As a first timer, i appreciate you taking it through all the steps with great visual aids. It saved time and gave me a little more confidence in tackling this safely.
My system looks very similar to yours but i was reading not to push the compressed air through the backflow because it can damage it. Where else could i attach the compressor besides a bleeder valve?
Gets rid of the water in the lines underground. Any water left in the lines will freeze as the ground expands. If that happens with full lines, the pipes will expand and crack so the next time you try to turn them on you'll flood your yard and have to dig up your pipes to replace.
Thank you for the info in this video. I wish that I could do it myself, but my city requires that it gets done by a licensed irrigation company and they need to send a certificate. That's $60 every 6 months ($120/yr)
