Editors note: I say that there's 109 Pokemon, when I meant to say 809. Go figure that I didn't catch that.
There are going to be a good amount of characters who unfortunately will not become playable characters in Smash.
But it's still interesting to think about what kind of move sets these characters can have if they were playable, so that's why I'm here today.

Actually, you chose the perfect trio of Pokémon for THAT triple finish. In Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness (A spinoff for the gamecube) you can obtain the three Jotho starters with those moves, meaning that a Totodile with Hydro Cannon and a Bayleef with Frenzy Plant are 100% legal even to this day.
Scrolled down to point out this exact thing, as insanely late to the party as I am. Nevertheless, glad to see I'm not the only one who knows this! :)
This is very in-depth, but I don’t exactly see how these three would work in terms of their game plan. Totidile especially. If he’s slow, short ranged, and light I don’t see a reason to even use him over the others. If anything I would of made typhlosion the the one with middling speed, bayleaf the slowest, and totidile the fastest. That and give totidile the best kill power. The idea would be to start with typhlosion and get the most out of his specials to rack up damage, use bayleaf to be a zoner, and totidile be the fast, short ranged glass cannon end the stock

I think the point is to just use your favorite Pokémon of the three.
I think you limited yourself a bit too much by having the specials be too similar to the way they are in the games. Fly doesn't take two turns, Agility doesn't increase speed, Water Gun doesn't even do damage, you can stray from the canon.
I think it was good that it was faithful to the games, though I see your point!

There's one Pokemon I think doesn't quite fit the formula but could make a really fun "joke" character, but it could be a fisherman with 6 MAGIKARP. For now I'll just focus on magikarp as a standalone. I don't have time to post a whole moveset but I'll give you the cool move I came up with. Splash is very interesting and will be the neutral b. It acts like a combo move with a set knockback but you have to try to chase the di, and the random directions. If you can land 10 in a row, it kills. Down b is flail. Magikarp starts flailing in place but the knockback it does is instead based on YOUR percent. If you're at a really high percent because you're getting hit a lot, flail is a really good punish move. The knockback direction in this move is random too. Up b is just bounce which works like D3's, and side b is actually dragon rage because there was an event magikarp that got dragon rage. There's not much else except that maybe some of its normals and aerials sorta pull from moves it learns as gyarados. Up air would be Aqua tail, fair would be ice fang, which has a chance to freeze.

I remember grinding that.

I found someone suggested Darkrai from Pokemon.
BrawlFan1 technically did do Paratroopa, as part of Koopa Troopa's up special.
If I could suggest a different use of the Final Smash, it could be where Bayleef sends the Frenzy Plant to strike a fixed location in front of itself, and if someone is in the center of it, they get stuck and slowly take damage from the vines. Meanwhile, while Typhlosion charges Blast Burn, Totodile fires a rapid barrage of Hydro Cannons at the opponent, dealing large damage, then they finish it off with the four pillars from Blast Burn’s animation form into one large pillar on top of the Frenzy Plant, and of course, the opponent, who takes massive damage and gets launched skyward. Meanwhile, it would say the usual “Take that! Triple Finish!” and “It’s super effective!”, but the text and text box would be in the style of HeartGold and SoulSilver.
How have I never found this series until now!? Not only are your ideas so creative (regardless of this being based on a pre-existing character concept), but you're clearly knowledgeable about both Pokemon and Smash, you include your own artwork to illustrate the moves, and it's so ridiculously detailed! Legitimately impressed in every way. I fully plan to binge this entire series tonight :)

Not the trio I was expecting from this. I think Feraligatr would have been a better heavy, with Quilava as the medium, and Chikorita as the light. Quil would probably be lighter though with the best land speed and a mix of light damage moves that can inflict DoTs if used properly and then a series of massive hits from its smash attacks, up air and back air. Gator boy being a hefty grappler with huge moves and end lag. Maybe throw surf on it for the forward momentum as a side b? Like squirtle's up b, but with horizontal movement that follows terrain and has a downward arc in the air.
I've got lots of ideas I guess, but I love these videos of your regardless of my personal thoughts. Good job on that bud.

Haunter Neutral Special is Shadow Ball
A basic projectile
Side Special is Lick
If you press the button then let go it will do an upwards lick sending the foe upwards however if you hold the button it does it forwards sending the opponent back a little bit and paralysing them
Up Special is Shadow Punch
A basic rising uppercut
Haunter will also be immune to low hitting moves
Banette Neutral Special is Shadow claw
A chargeable attack that basically mimics kirbs side Special but without the self damage, fire or being as strong
Side Special is Hex
A semi spammable attack sending small flames at the opponent this also does more damage the higher Banettes percent
Up Special is Trick
A basic teleport however is the opponent is above banette they will swap positions
Cofagrigus Neutral Special is Sand Tomb
A whirlpool made of sand will spawn in front of Cofagrigus and will trap anything in it dealing a lot of damage
Side Special is Toxic Spikes
Cofagrigus will launch a bunch of toxic spikes on the floor there can be 2 out at a time and they deal flinching and poison damage
Up Special is Psychic
Cofagrigus will envelope itself in Psychic energy and fling itself upwards dealing heavy damage if it hits the opponent
Also, many, MANY Alternative costumes for the Hex Maniacs, based around all the region variants...

Actually, totodile chikorita and cyndaquil can be obtained in Pokémon XD with the super moves. Only in this game though.

What if Magikarp was in smash?
I'm dead serious right now. Magikarp starts every battle pathetically being low on literally every stat(exept for the fact that he has a small hitbox. That's a good trait) but can fill up a meter to evolve into Gyarados who is EXTREMELY powerful.
if that were the case every pokemon fighter would have to evolve
Togepi deserves to be given its own moveset for Smash. It is a popular baby Pokémon and one of my favorites.

You know what would I like? Either a Team Rocket Grunt (with Meowth in the team, as the most iconic Team Rocket Pokémon, plus another one, yeah, just 2, maybe a Unova poison type Pokémon) or a Rival (with Rhydon in the team, being the first Pokémon to be ever invented, plus another 2) character.

I think the Final Smash should’ve been a mix of them using Fire Pledge, Water Pledge and Grass Pledge and the meme could be Triple Pledge

Woah! This is was pretty good! Whilst Pichu is the Gen 2 representative this would be really cool. Out of the Chikorita line, Bayleef is my favourite so I approve of this automatically. Thyplosion is also one of my favourite Fire Types so he'd be pretty cool(My favourite is Infernape though). And since I've watched the anime, Totodile would also be cool to see, ESPECIALLY since this Totodile also behaves similarly to Ash's.
I absolutely love how much research you put into this. It must have taken so much time and effort, along with the drawings. This series deserves more attention!
I have a few ideas for potential what if's too:
1. What if Tails joined Smash(Maybe instead
2. What if Sora joined Smash?
3. What if Adeleine and Ribbon joined Smash?
4. What if Infernape joined Smash(Unpopular opinion, but I actually like Infernape over Lucario. I think he's too overrated and Infernape should've taken his spot in Brawl, as a Gen 4 representative)

I'm a little late to the party, but since the Pokemon Trainer currently has the same elements in the same locations, I think having a grass small, fire medium, and water large. It might get classified as more of an Echo fighter because of that change though

Well... in Pokemon XD you can actually get Johto starters that have their 'elemental hyper beam' while being in their first stage
I would have liked the second generation starters to be a costume. Totodile would work really well with Squirtles animations, same with Bayleef and Ivysaur. Typhlosion is my favorite Pokemon, and also would work well with Charizards animations, so I just would have really liked that

8:40 the most important part of the video.
I have an idea for the final smash. It’ll be a cinematic where gold throws three poke balls in the air. Three roses will then sound off. Suddenly, large blasts of lightning will hit the stage, followed by a jet of, them it’ll end off with a super heavy downpour of rain. This final smash represents the legendary beasts. The lightning was Raikou, Fire was Entei, and Rain was Suicune
I love this and would have chosen the way it is there or swap totodile with Ferraligatr and typhlosion with cyndaquil

I’m my headcanon Lyra is basically a god so if I were in charge of smash I’d add her alone (like bayleef here just stronger) and purposely make her OP for casual play while keeping her top tier (#1 on tier lists hopefully) but not OP so she doesn’t get banned. Her final smash could just OHKO everyone on the stage (if I was being realistic it’d be like frenzy plant in the video but more damage bc one attack not 3)

my biggest complaint is that the trio' evolutionary stages are the same as red's team. i would swap em around, with chikorita as the first stage, quilava as the second, and feralagator as the third. which, odly enough, still fits your movesets quite nicely, and the speed and power makes a lot more sense with this team as well. it also gives chikorita a much smaller hitbox as well.
That really changes the type. Doesn't each Smash fighter have a type they're weak against? Are each palette supposed to be matched?

The only think I would do different is for Thyphosion is silly enough: Have some punches in the kit as Gen 2 Thyphosion could learn some including Thunder Punch (I actually remember doing this in the fighting type gym ^^) which is Smash could be a side smash and have electrical properties with a chance to stun

Fat) characters are a “few” more hard to munch them... and it may also “breaks” todolide's maw while doing it... or just ended up feeling dizzy for a few seconds...

Could you do Braixen as a standalone Pokémon? They were a fighter in Pokken and greninja is already in the game. Also for one of the Pokémon trainers, could you do one with eevee evolutions? Sylveon, leafeon, and jolteon could be interesting.
