The floral wallpaper looks amazing. A narrow piece of wood trim along the ceiling could help hide the gap.
And a thin piece on the left and right would make it look intentional and like a giant piece of art
The same molding as the chair rail!
Yes, a piece of trim to match the bottom trim rail!
That is exactly what I wanted to say, some nice piece of trim moulding.
Yes a piece of molding at top will hide the gap and match the molding at the bottom. Walls are never level. I have wallpapered and got frustrated. My husband said "focus on beauty not perfection."
If you don’t want to add a piece of wood trim to cover the gap on the wall…try a ribbon or piece of lace instead❣️
I was thinking that fringe would look cool!!😊❤ (maybe hot glued?)
A cheap and easy way to deal with the wall border is a thick piece of ribbon along the top.
Great idea❣️👍✅
Yes! 😊
I thought of a wooden trim but this is a much better idea!
Yes, I thought of that fringe she shows at the beginning of the vlog for some reason. 😅 I think it would look bohemian.
Perfect, love that wallpaper, all you need to do now if you so choose to, add a trim wood board piece to that top of wallpaper and it will cover the uneveness of the paper, never know it was uneven
It will perfectly mirror the trim on the bottom and actually look more finished.
Coming to comments to say just that, I would use wood trim all the way around making it look like a giant painting!
Peel and stick decorative trim is available online. The floral wallpaper is very pretty.
I could see the second sheet of wallpaper was dropping down a little bit at the top and I was saying ou loud 'Elise, lift it up a bit at the top' but you couldn't hear me! Yes, a bit of wood or fabric trim will cover up the small gap. It's beautiful paper and looks great in the studio. Lovely video as usual. Thank you.
Beautiful little one. This old lady loves everything you do. God bless.
Ditto, another grandmother from Ireland. ❤
Same here. Am a 69 year old G'ma and loves it all too..
@@TheThriftyGmaMe too - Elise is a lovely young woman with the most exquisite taste. She reminds me of myself when I was her age and started to appreciate the value of buying beautiful pre-loved items and giving them more than one life!
Thank you so much 🥰
Hi Elise! I can see many people are commenting what I meant to comment as well, which is add trim molding where the gap above the wallpaper is present, however, since there isnt any molding anywhere else, it could look weird - so using some molding all around the wallpaper, kind of like a picture frame, would be a great option. You could even paint it a nice sage green or something, and really embrace the picture frame effect. Hope this is inspiring for you!
Actually, there is trim at the bottom of the wallpaper, at the top of the bead board. So, matching trim could double as crown molding. I think that any wooden "picture frame" would need to match the trim that is already on the bottom.
Maybe you could put some crown molding on that part of the wall so it doesn't show The Gap. Because it would bother me too. By the way I love the paper it is stunning
When wallpapering, >never< start at the ceiling line. Always extend a good 3-4 to accommodate for an uneven line. Then simply cut along the ceiling line with a sharp cutter.
I love how she just jumps in and does stuff, I'd overthink it and study it until I got tired of it and probably never do it! Good tips about the wallpaper.
Does it make a difference because there was a design? I feel that she was trying to match the flowers. Do you still do it the same way?
@@ginagray603 . That's me!. It's no wonder I haven't wallpapered my bedroom wall yet. I over think, doubt my thinking, second guess, and end up frustrated and forgetting about it.
@@ginagray603same and by the end of it, I would be in the fetal position.
My friend always says 'better done than perfect'.
Definitely a trim to hide the gap. Maybe a bold one painted gold.
Hey Elise, Love the wallpaper. To fix the gap, just cut a matching piece off the scraps( if you saved them) and match it up and glue on the top. Then cut off the excess! Works every time! You won’t even notice it was patched from far away!!!!! Love your work!!!!
Yes. I always did that
Yes that’s how I would fix it too.
Elise, the paper is beautiful. I have a suggestion to help cover up the “oops”. You can add a thin decorative molding available at big box home improvement stores and frame out the wallpapered wall - it will look like framed artwork and conceal the gap. I always enjoy your videos.
Love the paper!!! I would actually mix paint colors to fill in the gap. Or better yet, install a piece of moulding
I’m going along with everyone saying how beautiful the wall paper looks. And the lace blouse under the dress… what a stunning combo. All the best to you
THANKS
So glad you got that mirror 🥰
I love the mirror you bought ❤it's so beautiful!!Your garden is just bursting with gorgeous flowers 🌹💐🙂 Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
In my life nothing is ever perfect. At my age, good enough is good enough. everything you have done is amazing. YOU are amazing.
FLOWERS! WALL, DRESS AND GARDEN GORGEOUS!! 🏵️🪷🌻🪻🌺
Your garden is looking lovely!!! I love the wallpaper you picked! Looks great!! I love that flowered mirror! I love when the black cat visits you if you haven't named him lets call him Salem!! A cat would be a great pet for you!!
The barroque cornice moldings would work perfectly to cover that gap from the wall paper. Everything looks wonderful! ✨️
Elise you have this innate ability to make everything simply beautiful. Everything, from your wallpaper, frames, lampshade fabric to wearing that magical floral dress. It’s a gift and you have it 😊 I hope my words make sense.
The wallpaper is gorgeous! And the romper with shorts brought back '80s memories...I loved them back in the day! ❤🪭♥️
The wallpaper looks wonderful and no one will notice the gap. I adore the mirror you bought and that dress is fabulous!
Studio looks great - sure no one will notice small gap as paper so beautiful and so much to see in the shop. Sweets idea a good one and you worked so hard.
Wall paper is beautiful. Crown molding will finish it off.
Beautiful garden, studio, and home. Another old lady who thinks you have style and grace 😊
Absolutely love the paper on the studio wall!💖
You can fill the post card bowl with any beans (coffee?) or loose glass beads if you have them. The beans will help them stand up and hold them in place. For the lampshade, ask the thrift shops if they have any old torn or stained lampshades that they’re willing to sell cheap or give you. You can easily cover the frame with new fabric using a glue gun. I’ve made many lamp shades this way, it’s cheap and easy. Strip all the old fabric off the lamp shade. Make a paper pattern and use it to cut your fabric out (cut the fabric out about 1/2” bigger than the pattern). For fabric, recycle an old favorite piece of clothing, curtain or printed sheet. Old ivory or white pillow cases make great lining. Glue the lining onto the frame first, then glue the outside fabric on tucking in the raw edges. “Extra wide double fold bias tape” works great as trim on the top and bottom edges of the lamp shade. You can find it at any fabric store. Have fun!
I love love love the wallpaper. It really elevates the shop.
I love the dreamy, layered, floral dress!
You and I share the same birthday! I will always think of you on our day!❤
The wallpaper is gorgeous I love🤩
I really like your mural! Honestly, I would add crown molding to the gap at the top and turn it into a feature.😊
Check out Christine McConnell here on UA-cam, she has a whole video on buying wire frames or using the original frame and recovering vintage and antique lampshades. She is amazing! I followed her video step by step and I get so many compliments on my lampshade!❤
The wallpaper pattern is so beautiful, but I think it may be upside down 🤔
The mirror you thrifted is gorgeous 😍
There is such beautiful items in your thrift stores where you are ❤
ah I was thinking no, as you were cutting the wallpaper on the floor, yeah you've kind of gotta line it up on the wall and leave more at the top and bottom, stick it down and then trim off the excess at the top and bottom to account for uneven and off measurements of buildings that aren't square and perfect measurements. I was thinking maybe you could get a crown moulding trim to cover up the gap could look really nice.
I love the look the mural brings to the space. To rectify the gap at the top of the mural, you could frame the edges with wood . Make it look like a framed gallery piece. The gap would disappear
I haven't watched your videos for a while and I need to because they are so relaxing. Your wallpaper is beautiful. I love everything you pick out. You are beautiful and your style is stunning.
WOW, that is stunning!! Just a tip for future, I always do a "plumb line" to follow from the first piece since not many walls are straight!
the mirror is beautiful
Looking at the chair rail molding, if you can get something similar to match to cover the gap would look unified and as beautiful as if a professional would've done it.
Paint a narrow trim board white and tack it to the top, it will mask any problem.
The 🧱 paper is beautiful. Enjoying the content
No problem with the floral wall it is stunning even if you nothing the graphiis is so large and encompassing no one is looking at the edges but if you want you could just put a wood moulding strip along the top!! paint it white.. You already have a wainscot below and so makes architectural sence.. You are impressive for the work you do.. maybe little less coffee and more time for self... we will be here... :)
Oh my, the floral dress on you is my favorite of any you have ever wore! I don’t have instagram and would love to see the pics next time or in community tab. Also, the moon song was so beautiful, I’ve never heard it before. You also have a glow about you, your light is shining brighter then ever!🌞🌞🌞🌻🌻🌻🌻🌈
So interesting!!! Thank you, Elise, for sharing!!! 👌💖
Elise, the beige floral dress is soooo beautiful!!! Wow!
Yess thanks 🥰
That adds alot of debth to the room.
Fabulous Elsie.
I love that paper, Elise!!❤ However, I meant to catch you before you hung it and tell you about the "renter safe, peel & stick" wallpapers that are being sold.
Your intro was so beautiful with your beautiful spring garden!! 💜 🪻🌷🍂🍃🌷🪻
Looks like I am not the only one thinking the fix for the top of the wallpaper is a length of wood trim. Can't wait to see how your lampshades turn out! Take care🙂
🥰🥰
🌷🌷 What a beautiful mural it just gives your space a fresh new vibe. It’s so fun having your own space to create. I love all the pretty colors. Oooo…and that dress is gorgeous it would be pretty with a velvet jacket. 🩷💚
Well It looks like you have plenty of ideas about your beautiful wall paper. I love that dress and lace blouse... gorgeous..
Beautiful wallpaper! Beautiful clothes!
The wallpaper is absolutely beautiful! Love your style!!
I’ve always loved clear cut glass. So elegant and versatile.
Looks great! I noticed you bought some fringe for the lampshade, use sth like that for the top of the wall for a fun look or put a sting light flush against the wall and ceiling to cover up the gap? If it bothers you, I think the wallpaper was lovely
It's been raining for days here in Australia. After a long, hot summer it's finally cooling down.
Use crown moulding for the top. I love it all!
Love all your thrift stores choices. What fun!!!😊
Love the wall paper.
this video was so comforting. I'm in a really bad heartbreak (first day or like the 18th day but we talked yesterday for the last time and I had to hear that he doesn't love me anymore and doesn't think about me anymore - it was so hard to hear) and this video was comfort. thank you elise.
Your esthetic is so beautiful and charming… love your styling of everything ❤❤❤❤❤ inspiring
Trim board will work great.
Just so you find what you love and pick the things you love the most. As your beautiful flower mural is bringing your garden inside, your garden is on its complete bloom on most everything. And your shopping you found perfect things to add accents to accessorize 👍🌸🌼🌹🌷💐love to see your fresh bouquet 💐 you have there, and I noticed a little kitty has been peeking in on your work outside, she’ll scare the mice away, but hopefully she’s somebody’s but she’s like a wandering ivy,a little black kitty 🐈⬛.Thanks for giving us your take on thrifting day, the crystal piece is gorgeous💎❣️
Elise, maybe you can nail up a wooden frame piece in white across the top of the wall to cover gap.
Buy some picture framing, it’s sold by the metre and glue and nail it along the top and sides of the wallpaper, you could paint it first and then touch up the nail holes after you’ve put it up.
I love the wallpaper! Superb!! I join the many others in suggesting putting up a narrow trim along the top edge. Another option is to buy a wallpaper border that LOOKS like a narrow, wooden moulding! I have seen them on Amazon and Temu. Very easy and affordable!
Love your videos, Elise!! Thanks so much!! Greetings and best wishes, from BC, Canada. 😀❤⭐
The wall looks beautiful. Put a piece of crown molding over the gap.
Elise,If you cut the paper off the top a little to start the pattern a little further down ,you would have ended up seeing some of the birds and butterflies. The flowers are also upside down but still looks beautiful.
Cheapest solution would be ribbon or fabric trim hot glued over the gap. Vintage velvet ribbon would be lovely…. You could choose a color pulled from the mural. I love the paper and I think you did an impressive job by yourself! I love it!
The wallpaper looks beautiful! 💜 You could trim the section where you started to match the other side or use a little white paint. You did a great job!
So enjoy watching your videos. Your shop is lovely and the wallpaper is stunning.
I love the paper!!😊 ❤🇺🇸
Dresses are dreamy❤ Great job
I love the wallpaper! It's so beautiful! You work so hard at making your surroundings beautiful and serene. I hope you will get a vacation in the next year. I know you must put your money into your business, but it will pay off!
Another nice video for the weekend! I wish you a bit of sunshine in Denmark!
I looooove the paper! How about framing the paper with a pretty molding- like a picture frame☺️
Oh, the wallpaper is so pretty! I love the hummingbird part of it, too! Could you use the bird in your bathroom at home?🍃
Can't wait to see all of the blooms in the garden! They will be a sight to behold!🪻🌷🍃🌷🪻
Love the wallpaper.
Tha wallpaper looks beautiful. Well done! Watching your beautiful home, studio and especially your garden is so peaceful and enjoyable after a stressful work week.
Floral wallpaper 🔥
You have done a beautiful job on your garden and your shop is amazing ❤
You can get a stick-on polystyrene cornice to go over the top of the wall paper.
The wallpaper is beautiful
I love the wall paper it's beautiful
Elise, I’m so glad you got that beautiful round mirror. I was telling you through the TV “Get, Elise!!” 😁
🥰🥰
IMO Elise, that home needed you! You're reviving your yard beautifully & I'm sure the previous owner is smiling! I am & would be. 😊
What a lovely video, thanks so much Elise! Sorry I missed it last week but today I get to watch them back-to-back, which is twice as cozy. Next week I promise not to miss it. I love the mural! Such a beautiful feature.
Amazing and beautiful wallpaper. Love ❤️ it . Great choice and great job. 👏🏽
You are amazingly beautiful and you are so calming to watch. I’m a new subscriber and love binging your videos. And I love the wallpaper. It matches your vibe.
That wallpaper is amaizing ❤❤
Elise, you need to make sure the sun from the skylights doesn't fade your upholstery. I just looked at my brown leather hassock, and part of it has turned green! I should have rotated it. I need to check the fabric on my dining chairs. Fortunately, I have some extra fabric, but I'm not sure that it will be enough to recover a chair.
Looks beautiful Elise 😍 ❤
You are such a hard worker! You motivate me with every video that you bring out! Love your shop! If I wasn’t in the US, I would come visit your beautiful place! ❤
Thanks 🥰🥰
The floral mural looks sooo good! Good choise! Well done!
Maybe run a thin flower garland on the wall where the trim would go.
So many pretty items at the thrift shop. I'm quite envious. Our local thrift stores just aren't the same caliber as your thrift stores.
I love that dish..so pretty( crystal).💞🤗🐞🌺
May 2nd makes you a Taurus, all the beauty and luxury and the indulgence of the senses adds up now! You make the world a beautiful place :D I love the wallpaper! Love the dresses and it all looks so wonderful - well done! :D xXx
The wallpaper looks lovely! You can use some tape to hide the gap but it also depends if it bothers you so much. So sad those see those paintings in the thrift store. I love your interior design!
I love your videos, they are so calming. Your creativity shines in everything you do. The floral wallpaper also looks great!
