I made this for my average size 3 month old and it's about 2 inches too wide and an inch too long on her. What should the final dimensions be? I used the same yarn and 4.5mm hook
+Gabriela Valdez you can chain 3 and join. Or you can chain 4 and place all of your DC into the 4th chain from hook. You can also create your magic ring like an open knot. This will be easier to use. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸 🌸
12-14 inches is a good size for a newborn hat. You might crochet smaller than me, so if you’re hat is not in that range go up a hook size. Thank you for watching and commenting.

How would you edit this pattern for a smaller G hook?
You could use a larger pattern for the size you want to make. So adult might work up to teen, teen might work up to child. You’d have to experiment.
