Can’t believe how much Dakar has changed since we were there in 2008. It was much quieter, sleepy place back then! We loved the amazing flowers at the market and hiring a scooter and exploring on our own. Good to hear the trip from Nha Trang in 3 hours now! We hired two guys and their scooters and rode up the mountain with the guys as our guide.
I'm sure it has , We were in Vietnam in 2016 and wow it has changed , Rise of the middle class and more money. Which is great to see, Dalat for us was the highlight of the trip, Cooler climate and very relaxed compared to other areas of Vietnam. We loved it Thanks for feedback.
Thanks alot, We flew from Oz. We went from Gold Coast To Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) then onto Hanoi from KL all with Air Asia. Air Asia only flys out of Gold Coast not Brisbane, We do now have Vietjet fly from Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) direct now, Both low cost airlines. Matt loves low cost airlines , Matt always tells me do you remember the flight or do you remember the holiday. I think we paid about $450 return with air asia . Otherwise we have to either go Via Singapore or KL (Malaysia) Thanks for feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures Brilliant, I would assume there are also flights out of Sydney? We're on the Sunshine Coast so we tend to now fly from Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast Airport) which is just down the road and fly to Sydney, then on from there as it works out reasonably priced, opposed to driving down to Brisbane and storing the car or staying overnight etc. What is accommodation like ie, prices etc?
In Vietnam you mean? I'm sure you have options out of Sydney. Brisbane just starting to get more direct flights to Asia. Thats why we do Bali often due to the direct flight and ease of getting there, especially when we still work full time.
@pmc8119 budget $20 aud a night mid range $40 to $50 top range for us anyway, $ 70 to $100 aud a night for 4 to 5 star. Great value , We love Bali but prices have risen alot , Vietnam is great value and not over tourist. Hope this helps. Our ninh binh video has a great homestay for about $45 a night, unbelievable, was unreal. Hope this helps, Dong hoi video we stayed at melia 5 star with brekky for about $75 a night.
Great video, thank you, it gives me some idea about things to do around there. What type of transportation did you take from airport to hotel? what type of transportation did you use to go places? Thank you
We came up from Nha Trang via private driver, Would recommend Grab app to get around. We just used a driver from our hotel org for us, He took us around for the day, Im sure you can hire for like 4hrs or 8hrs. But Grab is best in Vietnam to get around. Recommend to check our food videos on Dalat could be of help too. Hope this helps
Enjoying best of both worlds , Bali 1 day Vietnam the next, We would recommend Vietnam, With some of our tips you would have a great experience like us, We loved it, Sadly back home now and back at that dreaded work haha. Feels like Bali was 20 years ago , still not over tourist and such a great place to visit. Your money goes along way in Vietnam and other than tourist spots popular with visitors would recommend Ninh Binh for a few R&R and Dalat, Highlights of our trip for us. Have a great time in Bali , Be sure to let us know if you think you found something we should know. Thanks for feedback.
Thank you, It's a big world and not enough time to travel, That dreaded word for us work stop us. Enjoy watching you around Bogor and Malaysia is lovely, I'm sure we will have some videos on Malaysia eventually. Thanks for feedback.

Great video Bec & Matt. It looks very neat and tidy and traffic alot more organised chaos than Bali! Did you fly to Vietnam from Bali or Australia?

@@BecMattAdventures yes, in Vietnam. The food and transportation seems a good price so I'm assuming accommodation is reasonable too?

There is an old Vietnamese saying
"Đà Lạt là nơi tuyệt vời." which translates to
"Dalat is where it's at"
:)
We rated it highly, Would go back to Dalat.
It's where it at for sure.
Thanks for feedback.
I see people wearing jackets. Is it not hot there?
Not hot, quiet cool, your 1500m in elevation in the mountains, one of the cooler parts of Vietnam, we loved it.
Thanks for feedback
@@BecMattAdventures I've seen some clips on media Vieatnam flooding and building damage from wind. Was Dalat not effec from the that?
@greengreensio no not affected, being so high up be no low lying water. Rivers start up there and finish on the low area at the coast.
