Yes! This is the best thing I stumbled into I’m a musician myself and this is one of my favorite bands. It’s so great seeing them get some recognition as amazing musicians
What I like about them is that they have some many different genres in one band. This song is poppy, Summertime Gladness is funky, and Man of the Year is heavy. Songs where he shows off his vocals more are Here Comes the Winner and Variation.
regarding your comment about the sampled drums, I'd strongly recommend the track unboxing on their song "Young Robot" by URM Academy. The mix was done by Kris Crummett and, as far as I'm aware, they don't actually use any samples for the drums (thought my understanding is much less than your own)
DGD is amazing!!! Tilian is the clean vocalist and shines on a lot of their tracks. I suggest checking out their songs "Inspire The Liars", "Son Of Robot", or "Prisoner"
@@justuswilson9137 right? Dude, Tilian is a beast for real! Idk if you've ever seen them live but I've seen DGD and Tilian doing his solo stuff both live and it's out of this world!

If you ever want to read some true rock band drama, read their history on wiki. Every single iteration of the band over the last 15 or so years has been amazing in their own way. You should really check out some of their older songs so we could see you comparison to their older music. Maybe "Lemon Meringue Tie" with their original vocalist Jonny Craig (who also has the voice of an angel) and then "Uneasy Hearts Way the Most" with Kurt Travis. If you want more DGD with Tillian, plenty of other comments here have pointed you in the right direction.

The crazy thing is that this song doesn’t even come close to doing Tilian justice. He hits some amazing notes in “here comes the winter” “man of the year” many more
The last 3 albums are the best albums of their career. Then the Jonny Craig stuff. The early days of Tilian are alright...just stay away from the self titled album. Very rough time for the band and it just isn't good lol. Mothership I'd say is the bands crowning achievement. Once Tilian lost the thin whininess of his early days and got that signature rasp he has now, the whole bands been firing on all cylinders. Mothership, artificial selection, afterburner.... killed their whole discography with these 3 recent albums.
Tillian has been such a powerhouse in terms of vocals for DGD. He's one of those incredibly unique vocalists that you can just recognize immediately upon hearing it. Same goes for Jon, his screams are just amazing. Especially for them both to be in the range they are and yet still sound so almost raspy and strained, while as you said still being so clean and wonderful. Love to see people experiencing DGD, such a unique flavor of music. Loved the video and your musical take on it.
Jonny was a powerhouse too, and Kurt makes great music. DGD has had some excellent vocalists, and it's really no surprise that they've managed to stay successful despite so much turnover at frontman.
The Tillian albums have def been their golden years. I feel the Craig years were the weakest, with Kurt they were starting to figure it out, and now with Tillian the formula is down.
Definitely worth looking into the 3 variations(era's?) of Dance Gavin Dance, each vocalist brought their own flare. I personally was a fan of Kurt Travis era
