Who would have thought that a flowerpot could be so beautiful - makes me reminisce about "Bill and Ben - the flower pot men" lol

I love your videos and the way you teach. Your videos on mixing colors and techniques are the best. I'd love it if you did a video on seascapes with rocks someday. Thank you so much!
Great suggestion!
This is so informative (as usual). I am a total beginner but able to follow you. Well done!
I'm so glad!

Thank you too, Luce!

That's what i wanted in life a informative video on watercolor shadows thank u Michelle 😄❤️❤️
I'm so glad you like it!
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber ❤️❤️
Very informative, thank you!
You are very welcome!
Oh my gosh. This tutorial is just fantastic. I tried to do fabric in a basic drawing class. It was a disaster (of course). The teacher was not able (or possible unwilling) to help me figure it out after the completed picture was critiqued. I have always in awe of fabric shadows. This has helped me immensely ! Thank you, Michele.
That's great, so pleased 🙂
Another WONDERFUL video, Michele! This information is critical and I am so very thankful you put it out here for us. I am going over to the Jackman’s site to see about purchasing your Shadows Set. The colours look amazing ❤️ Edit: just purchased YAY!
Fabulous, I hope you love them!
Great video and one to revisit. I like your tip of not bringing the water quite up to your edge. Duh! Have never thought of this. Thanks, Teach!
Very helpful. Shadows are so difficult. I’d love a video on fabric painting - maybe 2 - one for simple plain fabric and one for lace.
Oh lace would be fun!
this is very useful, thank you x
No worries ☺️
I love the colours you've created for this new kit. Will watch at least a few more times before I can say anything intelligent. Great paints, great examples!
Thank you so much!
Thank you this is really helpful. Do you have a video on painting white flowers on white paper please?
Very useful information will watch your other shadow videos Thank you
You're welcome 😃
Yes please.
Surely,
Great , helpful, Super, and good 👍
Thanks a lot
Thx as always Michele for another great tutorial. And I’d love for you to do a comprehensive fabric tutorial please. 🥰💕🐶💕😷🥰
Adding it to the list!
I hope we’re not sucking your spirit dry. Sorry Michele. 🥰
Very good Congratulations
Thank you! Cheers!
thank you sooooo much for this video. i had a lot of struggle with shadows before heheh
Glad I could help!
Yes, please, to fabric!
It'd be great if at the end of a technique video like this you did a quick pan over your paper so we could see what everything looks like dry. Thanks for all your videos! They are wonderful
Okay thanks for the idea, noted!
Very useful and clear. Thank you!! What about a video on shadows on faces in watercolor.?
Good idea!
Thanks Michele. I honestly thought all shadows had to be grey. How embarrassing, I sent out Christmas cards with some pine trees, with grey shadows in the snow. EEK! I should've watched your video first!
Christmas trees do not need to be realistic, I am sure they were great!
This was great tutorial. Thanks. I struggle with the shape of shadows. Do you have a tutorial for that? Thanks again.
Not yet, but it's a great idea, thank you!
You are a wonderful teacher. Your lessons are very very helpful. Sometimes when I am painting light skin as the paint dries it looks grainy. I do not know how to prevent this.
Thank you! If you mix from transparent colours you should reduce this :-)
Ps. Love your videos
Hi Michele which is the best watercolour practice paper to use ?. I don't want to use my good quality paper. I have enjoyed your video on shadows so I will look forward to practicing these tips thankyou.
I like SAA Practice (UK brand) and Bockingford. When using cheaper paper stretching it first (or buying a block) will be a big help.
Fabulous tutorial. It will help me so much with my house illustrations and the trees behind it. How do you do dappled shadows on a lawn where the sun is shining through a tree What colours would you use please. I have got the size 10 Gold Sable and I love it. So comfortable to hold as well x
Good colors for grass are ultramarine and lemon. Just work wet into wet and drop extra blue in where the shadows are.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber thank you so much. It’s good to know I was on the right lines xxx
I'm not computer savvy, however I would like to view and purchase your brushes. Please give step by step ty
Hi Pam, you might find it easier to go to my website, just put my name into google. Then choose art materials in the menu at the top of the page (it's the little square of horizontal lines if you are on a phone). Then you can select the page with the brushes and click the button which will take you to where you can buy them.
Do you sell your paints in the US. I only saw prices in £.... Do you sell individual shadow colors? Thank you.
They will send to the US yes. They are only available as a set currently, but individual colours will usually be available at a later date.
Wowser! Michelle Webber, I stumbled across your [drawing] videos and noticed that you are so very talented, with others. Talent: Are you related to Andrew Lloyd Webber?
Ha ha, not that I know of. My ancesters on one side were German immigrants, Webber is a german name ;-)
My current problem with shadows is where to put them for an object. I'm working on a tree, the light source is front right. I haven't a clue where to put the shadow of the tree on the ground. I'm so clueless when it comes to this. Do you have a video that already addresses this, please?? Hope your vacation was fantastic!!
It was thank you ☺️ I don't have a video like that (yet) looking at similar images online may help you, as may drawing an arrow temporarily. You don't have to get it dead on just make sure it's consistent across the painting 🙂
I’m definitely saving this video to look at over and over because I’m a real chicken. I have a mental disability: shadow avertion………fear of shadows……hahaha.
That's a new one! But I don't think you are alone :-)
That brush must be very slippery not to lift the blue paint (fabric example) I need that
I have a painting that I did years ago, a full sheet, and think the shadows should have been darker. But am afraid I will ruin it.......it is starfish and they look like they are about to whirl away, which I rather like
If they are simple shadows you can put another layer on top, but only if you have a steady hand, you don't want two edges, sometimes it's best to leave well alone!
I had trouble painting shadows. I got very annoyed when I could never paint them in the right spot. It all depends where there’s no light. And a shadow isn’t just one block of colour.
They can be tricky for sure!
Who does your nails
A lovely lady called Sophie!
Did not know half
I'm confused. We're talking about painting 'fabric'. Are we talking taking plain fabric and painting on it. Or are we talking about drawing on watercolour and painting the fabric for a dress - as in a portrait?
Painting fabric not painting on fabric. (Although I once made a replica Abba dress for a friend...)
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber OMG! I love ABBA! Make another and do it as as Giveaway! 🙏
Ok, I'm now with the program. Just went to the NGA for a middle ages to Picasso exhibition. I was in awe of paintings with dresses. Now it makes sense.
Could we possibly do an entire portrait tutorial with a dress...... Please.... 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@lizzy9975 lol, I love Abba too, I will give it thought. ❣️
I enjoyed the video but feel the need to comment and say a coloured nail polish is very distracting. A paler, not so distinctive shade would work much better.
Better for who? Glad you liked the video.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber I would think anyone who tunes in that is not commenting on your nails. You are teaching about shadows not about nail colour. Because they are so unusual, in my opinion, they are too noticeable. I have not seen this in other videos, where the instructor is choosing to draw attention to themselves.
@@dianacrick5089 I don't choose to draw attention to myself. This is just who I am. I get them done at a salon every 3 weeks, they are gel nails so super tough. They can only be removed by the nail technician. I love them they make me happy, I love choosing fun colours. So I won't be changing how I look day to day to accommodate the two hours a week I am filming for UA-cam.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber I understand. Thank you for your time and patience with my questions and observations.
A bit difficult for me to hear what you are saying... And I get distracted by your nails :)
