The Fantastic Four will officially enter the MCU in 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and they can break a dark MCU trend that involves Marvel's First Family. Audiences have long awaited The Fantastic Four's debut in the MCU. While the team has starred in three movies already under the Fox Marvel umbrella, these movies were met with mixed to poor reactions, leaving viewers hoping that Marvel can deliver a great film starring The Fantastic Four. Phases 4 and 5 have thus far teased the group's arrival, but only in a limited capacity.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness included an appearance by John Krasinski as Reed Richards. While the actor isn't playing the main Reed in the MCU timeline - instead embodying a variant of the hero - this still made a dream fan-casting a reality. Deadpool & Wolverine featured Chris Evans hilariously reprising his role as Johnny Storm, which he played in 2005's Fantastic Four and 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Both cameos are nice nods to The Fantastic Four, but their appearances also established a surprisingly grim trend that the upcoming Marvel movie can break.

How dare you implant the mere concept of a fantastic four movie with real rocket designs and a feeling of actual space travel into my mind
It's been a while since a Disney trailer got me hyped (except for the delightfully witchy Agatha All Along), but even though I know tihs is AI, it actually looks compelling. The 1950/60 aesthetic, the optimistic and upbeat energy and score, and the adorable font at 0:50 actually made me excited. It's giving Brad Bird (such an underrated action director). Kinda wish this was the direction the movie was taking.

Fun fact: In the original Fantastic Four comic book, they launched somewhere out of northern California. So, a bunch of people from Stockton, CA. petitioned Marvel to make their city the official birthplace of the FF. Thanks to my cousin, Rick, I have a signed copy of that, "document," proclaiming Stockton as the FF's birthplace. ;-P

Wahlberg is what you call a "flavor" actor. When you want a specific flavor, you hire a specific actor to fill that role.
Wahlberg, Statham, Clooney, Bernthal. These guys are flavor actors. You hire them specifically to fill a specific energy in a movie. Danny Trejo is another one. In fact, there's a funny story about the film Predators and how he got his role. The part he played in the film was described in the script as "Danny Trejo-like." He got the job, because he literally fit the flavor of the character the filmmakers where going for.

It all depends on how convincing The Thing proves to be. So far Roger Corman's was the best in that regard way back in 1992. (maybe rubber suits ARE better than CGI)
