are thousands of reasons why 'horses riding humans' is bad but not really any on humans riding horses. Of course it can hurt the horse if you do it the wrong way but no actual equestrian wants to couse pain on their animal, horses show that they are in pain in many ways yet in dressage, we can't see any of them. Dressage is based on horses doing difficult movements while staying calm, relaxed and soft, working with the rider and not against them. I don't think a horse in pain would do that... 🙄 😏

    humans make these poor horses perform for humans vanity. this sport needs to be removed from the olympics. theres nothing natural that these horses are doing or theyd be doing it in the wild. smdh

  • @pinksparkles-kz8jj
    @pinksparkles-kz8jj 7 років тому +2

    I sound ignorant and I'm note trying to offend anyone. I do show jumping myself and haven't done dressage. What is so difficult about dressage? You don't have to post? The horse does all the dancing.

    • @annabelhichisson7131
      @annabelhichisson7131 7 років тому +7

      pinksparkles2278 would you like to teach your horse to get a perfect lengthened trot? seems hard to me and that’s one of the “easiest” things they do but I guess it’s your opinion! I do prefer showjumping or xc anyway

    • @pinksparkles-kz8jj
      @pinksparkles-kz8jj 7 років тому +7

      Annabel Hichisson oh my goodness I need to delete my comment. I've been watching much more dressage videos and can agree that it is extremely hard. The rider does all the cues, the horse doesn't just do all of the moves on it's own. I'm sorry. I do still prefer showjumping but I've grown a much bigger appreciation of dressage in two months.

    • @annabelhichisson7131
      @annabelhichisson7131 7 років тому

    • @juliakacala8204
      @juliakacala8204 7 років тому +2

      Wow. Some people like you are so annoying, it is NOT easy whatsoever, would your horse be able to do a perfect canter and dressage moves like this on their own with no training? I don't think so. You have to control and ride every single move, every second like my instructor says.

      It is definitely not done like that in dressage, this method is mostly used in circus horses or horses who perform in carnivals, in dressage its impossible to achieve anything by using so abusive methods

  • @eunmin321
    @eunmin321 7 років тому

    I don't like dressage, just watching since I have nothing else to watch. Dressage is pain for horses since people could do rollkur and white froth comes out from the mouth. So unnatural and a bit like, abusing them for money.

    • @princesszo6106
      @princesszo6106 6 років тому +7

      Morgan Lee It's actually not painful for the horse, the point of dressage is to perform with a willing, relaxed and soft horse, this requires a horse to not be in pain and enjoy what they're doing, the foaming of the mouth is a good thing as it shows that the horse is working through the mouth, it also shows that the rider has steady and soft hands. If you're horse is in pain because of the bit he's mouth will be dry and he will probably try to resist your contact
