Maybe my favorite song by this artist. This whole live album is definitely fire! Man how I miss the big rock concerts. Artists like this LITERALLY every weekend! What a great time to be alive.
Sammy was fighting for recognition at this point in his career, usually opening for other bands, and getting little to no radio time. This fantastic album was not a huge seller, and I believe is out of print. I loved this early era of Sammy’s career. Great, passionate rockers!
The problem with Sammy was simply, he wasn’t David Lee Roth. Having been a young adult of the era, graduated high school in 1980, there was a ton of venom for him out there. I liked him before VH, quite a bit, pre-I Can’t Drive 55 Sammy. Being in the Army, I got to discover music from all over just because of the mix of people. I was exposed to a lot of music in my youth, but the Army allowed me to find so much more sounds and broadened my mind to stuff that just wasn’t reaching Buffalo, NY. College opened Classical, but I will always be grateful for the Army experience.
T The red rocker is great. He’s stood the test of time. I got to see him 3 times in the 80s and also with van hallen. 5150 tour. He’s done it all. If I had a hat. It be hats off to him 👊
I saw Sammy Hagar open up for Boston in 1979 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. They both kicked ass and took names. This album was out then and remains one of my fav live albums ever.
Sammy is one of the greatest vocalist of all time and he is still doing it today. He was the best thing to happen to VH. the only ones that don't like him are the dlr fans.
Hey Brother I just got tickets yesterday for Sammy Hagar & The Circle ( Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson) up at Lake Tahoe under the stars in July..!!
U know I'm kind of a rock and metal historian, but I've never heard this one before. If you like bluesy rock ike this check out Gary Moore. Slash's "solo"/side stuff too. He does one with Fergie that I highly recommend called beautiful dangerous.
I believe the hate came from the fact that some fans felt he was trying to "take over" VanHalen. I have seen VanHalen in concert twice. Once with David Lee Roth and once with Sammy. I preferred Sammy but others preferred David. Either way he doesn't deserve any of the hate that was dished out.
Awesome man, we loved that live album, he kills it. The whole Van Halen hate thing might have been avoided if they just changed their name to Van Hagar, that would have been honest as the band transitioned. But Van Halen was the name that sells so it is history. Of special note is Sammy's time in Montrose, early in his career, this 2 albums for me, are the best thing he ever did and are right there with Van Halen for hard rock originals. Do I Got the Fire off Paper Money, that album is dope. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
This entire album was hard rock though out. When Sammy joined Van Halen he speed up his cadence and lost that Blues Rock feel he had. Don’t get me wrong, I loved his time with Eddie, but it changed his singing. If you want to sample Live music from the 70’s, check out J Giels Band “Blow Your Face Off” REO Speedwagon “You Get What You Play For” or
Truth. Roth walked away from VH. He wasn't fired, but he should've been. Personally, I would've fired him jus so I wouldn't have to listen to his crazy, narcissistic ass!
This is when Sammy was at his best. By the way, you and one other are the only music reactors to do this song. Bravo.
This album was amazing, when hard rock was king. Sammy was on fire.
Being a 80's teen (listening to that stuff) and growing up with 50's/60's music...you are so right 70's rock is the best.

This album was the pinnacle for "The Red Rocker"
I love Sammy, Van Halen and Van (Hagar). ✌🏼Great tune 🎶 🔥

"The Electric Church" ripping the bass
Would definitely say the highlight of the song was the guitar solo.
Sammy Hagar-guitar/vocals, Gary Pihl-guitar, Bill Church-bass guitar, Denny Carmassi-drums, Alan Fitzgerald-keyboards.
Basically all the guys on the first two Montrose albums, no wonder it is a classic!
This is a great song. This whole album rocks not a bad song on it. Thanks again T
A stupendous song from a cracking album! Bollox to the haters!!!
This album has a great version of Bad Motor Scooter on it.

I am so envious, what a lineup!

Sammy Hagar is a rock and roll legend. Fuck the haters.

A great cover of this Donovan tune!

Great cover of an excellent Donovan song. You should check out Julie Felix's version (Saturday Night).

I love Sammy Hagar and this is my favorite live tune of his
Try this song off of his first album. As good as the live version is, I think the studio cut is even better!
Great song and great album entirely
My favorite Sammy Hagar performance!!!
Now check out Montrose "Rock Candy!!!" Sammy Hagar on vocals 1970. You'll love it!!!
You need to listen to Red. Sammy's vocals were stellar, I believe Red and self titled came out the same year. ✌️❤️🤘

Sorry I meant to add Robin Trower’s Live album
Some people would rather have arrogant a**hole over talent and I didn't mean Eddie

Algorithm comment...and I hit the like button bc I'm quite fond of the guy in the video!
When ya going to do some Sammy Hagar HSAS ?🎵🎵🎵
I liked him with Montrose. Not so much after that.
Donovan, so much more than Hurly Girly
*Hurdy Gurdy
SAMMY DONT PLAY THE MAN IS GREAT
Is it me or does Sammy not get any respect for his guitar playing? Just asking.
