I struggled over the last year and had the shanks bad. Was considering quitting because I couldn't play anymore. Everything else didn't work. This helped keep the club in front of me during the pivot and synched up my timing and clubhead awareness. Seems like something that's not important but it really is what I needed.
Well I’m sorry you have been struggling but yes, more often than not , the smallest adjustment at set up or holding the club can make all the difference in the world. Keep at it. 👍🏌🏽
A great reminder. I learned accidentally at the range that if I squeeze the grip before the downswing, I hit the ball better. I practiced what you said in my living room and I can't wait to try this on the range later today. Thanks for keeping it simple.
Discovered this on a really horrible round of golf. My grip had gotten lazy and I got the club back more in my fingers. However after a few swings my pinky was getting a little raw, I have not been using a glove. Now I have a reason to use a glove again. Shot my best scoring round of the year this week. Hands are melded together as a unit now.
I’m doing a drill where I hinge all the way up and take the club back giving me depth that I have never had. I have played 4 rounds with this swing /drill and have shot 2 over in two of them as an 8hcp
Thanks for this great tip I will give it a try next time I go to the range .The cocking of the wrist has been a huge problem for me and the inconsistant feelings I have in the wrists on the back swing . Hopefully this advice will help .One question on the down swing would the pinkies ease off or remain firm pressure like in the back swing ?
More than welcome. I'd steer away from minutia like that in the downswing. It's happening way to quickly and you want main movements rather than tiny thoughts.
Got a competitive round tommorow, revisiting because several months ago this helped a lot. Kinda forgot about this gem. Golf is a mind F**K isn't it?😂😂😂 Thanks!
Absolute GOLD.
Ill actually set up with my pinky slightly off the handle, and pull it like a trigger to start my swing.
This really worked for me. I've never in my life have been able to hit the ball higher and compress the ball more consistently ❤
I've done this for decades and it defintely works. I've not heard it explained any better than this video.
That’s great to hear! 🏌🏽💪👌

Excellent. Tried this on the range today with 7 iron and a half swing. Great contact from first ball.
That's awesome to hear! Great contact can really make a difference in your game. Keep practicing with that half swing!

Class advice, new to golf and watching your channel has really helped with the fundamentals, and increasing the small intricacies
Welcome aboard to this ludicrous game. Enjoy the learning process and the up and downs... it never ends and that's the beauty of it lol
This is gold ❤❤❤

That's a brilliant tip as always..Thank you indeed
My pleasure! It's an unusual tip for some, but very effective.

This is perfect with irons - does it also help with hybrids, woods and driver?
Wow, it really works!
Thank you ...
You're welcome!
Thank you. You’ve helped me. Cheers.
Glad to hear it!
Awesome!
Doing total swing rebuild, this will be key 👍
Most of the time it does not require a total rebuild... a couple of princiles and keys can piece a lot together. Keep at it!
Do you ease up on the pressure in the down swing or do you hold it all the way through the swing to the finish?
same question - please reply?
@@joshuasfeldman did anyone ever find out?

How’d it go?
When do you release the pressure of the little finger... On the downswing... Top bottom ???
I think I’m not doing this ‘high’ enough and why I’m always below the plane. This promotes the below plane drop in downswing it seams too?
Does this method apply for drivers also?
Yes indeed it can
Apply same hinge for driver shots?
As mentioned in your other comments, yes but later. It happens naturally when you don’t try to hinge so much
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf haha yes, I went broad so I would get a response :) thank you, love your videos
Think I am gonna practice an early wrist hinge.
The best part of this drill is it works with all 3 grip styles.
Yes for sure! Cheers
The real secret of taking away 🙏👍
It's a neat little trick that enables a lot of good things happen. Cheers!
This is hogan.
Really I had never heard that.
