Hi Brian great take on let it be vinyl boxset . And some great info . Sorry to hear about your ep . I have slight distortion on end of side one and two . The only complaint I have is quality control my new remix vinyl cover has what looks like someone’s nail dug in but minor music is great . And I like the new mix as also like previous Giles Martin remix’s . Nice to see your video take care joe

Nice to see you back, been wondering. Though I did see your "Two of Us" cover recently, really nice. I would love to have that official Get Back lp, looks great. And that Apple jams double lp, beautiful. Almost got the lp set for those. In the end though I do most of my listenings on cd, especially outakes sessions and such I don't really need them on lp most of the time. So I ended up with getting just the cd version. Also less stuff to deal with when I hear about IGD and such. Still when those come available as stand alone releases I won't hesitate. Thanks for the review.
Great review! Have been thinking about getting the box set and now seems worth it based on the book quality and GM album mix. Was worried about any of the future Beatle related re-releases based on the All Things Must Pass end result. Also, fab Bob cameo.
I got this set aswell and loved everything about it. I also 1 small issue with the Jams lp 1 there was 1 skip on let it be take 28 and like you I thought I could return this but there is really no point as everything else is so perfect. The book and Glyn John's mix is a highlight and the actual presentation of everything is lovely.

Good review, Brian. I think the box set is fantastic overall even though I was a bit underwhelmed by the remix of the main album. It sounds great but I wasn't blown away...unlike Pepper and Abbey Road which I think were significant improvements over the original mixes. Agree about how great the EP sounds but sorry yours has a warp. Really hoping we get remix box sets for Rubber Soul and Revolver some time too...that would be amazing.
I think all the little changes to the "Get Back" mix in the new Let it Be box (some subtle edits, etc.) are all to make this a unique version of GET BACK that's attractive even to those who have all the bootlegs.
I'm angry about that groove distortion, and the warp, and I didn;t even buy it. At those prices, no excuse for Apple to skip Quality Control. That kind of lapse undermines a company's reputation. 27:00 That's bad symbolism if Apple are photoshopping takes from a photo session to get them all smiling the same - - given how some of us are wary of historic revisionism in the Let It Be doc, that tinkering is unnerving, and a different matter than if a different photo from the session had been chosen. Sounds like Apple instead chose to contrive a point in time that did not exist? That's no more acceptable than Ron Howard colorising b/w footage. Interesting review, Brian, you're still the Go-To guy that helps me decide whether to spring for these Apple releases. And did you notice McCartney was seen at a Liverpool bus stop 3 Saturdays ago? photographed by a passerby rather than a p-r stunt. He does that occasionally,: some public transport passenger finds himself sat opposite Paul McCartney reading a book. He's the Bill Murray of England.

V-C reviewer Beatley Tone just did some research and found the 'Get Back' disc that's supposed to be the Glyn John's mix is the sonic equivalent of photoshopping the cover. His youtube page concludes, "To put together, y'know, a combined mix and sell it as the 1969 mix is surely a cock-up of monstrous proportions." I know yr a bit more easygoing about these things, whereas I tend to round up a posse marching on Apple the way Universal villagers with burning torches used to march on Frankenstein's castle - - like the French revolutionaries stormed the Bastille! But it's useful to know these actual historic details of what the product really is, rather than what Apple hype says it is. Your ear for these things is top notch, lad.

Regarding your warped EP. I had an issue with one of the albums in my vinyl box set. I had Walmart send me a new set. I have two weeks to send my original set back. If you would like, I can trade my none warped EP from my original set for yours. It sounds great and plays just fine. All I would ask is that you cover shipping
I think the new remix is fantastic as well. It walks all over the other versions. Makes them sound flat. It’s Giles best work since Love. IMHO. Don’t be gone so long!😄
The set is absolutely fantastic but i also have some issues with my copy. The last track on side 2 of the sessions LP has what looks like glue on the surface which makes a rasping noise several times and on the Get back LP there is a loud whooshing noise for about a minute at the start of side two. Also the outer case has a small tear on the bottom left cut out. For the price i am very disappointed with the quality control. I have debated whether to return it but like yourself i worry that a replacement may have faults too.
Why don’t you get a converter box which takes the turntable output and plugs into USB port in your computer and download the vinyl onto computer? Then put them on an iPod or iPhone and play them in the car, headphones while exercising etc. If you save the files as MP4 instead of mp3, they sound way better and retain all the frequency width of the original vinyl. My car stereo is way better than my home stereo so that’s what I do

I'm going to have to disagree. You're talking about the vinyl so I can't really say anything about that but I can say something about the CDs. I'll get right to it. The downside on the CD remix would be dig a pony, across the universe and the long and winding Road. The rest of the remix is good but what really stands out is the Get Back CD. Love that one a lot except track two.
Madman has always been a favorite of mine as well. That would have been a great EP. They could have even had a full length LP with just the rare jams/songs from Twickenham: Two Of Us (fast version), Suzy Parker, Madman, Etc. Missed opportunity, unless of course they are planning a soundtrack album to the new Get Back documentary. But I highly doubt that.
@@BrianBringelson My faves are Georges solo performances, Dylan and his own songs. They could have used studio trickery to up his vocal volume (he was always away from the mic) To me that "EP" is a slap in the face, to fans. Just like my 2018 Smart TV, can't get Disney Plus !!

The GM LIB mix is good, love the drums, vocals, and keyboards. The Glyns GB mix is excellent. The jams and EP were a major disappointment....same set of same songs, some from anthology mixes, and nothing really new in all those hours of recording they made. The blu ray is great, but I would rather have had (3) cds of a variety of unreleased songs. As a cost of well over 150 bucks, it was NOT worth the price. I'm gonna stick to bootlegs to get my fixes right. ✌

Best aspect of Let it Be Naked is Don't Let Me Down, which is Lennon's best song from the sessions. Giles remix sounds good.

I returned two boxes due to the IGD. All on the left channel. In the end I am happy with my other versions and can listen to the extras digitally.
