Even in the rain the light floods your living room and dining room. What an inspired decision you made reguarding the sky lights, beautiful.
Here in America we would call your dinning area, a Breakfast Nook. We use that style table and bench’s for little nooks off from our kitchens! They are cozy and everyone’s favorite s place to hang out. It’s just absolutely lovely.
I call mine a dinning room, but I am old lol
… dining with one ‘n’…
Instead of painting the back with the prominent wood grain, would you consider installing a vintage or vintage looking wallpaper? It could look very nice. 😊
Came here to say this! You could also spray mount fabric to a piece of foam core and put that in the back.
@@susanma4899it is best, then changes can be made easily when you grow tired of the pattern.
Mirror backing could be interesting.
great idea
You can even use Spray Starch and line the inside with fabric. Easy to change later too..
You definitely "need" that wonderful blue flowered stool!!! It is perfect for you!
My favorite part of this video was you eating your breakfast at the table, in your dressing gown with your tools sitting on the table 😁👏🏻😂👍🏻
The cabinet turned out really nice!
And I’m glad you took some time off! You deserve down time away from it all 😁🤗🥰
Hi Elise! Thanks for another great video. The next time you need to install cabinet pulls, here are two useful tips. Put a piece of painter’s tape on the back of the pulls and mark the holes on the tape. Then put the tape on your piece of furniture and you will know exactly where to drill. Then, when it’s time to drill, drill from the front side. When the drill bit comes out of the wood, it usually leaves some splintering but only on the side where the bit comes out. So, start drilling from the front. Love how your home is coming along!
I love your house and the way you are furnishing it. You have a great eye for detail and form! But I must admit.....I miss your apartment with the embroidered chairs and tasseled lamps and the fairy lights around your bed. It was so nice.....and so is your house!!!❤
The green is absolutely perfect. I'm enjoying watching your vision come together. Brava.
I can hardly believe all the things you do alone! Fantastic ❤
As someone who loves distressed pieces I was excited to see you aging your cupboard! The distressing process is relaxing for me. You did a great job…you added character to it! ❤ I’m glad you went on a getaway!
In America or anywhere else, everyone has their own style of beauty. I love what you have done with your home mostly by yourself. You are beautiful, brave, and I love your style. Good job!
Cabinet is a lovely colour. I like the wallpaper the back idea someone else mentioned. Save your muscles, remove doors and shelves when transporting or hanging cabinet. It will really help. It turned out great.
When you were staining the cabinet, I thought wow I love the back. Then you almost painted over it. Glad it grew on you. Nice job as usual.❤
I'm so glad you went with the natural wood on the inside back of the cabinet. It was so beautiful. Thank you for this lovely post.
As always a beautiful video and wonderful work. I am always blown away at how put together and glamorous you look, even while you are painting or carrying furniture around. I can't wait to see what beautiful things make it into your display cabinet.
The back of the cabinet looks so cool with the contrast!
Fantastic job,the green 💚 with the wood is perfect your vision for that cozy corner is perfect!!!
You are such a hard worker, Elise, and yet you keep a mellow, gracious attitude and vibe that is pleasant to watch. It's fun watching you create the new dining corner. I absolutely love the vintage shop in the country that you took us to. Wish I could go there. Your videos are nicely edited - you tell a good story. By the way, the wood at the back of your cabinet looks like what we call plywood.
Glad to see taking some days off for yourself. You need to do that occasionally so you don’t burn out. Love the way your cabinet turned out. It’s all coming together beautifully.
The cabinet looks lovely, Elise. I'm so glad that you took a few days away from your busy schedule.😊
Oh my! I love the country thrift store! The owner has amazing taste and sense of style. What a beautiful treasure. It was meant for you to find, sweet lady. 🌞🌻🌻🌻🌻
Your haphazard measurements for the cookies makes me laugh and gives me life😆 Often people get way too obsessed with perfect measurements! Cooking and baking is an art, not a science :)
Love the green on your cabinet! You handle the power tools so well!
Love the natural wood with stain!
We need more cooking/baking with Elise. Your recipes are so wonderful😍💞
Love your channel, I patiently wait all week for the new episodes.
I love the color you put on the cabinet, you did a super job as always !! Blessings Paula
Elise, the cabinet is amazing and the way you painted her 🤍 Can’t wait to see the whole interior idea that you have!
Ooh careful .. loving how your home is coming together loving the cabinet your awsom Elise ❤.love dark chocolate.
Elise! You are like a professional cabinet painter! I think I would’ve been too lazy to go through all the washing and cleaning steps you did, but my goodness, I love the interior of that cabinet! That’s texture and it warms it up! It looks like a professional painted that cabinet! Hope you had a fun time offand if it is God’s goodwill for you, that you got to spend time with your boy!
Elise , the cabinet is now one of a kind ,kudos to you on your vision.
The cabinet looks beautiful. You are going to enjoy having it for your "pretties".
One thing I have learned in years of upscaling or upcycling furniture is to always seal your wood piece with Clear Wax. Not only does it seal the paint, but it adds depth to the paint. Annie Sloan (no affiliation)makes the best. And remember a little goes a long way so I would buy smallest tin.
Love your diys
I love Annie Sloan's house😊
Yes! Experiment and be creative. As you said you can always repaint! I love that you kept the interior unpainted. It adds character. Beautiful handles too! Such a pretty shade of green. Lovely.
Thanks for taking your time and making us a lovely video for this week! How nice the cabinet turned out, your living room is going to be so cozy 🥰
Your taste is endlessly good,Elise. A natural gift of yours!!!❤
Beautiful work, Elise, and so fun visiting the treasure chest with you!
The beautiful woodgrain showing in the back is wonderful! I wouldn't see it as weird, but beautiful.
Elise's videos are the only one I watch full screen
At your vintage store, these camping armchairs with all the flowers on them: my grandparents used to have the same when I was a child, I forgot about them, it brought back so many memories… A little too big and heavy to send to the US where I am… 🙁 But this store really has wonderful things!
Nice job on your little cabinet.
Brown yellow orange flowered fabrics and wallpaper were everywhere in 70s such a fun time, lovely to think someone will buy them. 🤎🧡💛
Beautiful video Elise, love how your corner is evolving, the cabinet is excellent.
Love your Cabinet and the color and loved your new Vintage thrift shop, so many beautiful things there!❤
The table looks like it belongs now with cabinet being dark. Also without the table cloth , looking beautiful Elise😊
Elise, it made me so happy to see you eating breakfast at your new dining nook. You created a gorgeous light filled place to nourish your soul and body. I can see you hosting many fun celebrations here in the future. And your new vintage friend's shop is glorious! I could spend hours there poking around and finding many treasures. Hugs from Santa Rosa, CA.
You have made a very good quality job on the cabinet, it looks beautiful. Enjoy your down time.
There’s our Precious Elise. You never stop amazing me at ALL THAT YOU DO Solo! your Cabinet looks great Elise and love the hardware you chose. Cannot wait to see how you bring everything together in your Redone Dining Area. I cannot wait to make your cookies. I’m not a cookie fan, but those looks so yummy, and fun to make. One bite will probably do me, but will enjoy giving them to my friends. Elise, would you PLEASE, PLEASE Show how and what you us in making your Ice Coffee’s? Hope you read this request. I am so proud of you for taking 3 days off to get away from the net, phone and work and enjoyed your get away. Have a blessed wkend and up coming week. I always look forward to Fridays with you. Much love: Momma Karla in Ok

I love how the cabinet turned out. So glad you didn’t paint the inside!! I love the wood grain look!!🤗
The dining area is looking great. Love all the cozy colours ❤️😍
Very, very enjoyable being with you .....your outlook and attitude are so,so refreshing. ✨
I like it, I like it a lot. It’s coming together beautifully. The skylight really brightens the whole area. Bathed in sunshine. ❤
this is coming along very nicely 🥰 I always wanted a breakfast/dinner nook, always seemed cozy and intimate and like bringing retro diner into a home which is cool in itself. And, thanks for showing your new found vintage friend’s boutique/personal collection-she’s got a lovely array of clothes and decor 😍☺️ Also, I’m gonna have a go at that cookie recipe 😋 looks delicious!
When drilling holes that have to be a certain distance apart, a top tip is to use masking tape. Stick a piece across the back of the handles, mark where the holes are on the masking tape with a pen then peel off and restick the masking tape on the cupboard where you want to place the handles then simply drill thru the masking tape where the marks are and voulà, they are in the perfect place. You can also do this when hanging pictures or mirrors, use a spirit levelon the tape to make sure it's level, adjust the tape b4 drilling holes if it's not. Love your cupboard and especially the grain texture at the back as it adds real character 👌
Ohhhhh how I would love to rifle through all of those paintings and framed goodies. 😍🤩
So glad you had some time away to relax. I was excited to see a video from you and totally, as always, enjoyed it. The cabinet looks so good and blends with your table. Have a lovely week.
I have seen people put wallpaper or fabric over the back inside of cabinets. Love how everything is coming together in your cozy space. Blessings!
I liked this video. It's nice to see your dining room coming together. The little cabinet makeover was very good!
I love your DIY !!! It turned out perfectly!

Good morning Elise, First time posting a comment here, but I look forward to your uploads every week ❤ I love what you've done with your cabinet and the idea of distressing it. And your cookies look delicious! Can you also share your pancake recipes with with us? I would love to try making it sometimes ❤
Beautiful cabinet. Love the handles. I’m so happy you took a break from technology. Everyone should. Thank you Elise.
So glad you took some time off! Take good care of you.🥰
Luv luv luv the cabinet you did a fabulous job. I luv that you left the back natural.
I totally think that you need that blue still wouldn't it look lovely on the other side of your dinning room table? If you don't life that idea it would look lovely by your sliding doors. A great way to sit and take on /off your shoes.
Luv the little vintage shop. Great find
I really like what you're doing around your dining area. Others have suggested wallpaper on the back of your lovely cupboard. If you have any leftovers from your bedroom the colours would integrate beautifully with the whole scheme. Taking a bit from one room into another helps to maintain cohesion within the whole too. Just a thought. I like the wood myself.
I love doing this Antique distressed look on furniture 💖
Beautiful project you share today..love that color..and the distress..is absolutely amazing..new look amazing..have a beautiful blessing day..👌👌🩷🌸🩷🩷🌸🌸
My china cabinet is peacock blue. Even though I added a light, it was still kind of dark on the inside. I wanted my vintage pottery and china to “pop” so I bought some foam core board and cut it to fit the interior back wall of my cabinet. I scored on a light colored vintage fabric at the thrift store and wrapped it around the foam core board, taping it on the back of the board with painters tape to hold it in place. What a difference the fabric makes and so much cheaper then peel & stick wallpaper. FYI, taping the fabric allows you change it when you get bored or want a different color/pattern. Also, If you don’t have foam core board, cardboard works just as well. Elise, don’t forget to paint the underside of your cabinet!
Ohh your lil treasure find was Amazing. Amazing 💛💛💛If only my area of the United States 🇺🇸 had these wonderful lil hidden treasures 💛🌹💛
So glad you took a few days off. The cabinet looks great! Love that green color. So Elise!
Love the green over the stain on your cabinet! Can't wait to see it up on the wall! You did a great job. 💚🌻☀
Elise, what do you think about adding a (flat) trellis against one of the walls and have a planter on the floor. Plant ivy and have it growing up the trellis. It will love the sunlight and bringing green plants down to that end of the room will make that end of the room feel alive and so cozy! Just an idea - love your vision and how it is all coming together! 😍
That dining nook is like a little dreamy boho Mediterranean cafe corner, flooded with light and floral vibes, lovely. ❤️
Your cabinet looks great! If you do decide to change the inside back, you could always put some pretty paper, even wrapping paper would work. I used to always take a pretty Calendar picture and put it in the back of my medicine chest and then put the shelves back in. Looking forward to seeing your completely finished dining area, but it's looking good. So nice to have the light coming from the skylights. Have a great weekend!
You look so happy! So nice to see your smiling face!😊
Good Saturday morning to you Elise
I am so happy that you are here. I tuned in Friday, but you weren't here, so I was concerned. Happy to hear from you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The cabinet turned out amazing. Love the color. 😊🇨🇦
I recently painted a thrift store cabinet similar to yours except it was much smaller and had legs. I could not find small knobs that I liked anywhere so I ended up combing the salvage stores like Habitat Resale and found the perfect vintage knobs.
The cabinet looks so good…very nice color. I hope you get help hanging it……it looks very heavy. Your home is so cozy and welcoming. 🥰
Great work Elise! The cabinet is beautiful! Glad you got to go on a little getaway! Can't wait to see more!!
Your home and garden are fabulous and it’s always a treat seeing Denmark
It all looks amazing already. I would be in vintage heaven at that store 🧡🤎💚💛

how much i miss the rain...greetings form Greece !!! It hasn't rained in Greece for over a month! We've had continuous temperatures of 38 degrees for the past two weeks! We're suffering from the heat.
Hello lovely, hope you had a nice break 😊 My godmother "makes" furniture old, and she showed me few tricks - she uses beeswax to seal the furniture and her favourite part is a gold petina wax, you use that on top of the scratches/corners so the furniture has a slight goldes sheen. It looks lovely xx
Cabinet is perfect!!! So good to see that beautiful smile again 🤗💜
Beautiful cabinet! You have such positive energy and you are so creative. 💙👍🌻🌍
It’s a breakfast nook. It looks absolutely lovely!

Isabelle
Your top light is so beautiful! Enjoy! 🎉❤
