Dear Miss. Wind Hippy.... I know you don't realize it... but, you are such an Angel... you just make my whole day, every time; you add beauty, gentle grace and cheer to my life, really... Thank you so much for the wonderful stuff you share and being such an Angel... Yeah!!!
Thanks for making your episodes in one playlist. Saw you on Whitespotpirates and have been following you ever since. Went back to Episode 1 and going right up the chain. Just wanted to drop you a thank you note. Best wishes on all your journeys
I always feel your love and respect for the sea and nature. This is not something, that can be taken for granted these days. Fair winds and following seas.👍
G'day Crew,, You certainly are looking well ,I guess the lifestyle & location must agree with you , Glad your having fun ,there is no hurry to join the real world . Remember to stay safe at sea . Later,, you trendy little Wind hippie. Respect from Down Under
Nothing quite like the Tuamotus for setting the correct pace of life and teaching you to get by with what you have! Truely paradise but remote! Great video!👏👌👍⛵🌏😊
I think of all the sailing channels I watch you, Delos, and SLV are all tied for Number 1--I like the more raw format you have to offer--it's awesome!!!
You have a very Musically talented family, sure makes it nice! No copyright infringements for wind hippie sailing! Loving the videos, keep living free and enjoying life!!!!! ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
your videos are wonderful and inspiring, so sicc seeing you out there doing things in a modest/frugal fashion and enjoying yourself. i am also relived to hear you have re-thought the solar setup. the solid mounted (but movable) panels should serve you well
Big cheers for the latest update! Keen to see how you and Jarne go sailing to the next island, and the whole process of chucking the whole solar getup together-- it's super inspirational to watch you sail the Gecko. Keep on keeping on!
Oh Holly you're a true Mariner now you're always coming up with solutions for minor problems. May the Sun be at your back and a fare wind fill your sails young lady. Nice tunes by the way 🎶🎶 Has always much peace and love from northeast Texas 🤠
Enjoyed the video 😊thank you! I appreciate what you're doing and how you're living your life!👍 good going! I think that sounds like a really good solution for your solar panel situation! 🤙
Great music. I have been watching your videos on and off since the early days. I have to say to really have matured into quite a confident, beautiful, confident young lady
Such beautiful clear waters. Reminds me of my ocean time in Florida keys. When the Gulf was in visibility was 100+ feet, insanely clear water. Leaning over the boat looking down made one feel like you would fall 100 feet....Yikes. For your solar needs check out Sailing Uma on UA-cam videos......Dan is a whizz at solar installation. Food for thought. Feliz Cinco de Mayo!!
As always, a great pleasure seeing your latest news. I love your attitude. There is no hurry, stay as long as you enjoy it and then find a new place to feel at home in.
Only recently got interested in sailing, although I am from a big sailing nation. Actually from the country where your boat was made. (Denmark) I've watched a few channels, and learned that I am not interested in Instagram/influencer type personalities, fancy catamarans and the sort. Until last week I didn't know who you were, or your quirky dry sense of humor. I had never heard of a boat type called a grinde, which means pilotwhale in danish btw. Didn't know there was a smaller version of the boat either called "Spækhugger" which means Orca, that there was a bigger version too called a "Kaskelot" meaning spermwhale. But here I am a week later, having watched multiple of your episodes, learned that you can cross the pacific in a 28' boat (mindblown) with no mod cons, and all alone! (mind blown again) i feel this sense of pride watching you go about everything with a smile and a dry joke, and I don't have the first clue who you are. This channel is so barebones and yet some of the best UA-cam i've watched. Thank you, and be safe. (I know you are)
@@WindHippieSailing You are welcome for sure. And yes, last year our summer fell on a Tuesday, so unless you know the exact date of the next summerday, long pants is a good bet, ha ha.... ;o)
Loving the vibe & the vids, so relaxed but proper sailing. Still - only just doing your depth sounder calib? You have the best approach - water column depth (waterline offset) & know your draft. Easy to check on chart & for tidal calcs if you need them! Best
Just curious. Why not a wind turbine, to generate electricity? I'm sure that you have considered it. Just wondering what the "con" was that precluded its implementation.
@@donnasummer6285 They work when you have a boat that can sail fast. Usually they are most effective above 7 knots, they do drag so you need to be able to sail ~0,5-1knot faster. They are very expensive and need a specific mount on the stern. Not all boats have the real estate for it. When they work it is a very good power source. I wouldn't rely on my power with that many moving components.
Did you have any problems negotiating with Customs due to COVID? I read many horror stories about sailors being locked out of harbours due to travel restrictions.
I know that in Trinidad and Tobago where I am based cruisers haven't been allowed back in since last March which is really just horrible and I certainly feel for them. Also, even locals aren't allowed back in very easily so it's not like we can sail out the foreigners boats and then come back home. It's an utter mess!
Went to the coast here in Norway today, the smell of sea was great! But I wonder, how do you afford sailing and staying around the world as you do? $ is personal I know, but nevertheless😊
Pro tip, carefully wash the lens in your mask with toothpaste. Rinse it well. Whenever you are going to use the mask, spit in it, rub with your finger. Do it a few minutes before you go into the water. It should fog on you anymore.
your cousins band sounds pretty good. it's a shame to think that all those islands/atolls will be under water in another 50 to 100 years :-( glad i wont be around to see i happen :-((
ouff that shot through the rusted iron fence was 10/10!!

You live my dream that I did not make reality.
✋ right back atcha!
You have an infectious smile, really lovely, matches your demeanor. No wonder you have a man following you around the Pacific.
A man? One? Puhlease, Holly has thousands of men following her around the Pacific!
Oh, all those luscious flowers - I can almost smell them!
11:34 : Yes, Schweppes Leon is 'da bomb'! Esp. when it's hot. Add lots of ice and a swig of Martini Bianco.
Thanks for the walkabout to see the atoll. Im loving the laid back more realistic style of your channel as always!

Sweet solar panel ideas for small boats! Cool.

Nice stroll round the island, amazing that people actually survive on something that small and low to the water.
It's amazing how little we need to be happy!

Oh it’s just so gorgeous ,thanks for your update
Hi Holly, you may find it actually cheaper to buy two 100 W panels instead of 2- 50 watt panels
I love that track by your cousin’s band! My kind of music!
Nice to see you looking happy and healthy Little Girl. Your Sailing Buddy seems to be an asset in your life👍
Fair winds!
I wonder when people started using solar on their boats in earnest. Seems like panels and inverters have come way down in cost from where they were.
what a beautiful place ! ! ! such an energetic girl.....

Holly, get the best ones you can afford. But save some money for the new motor 😊🤝🤝👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Rx Fire! so good... thanks for that
village is clean, no graffiti, no neon sign, peaceful.. what an example for many other islands to follow.
Indeed...
Great tunes.
Holly MacGyver, love your dad's picking. Some more of your own music would also be nice. 😎
Luv the music!

Sweet tunes.
finally yay ! ! !
Nice 👍
I've always wondered about those places. Don't they eat seaweed? There are many delicious seaweeds and they have a water garden next door.
Just curious. Why not a wind turbine, to generate electricity? I'm sure that you have considered it. Just wondering what the "con" was that precluded its implementation.
Expensive, loud and not very effective.

I have not watched your channel in a while and wow you have lost a bit a weight
you're lucky, my depth sounder reads 22.5m when i run aground
I have to admit, I read that as "celebrating" and I didn't even bat an eye. Seems like something you'd do.
Haha excellent :)
Why couldn’t you just drop a weighted line overboard and mark the waterline on the rope? I used to guage tanks with a plumb bob tape.
love the vibe, need a better editing though..just a suggestion...
