yeah but like, they would have to make a whole victory screen and it’d be seen by nobody cus to get it you’d have to be playing with stocks on, kill on the last stock, as cloud, in advent children costume, and with final smashes enabled. nobody else gets anything like that.

Those smaller swords are not spectral actually, they are physical blades. In advent children which takes place after the main game, cloud changed weapon to what it's call Fusion sword. Multiple blades combining into one that resembles the buster sword. He can then split and use each blade as he sees fit based on situations

But then again Masahiro Sakurai did say at the very beginning that the Final Smashes would be and I quote “straight to the point” so I guess I could cope with it. Other than that, it’s cool
there's actually a comparison video up on yt that compares both the old and new animations side-by-side. Not only does both versions deal the same damage, the entire duration of the smash is actually the same and both versions unleash the final attack at the same time. The final attack indeed doesn't have that 'oomph' though.
@@kuuroh3266 Omnislash V5 probably lacks the same impact of the original because the animation of the actual attack has less screen time. Those few seconds where the fusion sword splits apart use up time that Cloud could've spent attacking instead.

I think it would be awesome if cloud had an alternative basic attack moveset as his advent children costume like how he can split his sword apart, imagine if each hit was with a different sword, his other specials could remain the same but I personally think that would be awesome
I just recently watched Advent Children again and never really noticed before that when Clouds swords split up, its like a phantom version of Cloud attacking with the swords he isnt holding, which really makes sense of the fact that Sephiroth doesnt seem to know where the attack is coming from, theres like 8 Clouds coming at him from all different sides. When i first saw it i always assumed he was flying from one sword to the next, but i dont think thats what happening.
Just because Dissidia doesn't use the Fusion Swords doesn't mean it represents Cloud poorly. I'd argue it shows who Cloud is much better than Smash, where you'll see Cloud spam up tilt and neutral air over and over again.
Fun fact, if you have an in game replay of Advent Children Cloud using the normal final smash from before the update, when the recording gets to the final smash it will be forced to stop, as it will trigger version 5, but this doesn’t match the data for the replay

I absolutely love the sound of him splitting the sword into the spectral version. Such a small, short sound, but it’s good.

The final kill shock effect looks freaking glorious for both versions of this final smash!
Cloud’s original omnislash is his final smash in both original FFVII and Advent Children, until Sephiroth showed up which prompted Omnislash Ver. 5.
