Arya realized Nymeria isn't meant to be tamed, mirroring the "that's not me" conversation Arya had with Ned in S1. A fitting double entendre in a fitting moment.

I don't think Sansa necessarily wanted to be in charge. She seemed very pleased to see Jon crowned King in the North. I think she just wants Jon to consult her and take her seriously... which he very much does not.
@@ianvera4299 I disagree. Sansa has always been a picture perfect princess in terms of what a Medieval lord would want for a daughter: Enthusiastic about arranged marriage, beautiful, graceful, naturally suited to leadership and shit. We all want to do the things we're good at. It's why Arya was giving Sansa shit when they all reunited at Winterfell, especially getting used to John being king.
@@Ohitswilly Sansa WAS that stereotypical highborn lady wanting that fairy tale life, then reality hit. Sansa understands that the real players of the game do not play fair and that this medieval perfect life is a illusion. Sansa has shown she wants the best for the North. Sure she struggles with power, but in the end, she fought for Jon not against.
There are a lot of callbacks to scenes and dialogue in earlier seasons. Jon slamming Littlefinger into the wall/Ned doing the same, Arya saying "that's not me" to Ned/saying "that's not you" to Nymeria, the overhead shot of Jon struggling out of the crush of bodies during the Battle of the Bastards/the overhead shot of Danerys being lifted by the freed slaves of Mereen. ... and there will be more!
12:07 She is irritating as hell, I agree. I hate it too because Indira Varma is a really good actress and they combined Ellaria and Arianne(Oberyn & Doran's sister) into one character. In the books, Arianne is the one who wants blood for Oberyn's death where as Ellaria is a kind person who does not want war. Arianne is also a much more clever woman than Cersei. I do hope you read the books as Dorne plays a much bigger role than the show has portrayed. 15:06 It is said he is still rowing to this day :P
The great Olenna Tyrell prodding and poking the Foreign Usurper to be a dragon, which more or less amounts to telling an impetuous person to commit mass murder. While the Usurper threatens Varys with blind loyalty or death. And Tyrion practically begging her not to do what she's been doing in Yunkai and Mereen. Oh the joy.
Right? I feel like, in the wake of the Mad King, the absolute LAST thing anyone should be doing is encouraging Dany to be more murderous. Not because she could go insane herself, but because it's awful PR. One of her biggest challenges is convincing people to give the Targaryens another chance after the Mad King did such a bad job. In order to accomplish that, she needs to be as different as possible. That means NOT burning people alive. Olenna telling Dany to "be a dragon" is honestly LUNACY here. Tyrion's the only one with his head on straight (at least in this regard). He knows what a bad impression it's gonna give the people of Westeros, if she's running around burning random people.
Euron is more horrifying in the books to be honest. They really tamed him on the show. In the books his crew had their tongues removed and the decks of his ship were drenched in blood.
Should Sansa have questioned Jon in front of their Bannerman? No, however her questions were valid as well as her concerns. Sansa doesn’t know Dany all she knows is her family and how they murdered her uncle and grandfather you cannot blame her for being suspicious. And as for her “wanting power“ it was never about ousting Jon, it was more about keeping her family safe. Him leaving her in power is a sense of control, something she has never had but she never wanted it in place of her brother. She would choose Jon being King in the North and being home over her being Queen in the North while Jon gets murdered at Dragon Stone. Sansa is cold that’s true but she’s not cruel nor is she evil, she just wants her family to be safe and in her mind no place is safer than Winterfell
Also if Jon's King in the North, that eventually opens her up to being married off again. Realistically that's what happens to women in Westeros, if they're not in a position of power. They have very limited choices about what they do in their lives. They can be wh---es, they can be the Lady/Queen of their area, a very small percentage can become knights or fighters (which isn't going to happen for Sansa; that's not her), or they can become chrones with some kind of valuable trade. If they don't do ANY of those things, they are functionally not contributing to the world - which many would see as a big problem. Westeros is all about keeping to your place, and contributing to the good of all. They don't believe in the individualistic, do-what-makes-you-happy lifestyle that our modern world does. They believe in honour and duty. If Jon had stayed King in the North, it was only a matter of time before someone started pressuring him to marry her away again. And I bet she wouldn't have wanted that. Her holding the ultimate authority means no one can ever do that to her again.
@@LordofFullmetal right! And as Jon himself said they need to be making allies. Danaerys said in 6×10 “the best way to make allies is through marriage” and as much as we would love to believe Jon wouldn’t offer Sansa up for a political marriage, chances are if it would’ve gotten him the men to fight the Night King? she would’ve been married off again.
@@NyikoDoris The best prize Jon has to marry off is the King in the North, or, at worst, the Warden of the North, not Sansa.
