- Recently we've been making our way through the RoboCop film series and it got us thinking. Robots? And the response to that is this tier list where we rank some of the most popular movie/tv robots and cyborgs of all time. This includes The Terminator, Bishop, Chappie, Optimus Prime, The Iron Giant, M3gan, David, Data, Robin Williams robot and more. The rules are thus 1) They have to have a body 2) Whatever else we think of on the fly. Thanks for watching!

Can't believe they forgot the robot from Real Steel, another robot that beat up Hugh Jackman
It goes without saying that a fighting robot that also does little Tok Tok dances is S tier material.
My anger knows no bounds for them not including that one.
Especially since he was shown to be sentient in one scene

I love how most of the classics are ranked fairly and treated w respect and care, & then some are just immediately dismissed and dashed straight to the bottom of the list and James has to convince Mason to raise it 💀

The fact that Bender isn't a very quick and undisputed S-Tier has me questioning every video you guys have ever made. Who even am I anymore, how could I be so wrong about you two?
Any other transgressions that may have occurred in this video are immediately absolved by correctly ranking Data as S tier. What a fantastic character.

You blokes needed to do Marvin from the books and radio dramas. S tier for sure. Book Marvin lived at least 3 times the life of the entire universe. He watched planets evolve and die. He spent millions of years with a leg stuck in a pit and he just kept going around in circles. His depression ended civilizations and saved the gang's life at least twice.

@@baz1184 Marvin the Paranoid Android is from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was the round droid with green eyes, voiced by Alan Rickman. It was the robot they joked about being depressed

I love that of all the options from Doctor Who to be on this Robot tier list, they picked the squids in mini-tanks instead of the AI-controlled metal zombie soldiers.
R2D2 aint no snitch. He saw all the shit and did not say a word. He is an S tier robot, 147% Ride or Die
This would be like if a member of your own gang saw someone betray the gang and never said anything. I think that's the opposite of snitching, that'd just be loyalty
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep R2 was not in the "Jedi Gang" those bleeps did not let him have a lightsaber. He was in Disaster lineage gang and he tried to talk to Obiwan but he lied and said he didn’t know R2. What was he supposed to do?
I understand that Optimus at F tier is simply a joke meant to entice angry feelings on purpose for comedic ends, but I WILL take putting Eva above Bender and R2 as a mean spirited, direct personal offense aimed specifically at me.
We need more tier lists. I’d love to see some about super hero movies, or heroes in general, maybe comic books runs for certain heroes, etc.

I really enjoy the mix of chaotic placing based on Maso's smallest whims and James genuinely taking this vaguely seriously. Hope to see the boys do more tier rankings in future
I hoped Robby the robot from Forbidden Planet would make the list. Still one of my absolute favorites.
He's awesome. The whole movie is gold.

I was surprised about omitting Robby. He was the inspiration for Lost in Space Robot, plus made guest appearances on so many other shows!
I can only conclude that Vici from Small Wonder and that robot from Tomorrowland are getting their own video.
Strange suggestion, probably not popular enough.....the war robot from Judge Dredd (yes, the Stallone one). I think that design is awesome.

Frank Drebin is S-Tier for sure
Commissioner Gordon, Martin Brody, Riggs and/or Murtaugh, Harry Callahan, John McClane, Magnum, Nicholas Angel, Mills and/or Somerset, Paul Blart, Kindergarten Cop, Wiggum, the cops from Futurama, Liam Neeson in the LEGO Movie. Certainly lots to discuss.
That would be a boring tier list, because All Cops Are B.

Fun fact about the Daleks. In one 1965 episode there's a joke about a dalek with a stutter. Same serial, a bunch get beaten up by anamatronic Dracula. They've been a joke since their 3rd ever story don't worry it's not a new develoment
Honestly? They're even kind of a joke in The Daleks as well. They need to maintain contact with the special floor to move around so the heroes put down a blanket and push the Dalek onto it and it shuts down, killing the creature

If we're inserting an Alan Tudyk Robot/Android onto this list, I'd Ratner it were K-2SO. He's immediately endearing and iconic. Like Mason, I barely remember anything about I, Robot other that Will Smith fighting equally with a truck full of robots because his arm is metal, which ironically, is metal as Hell.
Also, I kind of love the Robot Maria scenes in METROPOLIS, where Brigitte Helm (the actress) is just going for it, being batshit as Hell.
Yes Data S tier. One of my favourite characters from anything ever.

The fact that R2-D2 is ranked anywhere other than S is just bizarre. I know this list is tongue-in-cheek, but R2 is one of the most iconic film characters of all time, and not just among robots.
I've enjoyed the tiny snippets of Doctor Who we've got from the editor So I got very excited when I saw the Dalek in the list of "Robots." But yes, I am mad about where they placed them.
I'm so happy Paulie's robot from Rocky IV was on this list!
14:52 born 1996 and Short Circuit is one of my favourite and most remembered/loved movies from my childhood! For years I would say to people what’s that movie with the skinny robot on mini tank tread wheels who has flappy eyebrows, and I would just get no reply or gone out looks 😂

Anyone remember the remote controlled Major Glory that was on the Dexters Lab episode. He made about 3 that did loads of mad things. I always wanted a toy like that, or a Small Soldier.

I usually agree with you guys on just about everything, but you are way off about B9, the original ‘Lost in Space’ robot. He’s iconic for people of a certain age. “Danger, danger Will Robinson!”, the flashing red light when he talked, the flailing arms, the bubble ‘head’. Easily, an A for those of us who grew up in the late 60’s/70’s.
The lost in space robot is technically called Robot B-9. Or in one episode, Golden Boy. Anyway, that’s why Star Trek had to change Data’s brother from B9 to B4.
You said only one robot from a franchise but both I, Robot and Bicentennial Man are Asimov stories.

The Asimov Cinematic Universe.
Technically, the I, Robot movie was an original story unrelated to Asimov's book, but then the studio had the rights to I, Robot so they slapped it on there for brand recognition and made some minor changes like the inclusion of Susan Calvin and the rules of robotics (which are pretty much thrown out the window by the end of the movie).
So while the books belong to the same extended universe, the movies do not.
I want more tier lists. Like, anything and everything! Actors, actresses, dogs, sfx … *everything!!!*
This show is more self-aware than many of the robots you ranked.

Fun Fact that The Iron Giant's moveset in Multiversus (the weird WB fighting game) is mostly accidental fighting, to stay in line with his original characterisation and keep him gentle and clumsy

The robot from Lost In Space is Robby, and HE IS AN ICON. He was THE 1950s robot. They called him the hardest working robot in Hollywood! And he was in Gremlins!
Robby was from Forbidden Planet. B9 was from Lost in Space.

"Robby the Robot appeared in two episodes of the TV series Lost in Space. In the episode titled “War of the Robots”, Will finds and repairs Robby. In the episode titled “Condemned of Space”, Robby is a guard on a prison ship with a freezing gun"
