Sue telling her children that school was useless while she’s been on government benefits for decades was probably the least self-aware statement I’ve ever heard. I feel so bad for her children, because unless someone else mentors them, they’ll end up exactly like her.
In Britain "benefits," for who, is generational. Those who have a job pay for those who don't have one. No requirements you are to get training, learn skills, work in government work projects, to give people a sense of achievement and learning, before they get support (money). How the Nation has lasted this long is unimaginable. All rich countries have failed to solve poverty in their own country but Britain really out does all the others. These people are capable of contributing to their country but contribute nothing because the government only throws money at the problem not a solution.

Hi Nicole... Many years ago....1960 I think...my family and I (Very Royal!) emigrated to Australia... I was 7-ish..I guess, I loved it there... But we were very poor initially......there was not the job my Dad was promised...and we struggled for the first year. We lived in a garage that my Dad floor boarded out to make a living space.... but we made do...and we were happy. Our neighbours were great, and, as kids, we loved it. It would never have occurred to my parents to ask for State Help or benefits...they came to Australia to help Oz grow. It seems to me that that far too many simply believe that the State is the sole provider... of all things....This is unsustainable. As the UK is now realising, far too late. As thousands arrive one their shores ... the rejections of France and Europe. There will be detractors to my comments.... Well, I give you the classic two fingers. Not the Churchill man of Victory signal....quite the reverse. Take it or leave it.
Seriously, telling her daughter she doesn’t need and education or “anything she learns in school” while sitting in her pyjamas, skint and jobless is the single most hypocritical thing i’ve ever witnessed! Doesn’t she realise that had she got an education, used what she learned to get a good job, she wouldn’t be in dire straits now?! “I use my phone to add up” she commented…Give me feckin’ strength! 🙄😬🙏🏼 Edit: If she’s “got all the claire’s” whatever that’s supposed to mean, couldn’t she predict the lotto and start paying her own way in society?
When she gave that reading to that girl, she says the same dribble that most clairvoyants do, "oh, you'll be successful in anything you do" lol, doesn't actually predict the person's future.
Even the little girl told her mother that "She could quit smoking." And the mother said that's something "She didn't want to do right now." Pure selfishness and ignorance that keeps the cycle of poverty going on and on. It's a choice.
@@spikefivefivefive I really felt bad for that child in that moment. You could see the dawning realization on her that her mother was selfish and lazy. Poor kid was much too young to be realizing that her mother was human after all.
The best thing that YOU as a parent can give your kids is their independence. To do that, you have to encourage them to use manners (especially at the dinner table), stand tall, be proud and get an education. Teach them some common sense and respect. Plenty of people have done it in the past under much more extreme circumstances. History does repeat OVER and OVER but unfortunately, in a lot of families, instead of ensuring that your next generation is a bit better off, the parents are the children and making their youngsters life a misery.
‘You can stop smoking’ ‘I’m not in the right place’ - your daughter is sat inside with all her winter clothes on. The time is now. I grew up with a single parent on benefits & experienced a lot of the same things these children did. I thought that was my future too but I didn’t want it to be. I left school at 16 & have worked ever since. I went to uni at 32 & got my degree at 38. My kids don’t know poverty & I hope they never do.
I stayed in a 1 bedroom with my 3 children after my divorce in KY in 1980. It was a shack. A 3 room shack. No water no bathroom(outhouse) heated with wood and coal. It was primitive. There are people still living like that in eastern KY. I finally found a. 2 bedroom with at least water. Cold but inside water. Still an outhouse. I met a man and we married. I sent him to school and supported him while he went. He raised my children and we had 2 of our own. We are now divorced after our children were grown. His children weren't raised that way. We moved to Georgia shortly after our son was born and we're married 30 years. I stayed single and he remarried. He's now raising our granddaughter. Life 7s tough.

Not all single parents are on "benefits". As a single parent, I worked full-time and often, also with 2nd jobs. My child grew up to become an educated professional with his own family. Yes, hard but not impossible. Need to be willing to work hard and be organised. 👍🇦🇺

Why shouldn't he get a pat on the back, just because no one chose to comment on the women doesn't mean he doesnt deserves one, when there are so many drop kick Dads out there it is nice to see one that isn't.
I don’t understand all these single parents collecting benefits to look after children? In Sweden, we have subsidised daycare, and everybody works. There are lots of single parents and they manage just fine! My parents both worked and it was all fine…
Single moms are praised all the time, why can't you do the same thing with a single dad? If anyone made that comment about a single mother, they would surely be accused of sexism.
This third one stays at home even though her youngest is 8 and still her place is a freaking landfill! There are legitimate reasons for people to be on benefits but none of them are in this video
The job center said that they needed a paper from the recruiter. If she didnt go and get the paper then its her fault. The council said they woulf pay with the proper paperwork.
Social Welfare, or whatever they're called in the UK, should assist that poor lady to get that cyst by her left eye to be fixed. Seems sad that they can't work that out.
Yeah I noticed that. My sister had a similar cyst right on top of her eyelid when she was in her teens it was really big. Mum took her to the hospital and they removed it, she only had to stay in hopital for a day or two. She was very self conscious of it plus I think it may have effected her eyesight as she got older. When they took it out they found it was a ball of skin and hair which they said over time may have increased in size. It really was a minor surgery, the scar can't be seen as they made the cut, right on the crease at the top of her eyelid. No ongoing issues.👍
There’s lots of reasons someone might end up with government benefits. A teenager might have been told that having a baby will change the rest of their life but they are young and have no experience with ‘lifetime consequences’ like us older people. They are going to end up in situations that are not advantageous for their young age. Aside from youthful mistakes, there are situations such as job loss, illness, mental illness, one mate having an alcohol or drug addiction, one mate or someone having severe PTSD from military experiences or trauma, natural disasters, marriage breakup, severe accidents, death of a mate, lack of jobs, lack of being able to get more education. All these things contribute to needing benefits. It’s unfair to lump the truly needy in with those who just don’t want to be self sufficient. Being in poverty is hard, people judge you, think you are uneducated, judge that someone is lazy, etc etc. From having lived in poverty in my youth I learned a lot: How to not waste food. I lived with the empty fridge and learned at an early age that the milk needed to be saved for my little sister. (My dad was mentally unable to cope from several tours in Korea. He was an MIA dad. ) poverty taught me that if I didn’t have clothes, I could make my own or reconstruct clothes. I learned it’s better to buy a quality product that lasts for years instead of rebuying cheap stuff. I learned that I could save money by styling my own hair, making my own jewelry, creating my own art. I save money because I don’t need or want every new fancy super fragranced cleaning product, or every new cosmetic, or idiotic style created to take my money. It’s sad that junk food is so inexpensive but healthy vegetables etc are priced for only the wealthy.
Why are they all smokers? They find money for cigarettes, but can’t afford anything else. She could have had the 40 dollars easily, if she wasn’t paying for cigarettes. Priorities people, priorities.

its so easy to judge but these type of shows make me really reflect on how many variables are in human nature
This upsets me, I grew up in a family with 5 kids and my mum was on benefits. It’s very scary and worrying all the time and it has an affect on all the children involved. Mentally and the impact it has on kids with going to school suffering from depression, being worried about what your mums going through and being bullied because of how you are dressed etc 😢
Seriously, Lauren's mom can't help her out with the $40 for a medical certificate? Sell something, find a way.
I know...right? Or save a few dollars a week till you have the money.
I thought exactly the same thing.
Or get a job. Sorry, silly suggestion.
Because what she wants is not a job but an excuse.
After the first hundred times they ask for just £40, you get sick of it
I’m binge watching these videos and also our Australian version called struggle street
@Ayan563 no worries
Yet- there’s always money for cigarettes…
Seriously, telling her daughter she doesn’t need and education or “anything she learns in school” while sitting in her pyjamas, skint and jobless is the single most hypocritical thing i’ve ever witnessed! Doesn’t she realise that had she got an education, used what she learned to get a good job, she wouldn’t be in dire straits now?! “I use my phone to add up” she commented…Give me feckin’ strength! 🙄😬🙏🏼
Edit: If she’s “got all the claire’s” whatever that’s supposed to mean, couldn’t she predict the lotto and start paying her own way in society?
When she gave that reading to that girl, she says the same dribble that most clairvoyants do, "oh, you'll be successful in anything you do" lol, doesn't actually predict the person's future.
5:15 her friend says "she need' a fella". Single mom of 5 kids...Not someone you want to take advice from, seriously.
Love how they all smoke but say they can't afford food for their kids that they'll "do anything for"
or 40 pounds for medical to join the army haha. What's that? Like 4 packets
Even the little girl told her mother that "She could quit smoking."
And the mother said that's something "She didn't want to do right now."
Pure selfishness and ignorance that keeps the cycle of poverty going on and on.
It's a choice.
@@spikefivefivefive I really felt bad for that child in that moment. You could see the dawning realization on her that her mother was selfish and lazy. Poor kid was much too young to be realizing that her mother was human after all.
I have never seen so many women smoking. 😮
@@CornbreadOracle Well said! They chose their life....... but those that fund it.... do not get a choice!
I don't think Sue's clairvoyance could predict the sunrise.

The cyst wouldn't be a big issue if she has it dealt with sooner than later.
The UK has free healthcare so I assume she just hasn’t bothered getting it fixed
Yet all these people smoke and drink
