I find it really funny when people see what engineers and scientists do up close and are like "dark magic demon wizard !!!". it's super validating when you spend all day flipping through spreadsheets and doing semi-boaring math and then get a big reaction from the finished product or prototype. I remember I built an arm that could flex it's hand whenever someone concentrated hard in highschool with some cheap EEG parts from a starwars toy and some motors and people freaked their shit
