nobody has and ever will play like george. He's an absolute genius of his own class who grew up playing the guitar/uke overall lute-ist if you will. but of course behind any great player is the mind. Absolute amazing genius lines based on total awareness of harmony. Reminiscent of the perfection of greats like oscar, tatum and levels of genius rarely heard, especially at that point of time on the guitar.
No such thing… but these R two all time legends…there… Played it back @0.75 speed… Benson s playing is Beautiful but also very traditional lines 1950s etc. albeit w incredible time…McCoy when not comping ,plays upper extensions of harmony ala Coltrane 1960s early 70s
Time to put the guitar down for awhile.... and then pick it up and work like HELL!!! The thing that always, always, always amazed me about Benson is how effortlessly he plays.
Of course not! There 's definitely a jack up that Ibanez 's ass. What you hear is a floating mini humbucker. Acoustically these jazz boxes sound totally different.
man i always wished there wasn't so much reverb on this recording. this would be even more amazing with a dry small club kind of sound. unless maybe you've been there in person

I'm gonna put my guitar on a shelf after this 😏😏
Absolutely, very relaxed and effortless. I feel this is from his enormous talent. Cecil Alexander is similar. Guitar looks easy and effortless to him

What model of Ibanez guitar is George playing in this video?
Ibanez 2461NT probably

.... they were literally ripping this when I was in diapers.
4:14 Jeremiah Johnson level head nod meme.
I've never seen an Ibanez guitar like this one before. It must be a one-off Custom shop build.
Isn't that just his signature Ibanez model?
Nope, wrong tailpiece.
