Interesting get together. I love how the stories arise as you journey through. Our shops have so many tales to tell. I met Mike when we were at Maker Faire NY . and he is a genuine fella.
Yeah, it was a calendar. I want to say it could predict a huge number of solar and celestial events... Eclipses, moon phases, comets, etc. I saw it for the planetary gear setup that it had. It was pretty amazing to think it was developed a couple thousand years ago.
A What.... oh heck, I've got way too much to get done. Normally I stick with electronics and metal, but Jimmy Diresta inspired me to get back to doing a little wood working.
So cool, to see what a shop looks like when money isn't really a hindrance. That would be a cool guy to hang around with I think. I bet you'd learn a lot. Thanks for the shop tour. Really love your videos Giaco.
Yeah it'll take longer to get ALL of the stuff he has, and you'll have less time to work on concepts or other cool projects, but that doesn't mean it's unattainable. Some people are makers and spend their money making things or acquiring the tools to make things, some people are consumers and spend their money on things that have already been made, and other people are parents and spend their money on kids. A lucky few get to be all three, or even two.
Obviously, family comes first. But I have a small woodworking shop and a few metal working tools. And my time out there is always fun. It would be a lot of fun to have a shop like this gentleman. I bet he really enjoys the time he spends there too.
Wow, certainly an amazing small shop, seeing an x carve in that environment makes me want one now! To bad there so darn expensive:( the drawbacks of being a 17yr old maker. Thanks for the tour giaco!!!!!
This is the dream. Not necessarily be a millionaire but just have a patent or two that continue to pay the bills and afford me the time to sit in my shop and tinker and build and make and invent, day-in, day-out. Thanks for sharing Giaco!
Mike is a very interesting person, cool projects. I was fortunate to visit his shop in the summer of 2016 and that light thing was an interesting concept he already had working. We had a common interest, Arduinos. Very nice shop, a bit tight in space, but very well organized. If you point to anything in that shop, Mike will tell you a story about it, its as if every little ounce within his shop is part of his heart and soul. A very nice person to know indeed. His dad was my patent attorney in 1998-2000.

What a great builder and shop. The things we make, make us. ....would love to know more about the air filtration set up, its like a dr's office in there and yet there are plasma cutters and welders, how does he pull that off?
@@JanBaars all it was was a small welding clamp connected to a helping hand thing. this guy is high on his own farts if he thinks he's got some magical prototype lol.
Wow, that's quite the workshop. 20 years from now once I've finally finished my degree and bought a house to put things in, maybe I'll be able to afford a table saw. xD
Not sure if you realize this but your Light invention can be very useful in deep underwater exploration Loved your shop tour and as an inventor, builder myself, I am currently moving along with all my machinery and supplies. I am going to build a new work shop, for both my business and my hobbies. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for sharing. Dominic
Nice video Giaco, Is this going to be a series? (next guest the segway guy) I really hope it :) IF you are going to continue this, I think there is more to see of the actual shop :P
Cool video. Some nice machines :) Do you think it's worth removing the part in the video where he talks about the restaurant? Kind of gives his address away. Just a thought.
I appreciate the video. But I don't think the significance here is the "millionaire" shop like the video is titled. I appreciate it more for the ideas and innovations and the ideas that Mike has, which drives the building of the machines and the tools and the culture around the shop. Really quite inspiring. Thanks Giaco!
im a mechanic and that light idea is awesome!! if you could implement that light to shine at what I'm looking at or what I'm working on... it would change the game... I'm always holding a light... it gets quite annoying... maybe a sensor that i stick on my ear or on a hat or something ??
With all the respect, this light-tentacle-thingy is the stuff of nightmares, it moves so smoothly it is creepy. That's some Dr Octopus tech right there.
Brilliant stuff... video guy here. Focus on your subject, with AF, then turn off AF, exposure should be fine. Perhaps get a nice wide angle lens. Very cool story.
A idea for your robot lamp is have sensor in a watch or something that you ware on your hand so the lamp will now know ware to point the light to because of the sensor that you have. You always need light on your hands in a workshop.
Trying to give constructive criticism here, but I hate the way you filmed this, please focus on what people are looking at, pointing at, and what they are doing with their hands rather than just filming their face. Although interested in the content, it was very frustrating to watch.
+i like sandwiches I know... the thing is that was not suppose to be a video... i was part of the conversation holding a recording camera... nothing more...
Man that is exacly what i think about when wondering what i'll do when i'm rich building a shop ie that. i want to see more of that an now does he have a youtube chane ?
great video Giaco, I appreciate your work there! keep it up :)
have a nice Sunday
+Jonathan Knirsch thanks brother

He was a great guy to talk to. His projects are pretty epic, that's for sure.
+Greg's Garage You figured out what was in his ipad cover didn't you?
Yeah, it was a calendar. I want to say it could predict a huge number of solar and celestial events... Eclipses, moon phases, comets, etc. I saw it for the planetary gear setup that it had. It was pretty amazing to think it was developed a couple thousand years ago.
+Greg's Garage that was pretty fascinating I must say... yes! Have a great one my friend...
A What.... oh heck, I've got way too much to get done. Normally I stick with electronics and metal, but Jimmy Diresta inspired me to get back to doing a little wood working.
Something like that Bill. It was a set of two sided planetary (no pun intended) gears that tracked all kinds of stuff.
So cool, to see what a shop looks like when money isn't really a hindrance.
That would be a cool guy to hang around with I think.
I bet you'd learn a lot.
Thanks for the shop tour.

Wow, very smart guy. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford any of his projects..
i love music, its always nice to know who the artist is......credit
Hahahaha that robot light even sounds good.
Cool video. Some nice machines :) Do you think it's worth removing the part in the video where he talks about the restaurant? Kind of gives his address away. Just a thought.
Everyone has locks on their doors in NYC. Lots, and lots of locks.
One day..... amazing.
Little lights on the tentacles blinking on and off would be cool or fade in and out all the light or have just the tentacles would be.
Welders look like shop ornaments !! LOL !
I appreciate the video. But I don't think the significance here is the "millionaire" shop like the video is titled. +cnl1213 I know that is just click bait... :)

+stephen deben I know right? :)
cool stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Wow...incredible...Thank you UA-cam and Glaco...rr
He's living my dream life. Except my family, which is so awesome his shop looks silly. But in my dream world I get to have it both ways.
With all the respect, this light-tentacle-thingy is the stuff of nightmares, it moves so smoothly it is creepy. That's some Dr Octopus tech right there.
+Azureus Rising ahahah yes and that's cool :)
who was recording? couldnt see what he was showing us in the beginning, late camera follow up
I think that lighting system would be perfect for a surgical theatre
Brilliant stuff... video guy here. Focus on your subject, with AF, then turn off AF, exposure should be fine. Perhaps get a nice wide angle lens. Very cool story.
If you put hid bulbs in there those would work great for a grow room!!!
Love that Jimmie's ice pick was hanging up there!

Very interesting guy. Inspires me to build stuff.
Doesn't Mike Dubno have his own channel? I remember seeing it once upon a time but can't seem to find Anything but this video on him.
+wayfastwhitie455 I think it was jimmy's vlog of the same day... in October...
Giaco Whatever Gotcha Thanks for the reply. Well then maybe he should open a channel. 🙂 Love all of y'alls work and very inspiring.
Now that's a dinner party list!
+Giaco Whatever Thank you very much for sharing this. Very inspiring!
Why doesn't Mr Dubno not have his own channel? I'd be interested as all hell in seeing is life on semi regular basis
He reminds me of adam savage, great minds with epic ideas but have that ability to keep you interested when they explain their ideas
you could do the light system with moton tracking
Trying to give constructive criticism here, but I hate the way you filmed this, please focus on what people are looking at, pointing at, and what they are doing with their hands rather than just filming their face. Although interested in the content, it was very frustrating to watch.

could have watched more- good video. thumbs up.
He drew 'Giaco Whatever' into the sand using comic sans! AS IN COMIC SANDS! genius
