Sweet build man, I’ve got a ly6, Texas speed truck cam stage 2 with high lift, a speedway single turbo kit I’ve got the smaller turbo which I’ve learned I’ll have to get the bigger one I think mines 65/68 or something. I plan on putting mine into a diesel obs chevy since they’re smog exempt in California and just want a nice running 4wd stock feeling truck with plenty of horsepower
Man thanks for posting all of these videos. I’m glad to see someone experimenting with these trucks. I have a 2004 2500HD 6.0/4l80e/4.10. The 6.0 has stock cam and 317 heads. What I gather from this and your other videos is that I would be better off with adding a turbo with it in stock form like the quadrasteer? I plan on swapping in a tbss intake with an ls3 throttle body. I do have a cam that’s similar spec to the one in your red truck but I can use it in my other truck if I would get getter results staying with the stock cam/converter. I mainly use the truck for towing my camper or a dump trailer.
@@MPKPerformance sweet. I may do some experimenting myself with the 3 bolt intake and the tbss intake. Did you use the same 100# dekkas on the QS as you did in your red truck? Or what injectors do you recommend?
Great video. I have a question about the turbos. You mention the turbine housings, but you never tell us the turbine wheel size (in millimeters). Also have you ever built a truck with a 6L90 trans?
The t4 S480 from vs racing has a turbine size of 83/75mm (inducer/exducer) and a 1.10 ar. The t4 7875 has an 82/75mm turbine wheel with a 1.25 ar exhaust housing. No, I haven't done a setup with a 6-speed. I think that would make a good difference having a lower first gear ratio.
@MPKPerformance I'm looking at doing a 2019 Express with an L96, 6L90. I'm thinking the VS racing S480 with the 87x82 turbine t4 1.10 A/R. I think that will give me a little more exhaust flow over the 7875, but still spool well. I'm also going with a small cam (210 duration) springs and E85 fuel.
@davidleslie6207 is similar to Clifford's setup. Going from the 823's to 243's made a big improvement. It will be interesting to see how the 6l90 helps out.
@@MPKPerformance wow!! I need to watch more of your videos. Just found your channel the other week and I'm swamped in work. Probably easy to tune it also I assume? I've done a 228/228 in a 5.3 and a VVT-3 in a 6.2 (both in 2012 Sierras) and even with stall converters it was just too much cam for my liking. I'm looking at getting a 6.0 2500 for towing and like your builds with efficient turbos and mild cams. I might even go with a 1500 if it's a wild deal. I'd be towing 7k. Also that cicada problem tells me you're probably somewhere in GA lol. It really does sound like an alien invasion. I grew up in coastal NC so I'm only used to the ones that buzz in the summer. Not the ones that sound like a train going through some weird tunnel constantly 🤣
@isactoriguevara6030 Yes, it's completely driveable. You wouldn't know what it was capable of until you stand on the pedal. It gets about 12mpg and 10 towing. The quadrasteer I did was more responsive and got 14 mpg with a stock cam and 7875 w/ .96 ar.
@@MPKPerformance That’s actually pretty good. The quadrasteer was an excellent combo for tq, towing, and mpg. It still had the stock 3-bolt tb intake, stock cam, and stock converter.

Great video and info. Putting a turbo on my 2500 with a vsr 7875 billet, gen 3.5 6.0 and 799s. Hopefully pulls like a train.
How did that work out? I’m doing the same right now
My truck is not a turbo truck(yet) but it has that little surge you talk about on light throttle cruise that drives me nuts. I feel your pain.

@MPKPerformance what's your Facebook link?
Sounds like stock cam and a 1.10 ish t4 would be perfect, I wonder if a .98 or so AR would choke it down too much?
The .96 ar on the 7875 with 3" exhaust on a 6.0 will definitely choke it. I would like to test that small tq cam to see if it would help with bp.
@@MPKPerformance I'm very curious about that torque cam as well.
@oceanwaves83 I've proved several times it's a great cam, especially with boost. The Denali Truck will spin all 4 tires with it.

We tune and log with hp tuners and a wideband 02 sensor.
What's the solution for the trans cooler with the duramax intercooler and rad swap?
