I have been purchasing stationery for the past 3 years and I have too much stuff. This is where a lot of my money is going. I plan on retiring in 2025, so I am starting to cut back. I am doing a low buy year for 2025. I am going to be more conscientious of where I am spending money. I need to be a better steward of my money. Good luck to all of us🎉

Sugar is major influence for inflammation and it’s not good for any of us! I’m 42 and feel it may be midlife as well due to all the craziness I’ve been enduring! Also with the way the world is, our environmental issues and foods and all the chaos, we hardly think for ourselves anymore, every one has ADHD and so on…planning and journaling is helping me for sure. It does suck that I have spent way too much between digital things for planning and now back to old school but old school is where I’m staying! I’m definitely asking for forgiveness on the frivolous spending when it could have went to more important things but now I am keeping my faith high, going less with the tech and digital crap, going to memory keeping, journal and be more aware throughout each day gifted to me from God and hold on to it all! I feel awful for what I have spent on in recent times so definitely backing off all of it besides me usual stationary now❤it’s brought me some peace back! I am making it a point to start feeling bored again and clearing my mind!
Love this! I bought so many random stickers this year and planners that I decided 2025 was going to be the year of using my stuff. With that said I kept one sub and will only stick to 1-2 shops.
I am cutting back on watching so many UA-cam videos. I watch flip throughs and right away I have to have everything. I have so many sticker books, I could probably make 50 planners and not run out. I’m still going to watch content, but not buy new planner stuff. I really like your no buy plan. After all, you can’t take it with you! I’m 72, how much more do I realistically need? I will still be watching your channel.
There are endless flip throughs and hauls. I'm seeing dozens of valentine shop with me videos already! We definitely can't take it with us and it isn't what gives us purpose and meaning while we're here! I wish you the best of luck with your goal to not buy in 2025! 💖
Such a relatable post. I just am guilty if not even more. I have so much stuff cause I’m like oh no I don’t wanna use them yet, idk how to use these, oooh I want to try that layout etc. It’s like why buy it? You buy it to use it. So I will try to make it work. Work with what I have and try to make old things work. Re-dating things, whiting out headings I don’t need and using labels I have or taking paper and gluing it, etc. all these things can be used. I am going to force myself to use the things I have bought and stored. Find a purpose or give things away. I am excited to actually use my stickers and post it’s and pens and notepads and page flags 😂. We’re doing it this year!! Watch those videos and say I have enough stuff- If I buy this I won’t even use it. Use what I have first. I can watch and not want. I have enough. I am enough. I am creative enough to make what I have work!!!
Great way to focus on your spending making a list. I started doing a small shop list so that I am more aware of my spending and I am going to limit my spending as well. Thank you for sharing! I do the same with Dutch bros only go on sticker day it is my treat for the month. I don’t think it’s extreme when we have family our focus is different and it’s good to try to limit our miscellaneous spending. 🙋🏻♀️

A pair of earrings I bought was stolen from USPS mail. They cut out the bottom of the package this December, then still sent it all the way to delivery. It’s turning me off from buying stuff online in general too. It does make me want to spend less money
For your ‘no buy’ do what I do…do you WANT it or NEED it? If you want it it’s not necessary to buy it. If you need it, look around at home to see if anything could stand in for that item before you buy it 😀 It works 😀
I am doing a no buy for January to March and then a low buy for the rest of the year. This will be for ALL discretionary spending… so craft supplies, planner supplies, stationary, clothing, make up, books, etc.
I also have long haul Covid, so I believe you 100%! I've gone back and forth between low buy and no buy this year, but might need to just bite the bullet and do no buy, because low buy turns into just one more thing for me....

Long haul covid is very real. My bestie is a LNP. She now uses oxygen as long haul covid wrecked her lungs forcing her to stop practicing. We’re in our early 40s. I’ve tried no sugar too and Halloween sent me spiraling and now I feel addicted. I’ve cut coffee out completely to help my body stop the continuous cravings. Baby steps. Great video. ❤

I’m doing a low spend Jan, no spend rest 2025 for planner and stationary 😬 I have one exception being on an affiliate program, I could never not buy because I love this brand so much. I love some of the other items you listed and I think I need to incorporate them too #muglife Lastly, my kiddos are joining me on the no buy frivolous stuff, such as the dollar spot at Target kinda stuff, all those little $1 - $10 little things that add up. Our goal is a trip to Disney and I feel like saving these little buys can really help us make the trip more rewarding for all of us! 😊 I’m excited and it will be fun to be on this journey with you and others.

Newish subscriber! I am planning to do a no-buy/low-buy year. I admit I have a stationery problem and way too much of everything. I am not purchasing anything in that department including pens (which is also another weakness of mine). Also, no beauty products unless I run out of an essential item. I’ve had the same problem with Amazon. I ordered a pack of electric toothbrush brushes. The outside packaging was fine. Inside, the pack of toothbrushes were opened and it looked like someone poured shampoo in it and then packed it for shipment. Not the first time I’ve had this type of problem. Done! But,yeah, I’m going to join you in a no spend year. Let’s do this!

Our Amazon Prime membership ends in April, and we‘re not renewing or buying from them as soon as it runs out. I’m thinking this may be the year of people boycotting Amazon in a big way. For me the Netflix doc was the push I needed.

I’m doing a no buy 2025 too. I’m done with excessive spending and using up my supplies. I’m putting away money and have started a wishlist for 2026. Also Amazon has become a joke. Half of our deliveries are delivered to neighbors and on our ring cam we see our drivers tossing expensive items from the street to our house and landing on the path leading to our house. My no buy 2025 is a fast unto my Lord. He is keeping me accountable.

I’ve sectioned off certain months as no buy some as super low buy and then some a low buy.. because I really want to tackle some debt and my crafty stash could open a store (not kidding) I really want to be successful and stop impulse purchases across the board 😊
Yup, no buy here also. Only what you absolutely need, I have done declutter last summer. From daughters room only came five 200 liters plastic bags junk; old school books etc. So, now reings are super tight.😅😅😅And for Christmas presents I accept only gift cards.🤔
I heard where an Amazon driver apparently quit and dropped all his deliveries off in the woods, out in the middle of nowhere. The Police found them. It sounds like your experience with Amazon is like my experience with Walmart. When Walmart has to ship my items I may or may not receive it, or may get the wrong item, or FedEx may rip the bag open and help their self to part of my order. Every month when I order groceries I have to call Walmart customer service, because there is a problem. The price I have to pay for not having a car. I’m in, I have too many Happy Planners! Plan on using what I have and not buying any more. I definitely need an accountability partner! 😊
I think people are doing a no buy year is because the cost of living has skyrocketed a lot. Rent is very high I remember back in the 1980s and 1990s even the early 2000s people would eat out a lot and party. Diner's and restaurants used to be packed and movie theaters, but now you only see one person in a restaurant now. There was a time when people who owned a business who had to do a no spend year because they were a boss but now regular people are doing it now. I am going to become a landlord and own apartments and in California I am going to charge $700/month for a 1 bedroom apartment, $750/month for a 2 bedroom apartment, and $800 /month for a 3 bedroom apartment and in Florida I will charge $550/month for a one bedroom apartment, and $ $600/month for a 2 bedroom apartment in Florida because for people to be doing a no spend year they must really be struggling so I will help them out.
I REALLY REALLY want to do a no buy, but I know myself. YOU know me... I'll probably buy things for you just to feed my addiction. HAHAHA. I AM toying with a "smaller buy" type of year though. I just need to really think about what parameters I would place on myself.

Oh my goodness. Are you in the Atlanta Metro area?? This has been my entire holiday season purchase experience dealing with Amazon. I cancelled my prime and am closing my account due to the absolute gross negligence. My deal breaker was receiving a used Hobo Weeks. I’m done. I feel you sister. I’m going into a no buy this next season of my life and if I have to purchase, it won’t be with Amazon.

I have one purchased Aloe Vera plant and one Christmas Cactus, both purchased in 2019. I have two Christmas Cactus babies from the original. I have a Spider plant (anyone else want a baby Spider plant?) gifted from a friend plus three more repotted and two English ivy plants harvested out of the yard. Spending can be minimalized.
I'm done with Amazon as well. I'm fine with used stuff if I know im buying it used and paying less. 1 I bought a used shelf from Amazon saying it just had an open box. It was completely broken. 2 I bought a book that was listed as new but had a pack of those thin batteries in it with battery acid everywhere. 3 I got a open bubble mailer with nothing in it. 4 they shipped sun glasses with a diamond plate knife sharpener together in a bubble wrap mailer 🤦♀️🤦♀️Not to mention how they bill makes it impossible to keep track of what I have spent and what has or hasn't hit my bank account yet.
I am doing a no buy because I have to pay off all debt (car, credit accounts) by July 2025 because I will be retiring and losing 2/3 of my income! I have plenty of blank notebooks, crafting supplies, fabric, patterns, pens, ink, stickers, etc. for all of my hobbies, so the only things I will purchase will be things that get used up, like adhesive, white-out, etc. I have enough to last me for years to come, and the bonus is I will have more time to enjoy them and create gifts for others!
Having a midlife crisis for the last 20 years is so relatable. 😂😂😂 I’m torn. I want to buy while I’m working because it makes me feel better about working, but if I don’t buy, I’ll have more money when I quit. So maybe I’ll do a less buy 2025? 😂
I haven't had any issues with used items, but you can basically return anything. I did turn off my Amazon Prime for this year. I've done it before for months. I would rather just go to a real store. People are reverting back to brick and mortar and pen and paper. Yay!

Just my two cents, but I’ve seen other UA-camrs do this and it breaks down quickly. I admire your initiative, but you might consider a low buy or taking it month by month. One day you might decide that you really want a donut, you might consider how will you feel if you buy it, will there be guilt because you strictly said no buy, versus, I’ll save certain things for special occasions or if I’ve given the purchase considerable thought. I’m here to support either way.😊
I definitely understand where you're coming from and it's a great perspective! I do however think feeling guilt for breaking the rules is sort of the point. And special occasions are a bit of a slippery slope. We (as a society) can create a lot of wiggle room and loopholes, especially to not feel any heavy feelings and I would definitely say those make me feel worse and unaccomplished. I still have the special occasion days, like Dutch Bros sticker day for example but I'm really looking forward to exercising willpower and making changes to be an example for my kids. Definitely a great comment though and I appreciate the support! 🧡✨

@ohreallyalana Thank you! I need to set up some no buy categories like you have. I know that stationery items and sugary foods are big ones for me. One of my goals is to declutter my home this year, and another is to get healthy. Both physical and mental wellness are high on my list next year!

Im doing project pan 2025! I just uploaded a couple videos for December and January products to my channel, hoping it keeps me consistent and accountable. I too have a mug buying problem. I need to make a no buy list too! Good Idea.
I’m doing a no buy 2025 too. I’m done with excessive spending and using up my supplies. I’m putting away money and have started a wishlist for 2026. Also Amazon has become a joke. Half of our deliveries are delivered to neighbors and on our ring cam we see our drivers tossing expensive items from the street to our house and landing on the path leading to our house. My no buy 2025 is a fast unto my Lord. He is keeping me accountable.

I just went thru my stash and storage in my home today in the first. I’ll probably no buy too. I am trying to save and already see how much I save when I do not spend on Amazon before pay day.
I’m doing a weird version of the no buy year.. I’ve sectioned off certain months as no buy some as super low buy and then some a low buy.. because I really want to tackle some debt and my crafty stash could open a store (not kidding) I really want to be successful and stop impulse purchases across the board 😊

Yup, no buy here also. Only what you absolutely need, I have done declutter last summer. From daughters room only came five 200 liters plastic bags junk; old school books etc. So, now reings are super tight.😅😅😅And for Christmas presents I accept only gift cards.🤔

I heard where an Amazon driver apparently quit and dropped all his deliveries off in the woods, out in the middle of nowhere. The Police found them.
It sounds like your experience with Amazon is like my experience with Walmart. When Walmart has to ship my items I may or may not receive it, or may get the wrong item, or FedEx may rip the bag open and help their self to part of my order.
Every month when I order groceries I have to call Walmart customer service, because there is a problem. The price I have to pay for not having a car.

I think people are doing a no buy year is because the cost of living has skyrocketed a lot. Rent is very high I remember back in the 1980s and 1990s even the early 2000s people would eat out a lot and party. Diner's and restaurants used to be packed and movie theaters, but now you only see one person in a restaurant now. There was a time when people who owned a business who had to do a no spend year because they were a boss but now regular people are doing it now. I am going to become a landlord and own apartments and in California I am going to charge $700/month for a 1 bedroom apartment, $750/month for a 2 bedroom apartment, and $800 /month for a 3 bedroom apartment and in Florida I will charge $550/month for a one bedroom apartment, and $ $600/month for a 2 bedroom apartment in Florida because for people to be doing a no spend year they must really be struggling so I will help them out.
I REALLY REALLY want to do a no buy, but I know myself. YOU know me... I'll probably buy things for you just to feed my addiction. HAHAHA. I AM toying with a "smaller buy" type of year though. I just need to really think about what parameters I would place on myself.

Oh my goodness. Are you in the Atlanta Metro area?? This has been my entire holiday season purchase experience dealing with Amazon. I cancelled my prime and am closing my account due to the absolute gross negligence. My deal breaker was receiving a used Hobo Weeks. I’m done. I feel you sister. I’m going into a no buy this next season of my life and if I have to purchase, it won’t be with Amazon.

I have one purchased Aloe Vera plant and one Christmas Cactus, both purchased in 2019. I have two Christmas Cactus babies from the original. I have a Spider plant (anyone else want a baby Spider plant?) gifted from a friend plus three more repotted and two English ivy plants harvested out of the yard. Spending can be minimalized.
I'm done with Amazon as well. I'm fine with used stuff if I know im buying it used and paying less. 1 I bought a used shelf from Amazon saying it just had an open box. It was completely broken. 2 I bought a book that was listed as new but had a pack of those thin batteries in it with battery acid everywhere. 3 I got a open bubble mailer with nothing in it. 4 they shipped sun glasses with a diamond plate knife sharpener together in a bubble wrap mailer 🤦♀️🤦♀️Not to mention how they bill makes it impossible to keep track of what I have spent and what has or hasn't hit my bank account yet.
I bought a book set from Amazon new and it was missing like 30 pages. Never again.
Agreed! I shop used items as well but being charged for brand new and deceived that it isn't used is a whole other thing.
Just a thought. Why not go to the local library, instead of buying second hand. There is also an library app if you like kindle type books.
I live out in the country quite a ways away from the library but we do use Libby. We buy books secondhand to build our homeschool library.

I am doing a no buy because I have to pay off all debt (car, credit accounts) by July 2025 because I will be retiring and losing 2/3 of my income! I have plenty of blank notebooks, crafting supplies, fabric, patterns, pens, ink, stickers, etc. for all of my hobbies, so the only things I will purchase will be things that get used up, like adhesive, white-out, etc. I have enough to last me for years to come, and the bonus is I will have more time to enjoy them and create gifts for others!

Amazon had a huge Failed holiday season.
I haven't had any issues with used items, but you can basically return anything. I did turn off my Amazon Prime for this year. I've done it before for months. I would rather just go to a real store. People are reverting back to brick and mortar and pen and paper. Yay!

Just my two cents, but I’ve seen other UA-camrs do this and it breaks down quickly. I admire your initiative, but you might consider a low buy or taking it month by month. One day you might decide that you really want a donut, you might consider how will you feel if you buy it, will there be guilt because you strictly said no buy, versus, I’ll save certain things for special occasions or if I’ve given the purchase considerable thought. I’m here to support either way.😊
I definitely understand where you're coming from and it's a great perspective! I do however think feeling guilt for breaking the rules is sort of the point. And special occasions are a bit of a slippery slope. We (as a society) can create a lot of wiggle room and loopholes, especially to not feel any heavy feelings and I would definitely say those make me feel worse and unaccomplished. I still have the special occasion days, like Dutch Bros sticker day for example but I'm really looking forward to exercising willpower and making changes to be an example for my kids. Definitely a great comment though and I appreciate the support! 🧡✨
