Last week without an episode was so sad; it's wonderful to have it back. Thanks for posting this so quickly. Wow, Golfinos was almost a solo act! When the game first started, I didn't think these teams would be too exciting, but it was a bit of a nail biter to see how fast Golfino would hit the buzzer each time! This is going to be fun to see how far he goes in the competition.
He has to read quickly and without mistakes, he mispronounces many foreign words, but I'm sure he would get some of them right if he wasn't under pressure.
This is now 2022, and video game questions have seeped in, slowly but surely, into UC's lore. The next step is recognition of video game _music_, which has been plentiful for more than 30 years now, and which can give classical composers of old a steep run for their money! (witness "Balanced is restored" from Final Fantasy VI) And after that, who knows, anime?
Re: the "achievements in math" bonuses, did Hidden Figures come out in the UK? I can see why it might not have, but it's a good story (except for the made-up incident with the bathroom sign).
I don't agree - he answered heaps of questions (including some starters) - without him they would have failed even more ignominiously. The questions certainly didn't fall their way in this episode.
Jiamin Ke Good lord what show were u watching? :) With a 260:90 lead, what do u mean by 'little chance'? Beaman was the David to Golfinos' Goliath ... R.E.S.P.E.C.T. as the Queen of Soul sang. R.I.P.

Golfinos should be the best player this season. Extremely strong Quizbowl player.
This round is just Paxman interrogating Golfinos.
Hurrah for New York, Golfinos! It was his show. Also - these were great categories for me! I slammed, too, and was quick on the draw
'You were a nice team' - ouch.
yeah, that was pretty condescending
I thought it was a pretty deep joke aimed at Golfinos carrying the other team pretty hard.
@@Scy He wasn't talking to the Darwin team though so that doesn't really make sense
Agreed with @Scy I think it implied that they WERE a nice team, while the other 'team' was basically Golfinos and his emotional support crew
wow Golfinos .... SOAS didn't even have a chance lmao
tired-fairy He would take down even Monkman. This is gonna be an exciting season.
GOLFINOS: Omae wa mou shinderu
SOAS: Nani?!
I am American, and I find hearing an American accent on this show quite jarring.
Thanks for posting so quickly. Really appreciate it!
Don't get how on Earth did Jeremy Paxman read "Sofia" that way
He has to read quickly and without mistakes, he mispronounces many foreign words, but I'm sure he would get some of them right if he wasn't under pressure.
Both teams seem really lovely. Darwin crushed it! Can't believe Paxman didn't congratulate them on their "storming performance"!
Beaman needs to listen to the whole question. He knows his stuff but he answers way too early.
If you were up against Golfinos you’d be a tad jumpy too.
thank you for uploading! god i was upset bbc scheduled sth else last week.
Golfinos reminds me of leonard hofstadter 😂
And mulley is clearly tywin lannister
@@conish64 More like Walder Frey if you're taking about ASOIAF.
Mulley seems much nicer though.
Nobody clapped at Golfinos' clearing the video game bonus questions. That's hilarious.

mistake in one of the questions at 15.30 .. E A Poe died in 1849 not 1847
I always love SOAS, high marks for making the finalists again.
Trimble, Loveday, Woods, McKeown
Golfinos is next
Finally, a sinologist on UC. Gemmel hmu!
Golfinos is a god

Edgar Allan Poe died in 1849, not 1847.
So the capitan of Darwin is Leonard from Big Bang Theory? 😳
I got 16, definitely a record for me
Poe died in 1849, not 1847.
Blimey. They always say that dolphins are intelligent.
They are wrong about the Coot being smaller than a Moorhen - they're bigger!!!
They didn't get Count Basie, and they almost didn't get Glenn Miller! OMG!
(Finally, a music round I absolutely knew all the answers to...)
Golfinos vs SOAS. They didn't have a chance....
You've done enough, have you no sense of decency .... and Golfinos shoots Joseph McCarthy. Just remarkable brain (inherited from his father). :))
Davis is fine!!!
Good lord, Beaman completely ruined
any little chance SOAS had, he's so trigger happy....
It felt like he almost cost the team more in interruptions than he gained in correct answers
I don't agree - he answered heaps of questions (including some starters) - without him they would have failed even more ignominiously. The questions certainly didn't fall their way in this episode.
Quite. They had to get in the game - better to risk losing 5 points a few times than just sit there while Darwin - Golfinos runs up the score.

Sandroid Bruh they were like down 175 to 10 or something and came in way too late lmao
Go Beaman
Golfinos is god
what a drubbing!
Typical Oxbridge sportsmanship, bringing in American graduate ringers, as if they haven't got enough advantages.
Hilarious
