we are going to be sailing on EPIC on September 04. 2024 for 10 days Mediterranean from Rome to Rome. I was worried because of all the negative reviews on this ship but i will not let it ruin my trip. I am just going to enjoy it. I am sure all ships has both negative and positive reviews. Can't please everyone. I was on Royal Princess to Alaska past summer and loved the ship. Royal Princess is a gorgeous ship.
Sounds great! The Epic is definitely an odd ship, but I wouldn't call it bad. NCL usually does a pretty good job with food, excursions, etc. and the destinations in the Med are great too. There are definitely worse cruise experiences you can have!
Your review seemed very fair and not far off the mark which is very helpful and appreciated. We have read "Karen Reviews" which nitpicks everything and seems totally unfair. THANK YOU!
Nicely done video and review. We booked a transatlantic/repositioning cruise from Florida to Rome sailing in April. We are staying 2 addititonal days in Rome. The price of this cruise was very economical. We will purchase the thermal spa package for some very relaxing downtime. Even with the odd cabin design, I think we will enjoy the cruise.
Certainly had and issue with the see through toilet that leaves nothing to the imagination. You better make sure you know your travel companion extremely well as you will be sharing lots!😂😂
This is such a weird ship, but you can’t get an itinerary better than the Italy/Greece one. I’m going on the Epic in July 2025 (apparently after they do some refurbishments starting in April). 11 days, 10 ports. I’m traveling with friends, not a significant other, so the bathroom design is going to be weird but I guess it would be nice to be able to use the toilet and sink when the other person is showering.
We are getting ready to go on the epic with a balcony. The bathroom area seems quite weird. But, we live in a one bathroom house so having a separate toilet to the shower may work better for us.
Yes! The bathroom was definitely functional, and it is nice to have separation between the toilet and shower like you get on many other ships as well. It was very odd to walk in the cabin door directly into the "bathroom" though without any bathroom walls... Hope you enjoy your cruise!
Unfortunately yes... we had someone in our party with a cpap as well and they had to buy an extension cord after we found out about the outlets! Just make sure that you read the rules on what kind of cord you can bring (sometimes they do not allow surge protecting cords due to the fire risk).
The bathroom is a deal breaker for me.😂 Someone really dropped the ball there. Everyone avoids this boat. I imagine that one decision has cost NCL hundreds of millions of dollars.
Thanks for the great comment and your nice words! In this case it is Ristorante La Cucina, an Italian restaurant. Not to be confused with its Spanish kitchen counterpart La Cocina as you mentioned!
We will say that we did have a great cruise still, but going forward we will probably be avoiding the NCL Epic. Our cabin was even longer than most because it was technically a club balcony suite (so the other cabins are even more compact)... There are other cruise lines (and even other NCL ships) that make the same route. We will let you decide if that is worth it or not to sail on the Epic!
It was awful! We were on her last month. I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack when he saw the cabin. I could reach the sink from sitting on the edge of the bed, only one of us at a time could walk through the cabin while one of us would have to sit on the bed or couch with our knees up,to our chest. It was ridiculous. The cavern is nothing like the real Cavern club in Liverpool, the Beatles tribute band were very good, burn the floor was fabulous and thank goodness, the piano players had a good sense of humor because they certainly couldn’t sing. We enjoyed our cruise but would NEVER sail on epic again.
We feel much the same way, and our cabin was even a club balcony suite (so about 5 feet longer than the normal balcony cabin)! Definitely our least favorite NCL ship, but we do agree with you too that the cruise itself was great.
I sailed on this ship last year from Barcelona. It is an old ship. Rusty, very poorly designed and in need to retirement. REALLY bad food and dining room service. Most of the crew seemed like they could care less about the passengers. My cabin steward was amazing as well as the staff in Le Bitro. Never again will I sail on NCL.
Nice review, but I hate the cabin layout so much, that won't even go on this ship if the cruise was free. I want a traditional stand alone bathroom. The bathroom in the cabin concept is awful. No way in the world would i go on this ship, not even if it was 100% free.
You are not alone in your thoughts on this one! There are definitely a lot of people that dislike this cabin, and it has become NCL's most controversial ship.
Wow - you must be pretty spoiled after hearing your complaints. Aside from only one electrical outlet area, I think the rest of the critiques were pretty trivial.
Interesting take! The complaints for this cabin are based on all of the other ships we have been on, which generally have been much better equipped. Thanks for watching!
Were sailing Feb 29 '24! Thank you for the amazing review. We appreciate all your hardwork for capturing the Epic!

Doing the same Greek and Italy cruise in July 2024....I'm hoping it goes well
Doing Same on 9/6/2024
Me too! 27/08/24
Me too see you on there..@mewarner84
Definitely agree on that sofa, that sofa is too uncomfortable too for me to sit also, so many points are very true,
Does the sofa not pull out into another area to sleep?

I love the Epic. Perfect for me❤
May 4 2022, January 15 and November 8 2023 last 12 days Greek epic

There is definitely a reason they never built another one!
Lol, its Co see na and not Cochina....that means dirty (in not so nice way) in Spanish...😉
Enjoying your vlogs!!
Thanks for sharing..

Is it worth it to sail on this ship with such odd balcony cabins and unreal bathroom? I would think twice even if its half price!
