- Quality Toyota does it again! Other dealers said it was a unicorn and I would be waiting 9+ months... but I don't have time for that. HUGE HUGE thank you to Peyton and the rest of the team, I will be back again soon!

TUNDRA GANG!
Gang gang
Buddies support each other with similar toys!! Have fun guys.
Can’t speak on the newer Tundras but I drove a 2011 I purchased brand new until about 4 months ago. 13 years of ownership, 170,000+ miles and not a single issue with it just general maintenance on a lift and 35 x12.50 most of it’s life. Was a great truck. That was with the iForce V8 though, don’t know the longevity of their new engine but I’ve heard good things. Enjoy it! Yotas are great
One day after I get out of the military, I’m going overlanding FT. You inspired me after being subscribed since you started overlanding adventures.
I did the same thing. Well, after military and a couple gov contracts. Once a free man, I set out on a life of adventure. Best of luck!
Awesome! Excited to follow this build & I really like the set up of truck you picked with the added packages!
Very cool Talon! Super excited to see your creative build!!
Congrats on the Tundra. I think an Alu-Cab would look sweet in the back. Either way looking forward to the build.
Your a great authentic person and you deserve the success
Congratulations 🎊best of luck and can’t wait for the build to begin. 👍👍💙🔥
Love my 2024 limited trd offroad. You made a good choice imo
Bonjour from Montreal, keep it simple, but can’t wait to see the wrapping… have fun.
Bro... i got my bcm after watching ur video. Now ive been looking at getting a tundra and u picked one up. Awesome and congrats!
Awesome. This is going to be a great series. I can't say how many times I've wondered how a Tundra would build out.
I have a 2024 Tundra SR CrewCab 4x4. I am loving this truck! If you upgrade your tire/wheels, my truck could benefit! Looking forward to your Tundra videos!
Cool truck, enjoy my friend. Looking forward to the new build.
If I am reading between lines, you are going to go family mode. Can't wait for these mods and content. Great channel, have alot of mods I want to do, so will follow this
Congrats! Can’t wait to see the build! Gnight!
Great looking truck. Can’t wait to see what you do to it
You’re going to love it. I love my 2023 Crew-Max Platinum Windchill Pearl I got just about a year ago.
OMG what a beautiful truck! Cool dude at the dealership too.
Owner of a 24 Tundra myself. I've enjoyed finding your channel and what you're doing in your videos! Keep up the OEM + thing going.
I just took delivery of a 24 Tundra Platinum Crew Max long box 4x4. Love it. Coming from a 21 Hybrid F150. Got a deal!
Can’t wait to see what u do with this Bro. If I like it enough my son might be getting my 22 Tacoma trd and I may get back in to a tundra
So hyped for the build. I have a tundy/kimbo combo and its the bestttt
Nice 🙌🏼 This is going to be a much better platform to haul that thing around
Super excited for this! 😮
Definitely needs lifted & maybe wheel/tire upgrade! Congrats on the new truck…looking forward to future content👍🏼
Nice pick I hope you wrap it not a fan of white. Love my tundra it’s a 07 with 218k still running strong
I'm looking forward to the new build! It's an amazing truck. I got a whole new appreciation for the Tundra last year at the DC auto show. Also, I loved that cinematic narrative part in the beginning.
Thanks Chris!
I have a 22 with 5,5 bed and it’s easy to get a sag with gear and a rack. Can’t wait to see your aftermarket options
Welcome to the Tundra Team 🤘🏻
That back up camera in the rearview mirror is so cool
Pumped for the truck content
Loved the 2022 that I rented. Love my 2017 Tacoma too. I want to go full size eventually and the Tundra is a contender.
This must be a sign since I have been wanting A tundra lately lol, cant wait to see what's to come with the truck!
I have a wind chill 2023 1794 TRD Off Road. Try the Smartop/TourTop bed cover. I think its amazing and I was close to get a Diamondback but wanted something unique and with more utility. Good luck with it.
Looking forward to the Tundra Kimbo experience
Getting the smaller rear cab is great to get the bigger bed and still have a good turning radius. This might be the best mileage you ever get because once you take the Michelin tires off your mileage will go down. If your digital mirror is like mine on the Power Wagon you can add a rear trailer camera onto the back of any camper setup you get and still have great review visibility using your rear view mirror.
Mileage will improve a bit after the 5k mile break in. The Engine Control Unit changes some things after that many miles.
I already know this build will be bad ass!!!! Tundra=W
👏👏👏GORGEOUS! But hey Talon, I am a firm believer in hybrids. My wife has a 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid and the range on it is 👌. Gas station trips are like every two weeks and it is her daily driver. 2024 or 2025 hybrid Toyota pickup is gonna be a game changer for sure. Love the channel, keep up the awesome work. 🙏
Unfortunately (kinda) Toyota truck hybrids only add like 1mpg - mostly just power gains to help with any turbo lag
@LastLineOfDefense man, that is a solid point. I didn't think of that one. Well, with how fast tech is evolving you would think they would have that figured out. I am sure they will though. Thanks for that though, learn something new everyday
Wow Yup !
Got da big Boi! Lol, this is gonna be fun. As much as you can build out a Tacoma, putting that kind of customization on a Tundra?! More expensive, yeah... But... Soooo badass.
Nice snag my man 🔥💥💯
The MPG is great...till you run 37s Congrats on your truck, I love my 3rd gen Tundra
Hell yes! Team Tundra 🔥🔥
The Tundra is awesome. I just wish it was viable here on the east coast for more than street driving. My Taco barely makes it down a lot of the "jeep" trails here.
Hi Talon, I have a very similar truck as yours: 3rd gen Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road, Double Cab, 6.5 ft bed. I like that you chose a double cab. It has a better stance than the crewmax in my opinion - more like a sports coupe vs a sedan. My Kimbo is being built right now. Collin tells me that I will have it by mid-April. Fyi, I got Air Lift 5000 airbags, Rough Country 1.75 front leveling kit and Falken WildPeak AT4 285 65R20 tires. I was thinking about putting 295's on but didn't want to risk rubbing especially with the Kimbo on top
Nice man! I agree, the double cab looks more "trucky" and I like that a lot. I don't have the need for big back seats for passengers. I think you will be completely fine with 295s. I am going big with the tires which will require a little bit of trimming, but with a proper install and airbags on your truck, I don't think you will have any issues.
Welcome tp the big truck club!!
Congrats on the Tundra! I’m stoked to follow the build
I'm excited as HELL to see what you do with the Tundra!!!
Identical to my 23 tundra. Was definitely a tough build to find.
Your cute back window 🥺
Good timing for that dealer because Tundras are starting to overflow on lots because they are pretty damn expensive and discounts are starting to get bigger.
You have lane centering, it is in the center menu. It is invasive😅. Nice truck!!
I’d love to see ya load the Kimbo up and take it on a few trips completely stock!
The truck should be able to handle the Kimbo stock but it will definitely be modified before the camper goes on here. Supporting mods for something like that is always a nice safety precaution.
+1 for testing out the Kimbo on the stock truck! Need a baseline! :)
Need those Tow mirrors !
I would lift it. Rock sliders. Dual tip exhaust.
Bigger trd rims tires.
Great truck !!
Oh I forgot I grew up in Colorado Springs for many years, my father was stationed at Norad , my Uncle at Ft Carson. I have lived there around 14 years total. Then I met SoCal... :o)
I miss my Suburban with the 40 gallon tank (@ 14 / 18 mpg) you can drive all day, or stop for the lowest price gas stops. My new truck is only 24 gallon, but I can hit 22mpg.
Hopefully your truck isn’t any of the few that had the faulty chain and grenades the engine or that dreaded oil leak on the back that requires to remove the engine to fix it. Can’t wait to see all the great stuff you do 👍
Pretty sure that was the 22 models and should be resolved by now
Big boy truck! I would love to have power rear window. Sooooo nice if you don’t like AC or wind in your face.
Lane centering whaaaaa? Cool.
Your truck should have lane centering but it isn’t enabled. Go into the LTA menu and turn it on. Should be standard on all trim levels.
DUDE! Thank you 🙌🏼 I didn’t dive into those settings to see that
Is that ridge carry on luggage or some other brand? Love the content! I have 3 boys so to go that route in future years with your channel and the same content with a family in mind would be awesome to see.
Pelican camera case
I wanted a SR5 Crewmax TRD offroad with 6.5ft bed but couldn’t find one. So I got one with 5.5ft bed and loving it so far. I hope you include some overland products for the 5.5ft bed
All of the plans that I have set will work with 5.5ft beds as well! Minus the Kimbo of course.
The back sliding window is good if you fart and you can let it out in the rear. Or have a 🐝 flying around. You can let it out in the rear.
So now that you have the Tundra, you're still keeping the Tacoma as well, right? (or trading it in for the 4th gen when it comes out).
What about keeping the Taco as your crawling/technical overlander, and building up the Tundra for more of a remote expedition vehicle? IE not geared so much towards technical terrains, but built up for really long-range adventuring far from home. Like Alaska and such
100% gotta do a wrap like the Ivan “Ironman” Stewart Baja truck
I just found your channel and enjoy the content, i just bought a new 4runner and love it. but i had a question, your carry on suitcase is it a Pelican case? i am looking for a new case and was wondering what yours was. thank you in advance
It is a pelican camera case
I’m looking for this exact truck.
Just bought a version of it but want those options now
Oh F*ck Yeah. Time to build a monster rig like Expedition Overland
Hell Yeah, I can not wait to see what he does to it!
I think you will regret not getting full back seats...but hey, its your truck and you know what you are gonna do with it..cheers and enjoy it...I love my 2023 tundra
I have zero seats in the back of my tacoma so this is honestly an upgrade for interior space plus a 6.5ft bed.
How much was ⛽️ gas ?
Great color!!!
I might call Peyton for my next tundra
Great video. So what makes your Tundra different. I’m asking because I want to know exactly what you got options trim level etc. Thanks again. Can’t wait to see what you do,
SR5 double cab
Advanced off-road tech package
Premium audio package
TRD off-road premium package
Black softex interior
Everything else is just single add ons like bed liner, all weather mats etc.
@@TalonSei thanks man I appreciate it
Let's go!
Car seats you say 🤔
Also can't wait to see the Kimbo on it.
Nice truck Talon congratulations I had one older lifted on 38" stainless headers and supercharged dyno out at 610 HP can't wait to see the build
🤙🏽🤙🏽🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽💪🏽💪🏽 love this truck 🔥🔥🔥
So F'ing clean. If Toyota isn't paying you - they should!! Amazing Truck. I want one.
I wish they were 😂
NIce!
super sick!! but what happend with the hybrid? tundra makes them too
Love your videos. I've noticed that most don't take the engine break-in period in the manual seriously. At least in the all the past Toyota's I've owned, it advises against "driving at a constant speed for extended periods". From the manual:
Breaking in your new Toyota:
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:
●For the first 200 miles (300 km): Avoid sudden stops.
●For the first 500 miles (800 km): Do not tow a trailer.
●For the first 1000 miles (1600 km):
• Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration.
• Do not drive continuously in low gears.
• Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods
What are your thoughts?
It’s a recommendation that has been around for years and years. With how vehicles are built today, I follow it loosely and just try not to beat on the truck and keep it in lower RPMs whenever possible.
Most people seem to feel the same way about it. I've even had dealers say that it's not a big deal. I'm a bit ocd and figure the engineers put it in there for a reason so I follow it....With that said, it's pretty annoying...LOL Nice truck, man. Can't wait to see what you do with it. @@TalonSei
hey Talon will you be doing any edc and gear stuff soon i miss those video's
If its like the 2nd gen even with the larger gas tank I think you can't use about 8 gallons of it because of how its designed gas just sits at the bottom of tank and can't run it dry.
I drove 400+ miles before filling up so that's definitely not an issues on these 3rd gen trucks.
Did you get the Hybrid Tundra?
Definitely want to see the Kimbo on it, and how it runs ("stock"). I'm also waiting for the hybrid Tacoma for my Kimbo, but could consider a Tundra...
Non hybrid
I just got a 24 platinum tundra and I said the same thing that it gets up and go compared to my 17 Tacoma.
How do you like those gpf filters on the new toyotas? Just a like a diesel now.
Congrats on the new Truck man, I love my 2023 platinum tundra ! Killer truck you got 🤌🏼
Tundraaaaa boiiiiiiis! Super stoked to see you are already getting comfortable with the new big boy. Welcome to the 1/2 ton life!
Time to do some tundy camping 🫡
You look so good with the shorter beard!
I'd like to see tires and shocks only and then later a front and rear locker.
Already has a rear locker from the factory 🤌🏼
@@TalonSei Nice! Okay then we need to be able to play MarioKart on that BIG screen. LOL
No lie… im working on that solution today 🤣
Would love to know what package options you went with, looking at building mine out and curious what others are selecting.
SR5 double cab
Advanced off-road tech package
Premium audio package
TRD off-road premium package
Black softex interior
Everything else is just single add ons like bed liner, all weather mats etc.
Stock+ … lift, wheels & tires … Diamondback … wrap … not crazy … no snorkel!!!!
I like where your head is at Mink 👌🏼
Second question : Was there any complications purchasing vehicle in different state? As it pertains to paying tax and DMV? I want to explore all options for best deal on new Tundra, no matter which state it resides in.
It’s different from state to state but the process I went through was very simple.
I bet Mike is jealous. Great looking truck
It's a rad truck, I'd be jealous for sure. Except I have the exact truck, just in green, haha
Put a 12” lift and some 44” super swamper boggers
New subscriber here. I know it’s been asked a million times, but want to ask again, how’s the cabin space in back for double cab? Is it good enough?
That will vary from person to person. For me it an enough because I rarely have more than 1 passenger. If you regularly are shuttling people around, it will feel cramped in the back for most.
@@TalonSei can’t wait to see the next build update on your Tundra. Looking forward to it.
Will you put the same wrap on this truck?
You most likely have lane centering. It’s an option to turn on in settings and only works in cruise control.
Check my recent IG reels
My first gen taco has a gas cap holder lol
Get the dirtbox flatbed system
CAMPER SHELL build please!
can you give us a link to were these trucks are 8.000 of MSRP please I'm trying to get one. Thanks
Why not the bigger rear cab model? Crew cab? Is it the bed size that you wanted as well?
Bed size is more important to me than seating for passengers
