You sir are an inspiration and an amazing teacher. I have learned a lot from your nutrition, workout, and bo staff videos. It helps me keep up my studies since I currently can't afford to keep going to a school
What I love about these is you do a single thing, really well, without unnecessary repetition, but still managing to teach beginning, intermediate and final points.
hey master i was serching for these lessons sinces i was 12 omg the time has pass and now i have a family and you know Job, sons and all had got me into other cores but now i saw these viseo i almost cry not kidding cuz it remember my teenager days when i practice with my staff and try to do these but never new how to do it thank you was very nice moment watching it and i will begin to practice again once again thank you :)

of all the youtube videos i watched for bo spinning training, yours are the best, you teach so well, you slow it down for the beginners and do step by step and most dont. Your videos are the most helpful an have helped me alot. thanks !
amazing help, thank you! this helped me so much getting the under arm spin! have you ever thought for tutorials to have two different colours on the end of your bo? makes it easy to see which end comes over or round etc.. great tutorials, they have helped me loads!
Respect to you Master you have ignited a passion in me . I have seen lot of videos of yours .....trust me you are a passion for billions . I definetly know my health with improve by following each step of yours . I bow to you once again Master.
I want to say that you're an incredible inspiration....AND a very good educator - you break your lessons down into perfectly accessible sections AND it is clear, plus succinct. THANK YOU!
I have been training about 4 hours per day for 3 days, and i can vouch that your technique and workout really work, the staff gets dropped occasionally but thats a matter of time and effort as you said! I am learning with a 5 foot bo staff(the competition ones) as thats the one i bought when i wanted to learn due to space in my club. Thank you. Thanks a lot
I cant do that moves with staff ´cause I am too much inept... I like more fight without weapons. ( I do karate) But these videos are awesome. Kung fu is very interesting and beautiful martial art. I would like to learn combat with staff. And greetings from Czech Republic. The whole world watching you :-D
Hello master. I'm new here. And I'm really enjoying the classes, and I hope I'm doing well.. it's maybe 4 days and here I'm in your fourth video. Thank you sir.
Ty for teaching me, my family is very impressed with my staff skills. I’m extremely fast which is bad if you have rubber grips on your bo because you will make indents in it if you have long nails and are not a pro!
dude its a trick he won't tell you how to actually do it ,he just lets you struggle till you find that shit out by your self , notice how your right hand is on top of the staff when it's under your armpit , now try grab it from under the staff
Jake, my man... I was planing to start with bo staff by myself, and am planing to stay in that art. I find your videos most informative and very good for fast learning. Much respect. Will let you know how I progress :)
I would like to see more videos that go in depth on Tiger, Mantis, Snake, Hua, and Hsing Yi kung fu. What I mean is do something like 10 videos or more on one thing in paticular such as Hsing Yi so one could get the most out of what your teaching (please). Also, good instruction on the bo staff. :)
Put the techniques to use in something she can see right away. I do fire twirling (Just started recently) and these Vids of Jakes are giving me ideas for some moves. If you get your niece started with maybe an LED staff, then it's something cool she can show off, and when she's older it's a trick she can choose to continue if she wishes. But then again, you can go the self defense route with it too. Up to her really.
Mr. Mace I'm learning what you are teaching here not to learn martial arts but to get the upper body exercise. I thought about upper body exercise for a while; something one could do without weights but still get a quick and effective burn. I also have a niece who is..."bouncy" in the tummy area. I want to impart this on her now (she is 9) so that she has a safe fall back for when she begins to care about her image. I think its a good idea. Any drawbacks come to mind for this plan?
Hey Brianxsmallwood! Good idea. That's coming up! We are going to have 10 video packages that will focus on a single area more in depth! Glad you enjoyed the staff vid!
I'm having difficulty with this spin. When I keep my grip tight, the staff doesn't have enough space to arc. If I spin the staff so that it has enough arc, then my grip is loosened and the staff irritates my thumb knuckles. Is the staff supposed to connect with knuckles as it spins or is this just a flexibility issue?
Are we supposed to have a fist grip or just tucked between thumb and index finger joint? I'm having difficulty in attaining a fluid smooth motion as i frequent bump in armpit ... I've learnt video1 and video 2 well
Is it right that while moving "down", the bo needs to slip out of my firm grip so that I merely hold it between thumb and index finger? What's the proper technique for the "down" movement?
So THAT'S how it's done! I always though they twirled it from hand to hand like in the first video before switching to the other side and hoping they don't get hit.
Hey Jake! Been learning a lot from your videos but apparently not able to master this no 4 technique. For some reason the movement is just not fluid enough.
When I do this I have to let the staff rotate in one of my hands at a couple points. Am I doing it wrong? Can this be done with an unyielding grip in both hands?
Me: (watches bo staff 1) "yay i learnt a move." (Watches video 2) "wow i learnt 2. Im going to learn one more." (Watches video 3) "this is tooo hard! Let me try a easier one." (Sees video 4.) "Please be easy." (After watching video 4!) "Are u kidding me"? (Maybe i need more practise.) Lol

Same here.
Yes haha. I've healed up nicely from all my skull impacts! Stay safe but dropping the staff and hitting yourself is the name of the game!

Hey, are those the vibram boots? Do you find them comfortable? I've heard some bad stories about them.
I can't do it

it was very hard to do it but i guess i got it now. thanks you are the best teacher.
Wow Mashallah ur so good in teaching, and very talented thnx budddy
really cool looking spin
I found this extremely difficult to follow due to it being reversed if you are standing in front of it, either that or I'm just stupid lol.

Hey Jake , can you please explain what you're doing with your hands in this spin. As in positioning with thumbs as you dip down and then spin.

I had learned this spin by myself but just with a little of difference that i don't spin through underarms. This can be another spin for me.
Thanks for the tutorial. My query is while spinning with both hands wrists exerts presure on pinky finger side. Am I doing wrong or is it so?
