Something I have noticed watching your videos is that your most important feeling or emotion is Thankfulness. I wish there was more of that in the world.
SCOTT IS ONE HECK OF A CRAFTSMAN OF THE OLE SCHOOL VARIETY!!! I JUST WISH HE WOULD WATCH MATT RISINGER’S “the build show” AND THE BUILDING SCIENCE FOLKS SO HE COULD UNDERSTAND NEW BUILDING SCIENCE FOLKS SO HE COULD UNDERSTAND THE REASONS FOR UPDATED BUILDING CODES!!! SCOTT IS A GREAT LOVABLE GUY, JUST SLIGHTLY BEHIND THE CURVE ON BUILDING SCIENCE…
Mr. Wadsworth, thank you for all you do. Going through your shop brings back great memories of my grandpa’s shop. Roof leaks are a bummer. I would offer my labor for free to help you re-roof your shop. Look me up when you’re ready, I mean it!
As a lifetime HVAC Contractor I highly recommend dumping the hanging unit heater. In operation all your heat is going to be at the ceiling. Instead I recommend a infrared heater, be it a ceramic hanging unit or a tube style heater. Instead of heating the air which rises where it does no good. An infrared heater heats objects and you directly with radiant heat energy. Huge difference in performance. Look 👀 into infrared heating.
Or...at least a perimeter hydronic /radiant partial slab that enables constant temps --perhaps a standalone woodburning boiler , pump , zone sdtup..YOUVE GOT THE FUELS....EH..?
I use a ceiling fan with mine and it works fine. Keep in mind he also has that wood burning stove as well and it will help dramatically. They need to make an infrared heater that can be aimed and can follow you around in your shop.
unless I missed it, a sawdust collection system is a necessity for the woodshop. My shop is still reeling from the effects of doing a woodworking project without one.
Outstanding shop one of the best I've ever seen the only shop that even compares belongs to a third generation Master Stone Mason but you're shop has absolutely everything! God bless you and all our wonderful Master Craftsman they really are magnificent.
YOU ARE TRULY A CRAFTSMAN .My husband gets so excited watching each of your videos . Listening to how things are done and always the safety measures included. THANK YOU HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 . STAY SAFE HAPPY AND ABOVE ALL THANK YOU AGAIN .FROM MY HUSBAND DAVID TODD
i actually worked for an old guy back in the day installing gas lines/heat/AC & he would check for gas leaks with a lighter or a propane torch lol but only on jobs where we changed a couple of pieces of pipe at the end of the line by the furnace not entire runs of pipe, gas is not as scary as people make it out to be if a few rules are followed & common sense employed, my dad ran all the gas pipe in our home anytime he wanted to move a dryer or stove he learned from the same old-timer i did 🎆🎆🎉🎉🎊🎊 Happy New Year to all the EC crew and clan Huzzah !!!
my dad always had an old building everywhere he lived, he still does. and just like yours, there's everything in there(to some people) and there's nothing(to others). may u all find an "old building" in your life, it matters.
The Tormek is the most bang for my buck thing in my workshop, get used all the time and has improved the efficiency and quality of my work. I’d recommend it to anyone working with timber.
I have always been a fan Mr. Wadsworth. I am a smith from the Philippines and I always tell the youth that I teach about the art to watch your videos for inspiration and great stories. Please dont stop making videos sir.
Salt of the Earth. Like my Grandfather. I admire you, Sir...... and I won't mention the great pipes you have should "making" ever fail, you have the Radio voice for days. Happy New Year.
I’ve been watching you for years, and obviously love the content. I’ve started watching your videos in the morning before work, while eating breakfast. Your wisdom really helps me start my day in a better mindset. Thanks for what you do, and you keep up the good work.
What a great and spacious shop. All stationed off into designated work areas and full of all of those collected, inherited, ‘procured’ old tools from over the years. Would love to putter around in there for a few days.
What a awesome shop. It's truly a place for the essential craftsman. And use liquid dish soap and water. And always use extra in line ball values, and threaded unions. Dnt mix the up. There built as true matches to avoid leaks
Thanks for the shop tour, I love seeing how you have it set up. Frost free hydrants are the best, they are a great way to get water when it is cold here in Montana! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with an anvil problem. My Great Grandpa ran a fresno for side money for the railroad when it came through but he always called it a slip. Thanks for the video!
Wow now that’s a few notches above a man cave sir. You truly are blessed to have such i nice shop space! I’m sure it didn’t exactly start that way either but that’s what makes it fun
You’ve got a lot of old friends in that barn !! Every time I go in my shop, most of my time is spent looking for something that I could of found in 30 seconds and now it takes a good hour. My projects and gumption have to find me in a willing mood.
I have a 1500 square foot wood shop. At a cabinet shop auction I bought a 5’ x5’ off-bearing table for my Delta Unisaw. The part facing the saw has about 6’ 10 degree slope. I also use it for assembly. It’s used a lot!!
I'll be visiting Roseburg in a few weeks for work. I'm from WV and have never been to Oregon. Can't wait to take in the scenery and will be looking at the homes in the area with the thought that maybe you've worked on them and left your legacy. Amazing shop and hope for a 1/4 of the setup you have someday.
You are such an inspiration to me! Besides the fact that I learn something every time, I watch one of your videos. Keep up the good work indeed! Cheers
Concerning the outside faucet/hydrant do not leave the hose connected to the hydrant. If the hose if left connected then the water does not siphon back properly and can cause the water in the hydrant to freeze.
This is a great video to arrive home and see. Enjoyed catching a glimpse of the decades of tool accumulation. You can always go in more detail about one area or another and we wont be sad about it. Keep preaching to us Brother Wadsworth. Thank you kindly! Cheers from KY
Mr.W, I have a small shop at my house, everyone ask how much stuff can I pack in that space, and what do I need that for, they understand when they ask if I have one...................................I do !!........................... thanks for sharing !!
Is that a Blaze King wood stove? I grew up in the wilds of south east Alaska, and I learned the art of wood stove heat. As much as I try to be good steward of the resources available to me, there is just something comforting about a wood stove. Waking early in the morning to a cool house, tossing in fresh firewood, opening the draft and damper, and hearing the fire stir to life... God knows I miss it...
Love your channel. Lived in Salem for 20 years, now live in Texas. Have a off grid cabin in eastern Oregon. If you would like to come for a visit next summer let me know.
When u see a shop like this you know somebody around there knows a thing or two. Love that old fly press. This shop is like going to candy store for craftsmen.
I have seen people check for gas leaks with a propane tortch, like the little nozzle you screw on to a propane bottle. Keeps your hands a bit farther from the fire then a match or lighter. Love your channel and am intensly jellous of your shop!
A ripper tooth for any machine, but particularly a mini excavator is one of the best attachments you can have. From stumps to rotten rock, it’s handy as a pocket on a shirt.
2:16- Yes, it does matter if file cabinet drawers get closed or not. Very easy to tip a file cabinet over by pulling out multiple drawers... IF the cabinet isn't bolted to the wall behind it... 🙂
Not binding suggestion: place a key plan on a corner of the video marking the area being shown. Great shop Scott! Are you considering standing seam metal roofing?
It is awesome! Your “ ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS-P9OAq3v4HNpPFqYFWNEq9A-E_PbZIN ” is a complete guide that highlights how I can easily build a beautiful shed from scratch. The writer of the SHED PLANS has given detailed blueprints and step by step instructions that even a beginner can follow without any trouble.
I'm really curious to see how you end up setting up the woodworking part of the shop during your bench build and after. I assume you'll primarily use the bench's built in storage for the woodworking tools? Tool organization is my favorite thing to steal ideas from 🙂
Something I have noticed watching your videos is that your most important feeling or emotion is Thankfulness. I wish there was more of that in the world.
Too many parents trying to give their kids the world they don't create unlike the man above who understand life is a blessing.

Scott is the kind of man every young boy should aspire to be like.
Same here, I want to be more like that too. ❤
He is definitely a product of his environment and of the highest magnitude.
Mr. Wadsworth, thank you for all you do. Going through your shop brings back great memories of my grandpa’s shop.
Roof leaks are a bummer. I would offer my labor for free to help you re-roof your shop. Look me up when you’re ready, I mean it!
It was truly an honor to be able to tour your shop in person, and believe me guys the videos do not do it justice!
Thank you again Mr. Wadsworth

you can run infrared heaters off LNG as well I believe
I bought a little ceraminc IR heater for my wood shop (18 x 14) and it keeps it plenty warm through our west coast Canadian winter.
Fun to see. A real working shop, not just a pretty place that does little work.
Thank you again Scott for the personal tour you gave to Rita and I. This is a wonderful trip down your memory lane. Please keep up the good work.
You are appreciated not just for your extensive knowledge but for being an extrodinary man. Thank You
And a nice man, at that!
Basically a working man's museum. So amazing.
Been following you for years. Scott is wise, humble and very very grateful in life. I love seeing my sticker on his file cabinet.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
All the best to you and your crew for 2024!!
There are few men I admire in this world. This is one of them. Respect!

That's a shop a bloke could live in!👍

One of the best videos made by the wood stove, was the music episode with Scott playing his trombone!
Incredible shop! Thank you for sharing
This channel gives me the old warmth feeling of good ole American knowhow and hard work, much of what is missing from today.
You could send your kid to college for four years or have them spend two days with this guy. Love this channel.
Your videos have helped me in a number of ways and I love the shop!
This is a workshop, there is a lot tool colectors that use tools just for decoration, This is real deal
Finally got the Smith shop built. Son and I will be tuning into the academy soon. Thanks for everything you do
Salt of the Earth. Like my Grandfather. I admire you, Sir...... and I won't mention the great pipes you have should "making" ever fail, you have the Radio voice for days. Happy New Year.
Glad that someone else has a bit of chaos in the shop too. 😂
Love shop and all the neat things hanging. Very cool. Thanks for the tour
I vote to have Phil do the gas lines. Now that is quality entertainment
Thanks for the tour
You're a legend and a pleasure to watch. We're lucky to have you.
AMAZING! Hopefully that will stay in the family for hundreds of years! 🇺🇲

7:18 Coleman lanterns! I love those things. I collect them and tinker with them. One of my favorite hobbies at the moment.
Best workshop for one of the best craftsman you are simply a legend God bless you and happy new your to all of your family, friends and followers
Have watched every edition of shop tour so far. Love these!
So cool to see the progress in the shop. Can’t wait to see that post drill up and running again!
What a great and spacious shop. All stationed off into designated work areas and full of all of those collected, inherited, ‘procured’ old tools from over the years. Would love to putter around in there for a few days.
First thing I noticed is shop is clean and organized. It’s a good feeling
What a awesome shop. It's truly a place for the essential craftsman. And use liquid dish soap and water. And always use extra in line ball values, and threaded unions. Dnt mix the up. There built as true matches to avoid leaks
I’m always amazed and impressed at what you do and with your down-to-earth presentation of it.

Blessings in 2024
Soapy water is the best way to check for gas leaks along with a good ol’ pressure test.
Concerning the outside faucet/hydrant do not leave the hose connected to the hydrant. If the hose if left connected then the water does not siphon back properly and can cause the water in the hydrant to freeze.
Love the shop..sings to my own sensibilities
Love the shop ! Happy New Year to you and your family, and Thank you for all you do my friend.

Thank you. Your channel is solid gold.
So many different types of tools wielded by hand, that’s pretty interesting place
Great video! Something you may have already spoke on.. That is our legacy.
Mr.W, I have a small shop at my house, everyone ask how much stuff can I pack in that space, and what do I need that for,

Thanks for the tour brothers😎 I love your videos. Thank you
A barn full of treasures👍
Cool! Nice to see the shop layout. Thanks guys
Love it! Reminds me of my grandfathers shop, and my fathers shop
Nothing like a good shop!

Any mans dream shop for sure!
Thank you for the suggestion on how to check for gas leaks.
What an awesome shop! Almost the dream shop that I’ll never have.
Love that sign framed with diamond plate on your shop door.
Great video update
Happy New Years to you and your family
God bless

Great tool and workshop tour.
Thanks for the walk through of your shop.
What a wonderful, creative space. I so enjoy your work and letting us ride along and see what you do. Thank you! :)
Wow! Love it!
Love your channel. Lived in Salem for 20 years, now live in Texas. Have a off grid cabin in eastern Oregon. If you would like to come for a visit next summer let me know.
Fantastic shop with lots of thought on layout. Looks like you could use a slightly taller smokestack outside though. 😊
What a fantastic work shop my dad was a Blacksmith in his youth!Your videos & postive energy make watching a pleasure!
Happy New Year to you all. I believe my organized chaos skills are nearly as good as yours. I have a long way to go to match the rest.
When u see a shop like this you know somebody around there knows a thing or two. Love that old fly press. This shop is like going to candy store for craftsmen.

Looks like cracker barrel in there! I love it.
I wish I had shop
That size.
Thank you for the tour, Scott.New Year to you and yours, from ours.
Thanks for the tour to your shop. I got some good ideas out of the settings. Happy new year to you and your family.
Holy grail of shops good work
A ripper tooth for any machine, but particularly a mini excavator is one of the best attachments you can have. From stumps to rotten rock, it’s handy as a pocket on a shirt.
I recall that drip in background. You gotta fix that! Nothing is worse than having a leaking roof over such a valuable shop.
The post drill is awesome

And my wife inafraid of cleaning out my shop when I'm gone! It's 1/8 the size of yours.
What a great man cave!
ROTOPhasers are old school.. there are black box synthesizers. A 10 hp one is 5lbs. and about 8 X 10 inches.
Nice i drilled the well for owner of saw stop. deep deep well. nice guy. looks good around there, perfect man cave. Hope sy doing well.
That shop is beautiful. You don’t need any more cleaner long as you know where everything’s at. What does it need anymore for?
I'm really curious to see how you end up setting up the woodworking part of the shop during your bench build and after. I assume you'll primarily use the bench's built in storage for the woodworking tools?

Nice collection of lanterns.
I'm a sucker for a shop tour. did not dissapoint!
