I’m Uncle Jim’s brother Greg. He was my older brother who always made me proud. Yes, he loved that car & what JR Garage has done brings tears to my eyes! What a tribute! His memory lives on for his family & for all of The JRGarage family who have been part of the relationship thru the Torino Project! They really out did them selves on this one! The reveal was awesome as that beauty made its way up the road to the house he built. That paint glistening in the sun, those new wheels & tires taking it over the top! The reveal made Jim’s memorial something really special! Jeffery was right when he said you could feel Jim’s presence! I’m proud of you JR Garage! Love it when you two call me Uncle Greg!
Thanks for dropping in Uncle Greg! Thanks for always supporting the UA-cam videos, encouraging us to chase our big goals, and letting us sleep on your couch when we were up there filming :) We had such an amazing day sharing the car with everyone and turning an unfortunate situation into something we could all smile about. The Torino looks new, and we're happy you got to see the transformation in person. See you again soon!!!
Not gonna lie, when one of the family members said “Jim’s Home” when the car rolled up the driveway, I lost it. Leave the motor alone, the more you customize the car the less of Uncle Jim there is. Let it be the car he loved.
Steve of The Rusty Fender really put his best foot forward on this project. It was as tho Uncle Jim was a close friend! I know he wanted to give it his best because what a cool thing for JRGarage & all those who donated parts & paint to help this be the success it was! I’m so proud of the boys & I wear my JRGarage hoody with so much pride!
Jim hired me to do the initial work on his Torino and I just now learned of his passing while watching these videos. I really enjoyed visiting with Jim as I began this restoration. I'm so happy to see this beautiful car come together. Awesome 👌 job on paint & reassembly Steve!
You guys picked the right guy for the job you can tell he poured his heart & soul into restoring the Torino looks sweet great tire and wheel choice 😀 Very heartwarming video definitely choked me up watching your family gather in memory of your uncle.
The lambos are cool but this classic ford is an AMAZING WORK OF ART!!! I grew up around cars like this which is what got me hooked on cars. There is something about driving a classic that will always stick with you. Your uncle had to be one very cool guy to love and cherish this car until the end. I have personally gained respect for you for making his dream come true. Much much props.
I bought a 72 Gran Torino sport with a 351cj and 4 speed with money left to me by my mother in 1998. It was rotted out, but the motor was a beast for an 18 year old. I bought another in 02, swapped motor transmission, gauges and hood. It’s slowly dying in my driveway due to lack of funds. But it means so much to me, I’ll never let it go. It’s a beautiful car and fun cruiser. So glad to see what it could be and this one being saved. Great job!
it always amuses me - its just a car - but like so many who follow a good project like this - finally the reveal - i'm blown away - steve shows just what a car of this standing needs, its not just restoration its so much more - i'm sure you boyz and the family will get a few shivers from ya Uncle Jim - bless
I have a 72 Gran Torino that I bought back in 2013 to restore with my pops, but after some tranny issues she’s just been in the garage for some years. Y’all videos have inspired me to get back in there and bring her back to life. Rip uncle Jim.
Omg. The car has turned out to be a work of art. Uncle Jim would be so proud for what you guys have done. It's great to see the car will stay with the family forever
congratulations, you made a 45 year old man 5000 miles away (scotland), who never met you, or uncle jim, or the car... leak a little eye fluid, watched from the start and i'm proud of you, so i can only imagine how his family feel. and you saved a classic from the scrapheap into the bargain. kudos.
Jeffery, you and Christian are fantastic young people. You are a true inspiration to all young folks today. Keep on being the super great inspirational guys you are. You make America proud.
The new Wheels make the black grill really go together. Great job on the car. These tribute cars are extra special and I'm sure your uncle is looking down and beaming with pride
Currently restoring my late father's 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, this video series is exactly what I'm going though at the moment. It sat in our garage for 26+ years and now is getting painted. Can't wait to drive it in few months time and enjoy it as much as he did. Great video guys ❤️.
as a human being .. memories are the only thing we keep it with us forever ❤️ .. the guy who made this possible have put his heart 💔 and soul in this car .. when he unrap the front no plate his heart fill with warmth and eyes with water and voice become heavy .. love u Jr garage family ❤️ ..
I had always wanted to find my dad's 1969 Torino GT fastback and buy it back for him. It was royal maroon with the gold c-stripe. 351/FMX with red vinyl bench seat. He was my absolute hero, and I know how much he loved the car. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019 after a nearly year-long battle with an extremely rare form of sarcoma. This year, I found the car and I bought it back. It's currently undergoing media blasting and we are about to start body work. You guys did an amazing job with this project, and I wish you all the best in the future.
Definitely rebuild the motor. The car deserves it and also upgrade the suspension. Nothing too crazy but new upgraded parts on a classic is always a plus. Uncle Jim would definitely be proud!
Beautiful job! As for future modes, I say think of your Uncle Jim; what would he want in his car? I'm willing to bet money, that he would want you to do nothing more to it. It really is perfect! 🏆! And Steve? I applaud you! 👏👏👏👏👏 👑! 🐰
I love the paint. The wheels look dope on that car. The car came out absolutely amazing. And I believe that your Uncle Jim is looking down at youse smiling. Happy that y'all brought his baby back from the grave. I hope to see it in more videos. And may your Uncle Jim rest in peace next to our lord and fathers side Amen.
This shape....this car is so beautiful. American art. Stunning. Great job. Do the suspension motor maybe the interior - because this will never be back. We need videos like this in these dark times. Made my day as I think this is such an iconic car and takes me back to happier times. Uncle Jim and I are close in age and I know he would be so happy to see it come back. Please do more on this all time favourite show.
Uncle Jim will never forget that you rebuilded his Torino! Whenever you and the entire family will be talking together, they will always remember and say that they appreciate you guys for rebuilding the Torino! You boys deserve love and respect! Uncle Jim is smiling from there to you guys!
Man I would love to have one of these again. My first car was a red 72 Gran Torino with vinyl top. Engine locked up on me in 89 and I left it at my dad’s after I got married. He had it picked up and crushed after a year of sitting up on blocks. : (. This was a great video. Brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting.
Great job guys, your Uncle would have been really surprised. I had a '76 in red with a white stripe that was added before I owned it. I drove it until the engine (351 W) finally died and I was working on installing a 302 BOSS when I joined the Air Force after High School. My parents sold it to clean up their yard and the kids that bought it totaled it a few months later. I miss that car, it was the first one I bought with my own money when I was in school. The 302 BOSS I bought from a friend and we spent the night in a parts store with one of the employees completely rebuilding it. I loved the car and wish I still had it from time to time, but now I have a new project in the form of a '79 F250 Ranger that will eventually become my business/work truck.
I saw the slotted mags after you spoke about the wheels and my heart sank a little. When you revealed the magnum 500s that was exactly what I was thinking. Good choice👍
When I was a kid back in 1972 I seen these and several other ones on the road. The 72 had a classic design and only the 2 door coupes had that distinctive grill and light set-up. You folks did great on the restoration.
Great u were able to restore yr uncles car. Torino was a very special car. I had a 73 Montego, sister to the Torino, bought new and special to me. Very touching story and video.
Well done you brilliant young men you have certainly made your uncle Jim so proud and by the way he was always there when you were doing that project believe me so well done
It's a big yes for the updated wheels and tires. Somewhere down the road, on this style of body you can use 17 inch wheels and tires and it will still look vintage but better. For engine mods: a Holly fuel injection system with the associated electronics, a mild cam upgrade, some long tube headers, a K&N cold air setup, etc.
To the people who say it’s just a car it’s not it’s a legacy it’s a cherished memory and it’s a way to feel closer to your loved ones you guys did an amazing thing… this hit home so hard
Drop a like for Uncle Jim👍 I think we did him proud!
This makes me really emotional. Great work guys Uncle Jim would be proud.
I like the 5 slots

Damn, I almost started crying at "Jim's home" when the car pulled up. Great video and outstanding restoration.
